We were enjoying a lovely afternoon in downtown Fairhope and decided to stop in for a late lunch. We decided to sit in the sunroom as opposed to the courtyard and it was just so pretty. The courtyard is pretty too, but the sunroom is like nothing else around Baldwin or Mobile Counties. After glancing at the menu, which is posted on the back of a hand fan, I decided on the French Quarter burger, which has Conecuh bacon and Swiss cheese melted on it. The buns are nice and don't get soggy. The burger was absolutely delicious! My hubs ordered the bacon and Beer cheese burger and I had to taste it. The beer and cheddar sauce is nothing short of amazing. The thin hand cut fries were delicious too. I really want to go back and try the rosemary chicken panini, but it's going to be hard to pass up those burgers. We had breakfast in the courtyard a few months ago. Those beignets are everything they're cracked up to be. The service and prices were good. read more

Yelpers: I'm so glad that I trusted you. Thank you. For our New Orleans to Pensacola road trip, I was trying to find a good food place to stop for lunch, somewhere around Mobile AL. Somehow, Panini Pete's popped up as a recommendation. After looking over the reviews, re-watching the episode of Diners Drive-ins and Dives, and glancing at their website, I decided a detour to Fairhope AL was in order. The trip to Fairhope itself was well worth it, as this is a beautiful town. Panini Pete's was great. Just great. It is a small dining area filled with tons of personality, from the wall decorations to the wait staff. The food itself was fantastic. I'll agree with others that the homemade chips were a little on the overcooked side. So were the homemade fries, but I kind of enjoyed them that way. We didn't have any room left to try the beignets, although the table next to us had some and they looked (and smelled) delicious. This is definitely worth a try if you find yourself anywhere near Fairhope. Reasonably priced, very delicious, friendly service, and the perfect atmosphere for just about any occasion (quick lunch, business lunch, family meal, etc). Who knew that I'd find the best food I've had in ages while visiting the Fairhope area for business? Certainly not me. I'd never heard of Panini Pete's and I'm generally not one to follow any kind of hype - I just want good food. When the person suggested I eat here and told me something about the Food Network I rolled my eyes at him, but took the recommendation anyway. And I'm soooo glad I did. The roasted turkey - WOW. I was blown away. It was probably one of the best sandwiches I've had in my life. Whatever you do - please don't ask them to leave anything off this sandwich. It's perfect just how it is. I think they're riding on their fame because it certainly isn't the quality of their food or service anymore.

I drove two hours this morning on my way to the beach. I took the Fairhope exit and went 10 miles out of my way to eat beignets at Panini Pete's. I had my two grandkids with me and we ordered 3 orders of their famous beignets. The lady piled all twelve on top of each other and sprinkled a little white powered sugar on the top ones. Of course, the kids didn't want the ones with no sugar and neither did I. I guess they would have been ok, if they had not been so cold. Sorry I made the extra effort to go there this morning for this special treat. Next time I suppose if I want warm beignets, I will need to be there when they open and order one beignets basket at a time. Maybe they will take the time to make it a special treat. My colleague had been raving about this place ever since he tried it last year. It is a unique restaurant where we could sit in a greenhouse (climate controlled) setting. We came here twice and I ordered the famous turkey panini that was on Triple D and the muffaletta panini. I preferred the turkey. The fries and chips are pretty good as well. My husband and I can here for breakfast. We started with the beignets which were good, especially with the lemon! We then split the brunch wrap and the green eggs and ham. The brunch wrap was super delicious! The green eggs and ham would have been delicious if not for the pesto- it was a bit overpowering. The fruit was yummy. And the service was wonderful. It's always busy every time I come here, but the service is fast and attentive (even when you have to wait for a table), and the food is tasty. They have beers by the bottle and possibly on draught; daily burger and panino specials, a kids' menu, and their chips and fries ("frites") are house-made. Prices are reasonable, too. read more

Excellent all around. We live in Florida and have driven there 3 times to eat over the last couple Months. Had the Black and Bleu burger yesterday and it was one of the best burgers I have ever had. Also have had the turkey panini which is also outstanding!! The ambiance is great and we have always had excellent service!!! I can't give any stars to this restaurant because I never got to eat any food. Now, I will never get to know the food because we were told they could not serve us because a friend brought an alcoholic drink into the patio area. I can understand why they would not serve him, but we did not bring in outside drinks and had ordered other drinks. They refused to serve us because we were associated with the other couple. While I understand what he did was wrong, I dont see how that should have affected everyone else. I hope that they learned from this and will know next time when something similar happens to treat people individually. read more

From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with friendly customer service. They accommodated our party of 11 and sat us even though our entire wasn't there. Aubrey was sweet and took care of our every need. Then we met the owner Pete and he treated us like family. The panini of the day was the cubano. It was pulled pork, shaved ham, pickled pickles, pickled jicama, and a little cilantro. The bread was toasted perfectly! This was a must try sandwich. I had the the cheesy burger ever! It had four types of cheeses on it. I ordered it with the skinny fries. My son had the grilled chicken tenders and he did not complain they weren't fried. He said, "this is some good seasoned chicken!" He is 12. My niece has the grilled cheese but I was scared she wasn't going to eat it since it had the ridges on it like a panini on the bread. The cheese was also white not yellow so that threw her off. She went ahead and tried it and loved it because the cheese was stringy as she bit into it. I felt like they tasted too eggy... not sure if that's a word or not lol. My husband ordered the roasted turkey panini because it was featured on Food Network. He said it was pretty good. I wanted something on the lighter side so I had the Panini Pete Salad. Gosh did I order the wrong thing. It was pretty terrible. The chicken was under seasoned and still had the little tendon pieces on it, yuck. There was one small slice of avocado and two slices of tomato. The roast beef on the medium rare roast beef sandwich was raw!!! I get it medium rare, but that was just raw!!!!! Eew.... Even the waitress said it was very red. She was kind and took it back to the kitchen, and the cook put the same meat back on the grill. They do charge for 2oz cups of sauce as well. Not the best we have had. I was really excited to try this place since it is always packed with people. Unfortunately, our experience wasn't that great. My son's grilled cheese was cold and not melted, his fries were covered with pepper. My turkey sandwich had a quarter size piece of rubbery fat and both the sandwich and chips were super oily. If you come for just one thing, make sure it's the beignets. This may be sacrilege, but I think they absolutely do them better than Cafe du Monde in New Orleans. I ordered the beer cheese , bacon burger with fresh made potato chips. Heard some great things about Panini Pete's so had to check this place out. I'm not sure if this is the original location or not, but it is amazing regardless. On the Saturday we arrived, opening was at 11 am (I was the rude guy who poked his head in at 1050 asking where to sit). The courtyard is a great place to sit on a weekend (when it isn't too warm). Service was extremely fast and very attentive. The turkey panini and chicken blt were both amazing, despite us getting full on beignettes beforehand (yes, squeeze the lemon on them). We arrived at 11 o'clock on Sunday morning and were disappointed to learn that breakfast was no longer being served (ends at 10:30). Who doesn't serve breakfast past noon on Sunday?? However, the Panini that we had were delicious and lived up to the reputation of this charming place. It was a cool end-of-March morning, but the patio curtains were in place and the heaters were on, so we were toasty warm.
