Never offended any help or suggestion. The looks was as if they were bored. We got the carnesada burrito n shredded beef nachos. The place is clean n cool. I think when the other worker lady walked in they moved more. Thinking it was their boss. Customer came in n they moved faster n more polite. Good to see. As a customer I always watch who ever working n how the greeted n serve their people. Now the nachos I got was shredded beef n refried beans with the melted cheese n toppings. Paniolos is a clean establishment with a helpful staff. We say Paniolos is the Chipotle of Hawaii because there are no Chipotle's in Oahu. We've been to this establishment twice and it's been disappointing both times because like Chipotle they are stingy with their food. They have spoons to scoop the rice, beans, proteins and veggies but they don't give you a spoonful. It was disappointing watching them spoon the Kalua pork into my keiki meals. The amount of pork was slightly above the lip of the spoon (just slightly) and they proceeded to empty the spoon to where it was well below a spoonful. The idea being better to give them less over a little too much?? I didn't ask for more because I didn't want them to charge me for "extra" protein. It costs them pennies to serve rice, beans, veggies and slightly more for a protein. It costs $8 for a keiki meal. Unfortunately I didn't take photos but trust that this place isn't generous with its servings. I've tried a Paniolos steak burrito and it was bland. You'd assume it would be full of flavor because it's sitting in seasoned juices but it wasn't. The Kalua pork was flavorful. This place is well suited for a paniolo with a small appetite. I happened to be riding my horse around Kapolei and got hungry, so I stopped at this Mexican restaurant. Food was tasty, but the protein portion was fitting for a keiki cowboy. Me being of the large paniolo variety would have liked a bit more chopped steak in my bowl. Super simple process: pick between white rice or brown, black or refried beans, protein, veggies, sauces etc. I came in about 20-30 minutes before closing, so they were out of a few different proteins but they still had the kalua pig out- which was super ono. Maybe not my first choice, but glad that I got to try it. Very tender, you can tell they slow cook it for a while. I will say that the bowls are a bit smaller than Chipotle's for the same price- but hey, it's Hawai'i so I get it. This spot is located in Kapolei Commons nearby the movie theatre. What can I say? I've become a regular here. It's healthy. It's always fresh and when I'm craving vegetables, what better way to enjoy than with a burrito bowl. I will say that when I'm craving something healthy this place is always on my mind as someone who loves chipotle, this is very close to it. I do enjoy their cilantro lime rice, and they do have a brown rice version which is awesome. I usually get the chicken or the steak. You get two salsa options so to make it more substantial, I get the corn and the pico de gallo. Everything is free except for the bell pepper and onion blend and the guacamole of course. Sour cream on top adds a nice touch. Also, the cilantro, lime, jalapeño, and onion, gives it a delicious burst of flavor. Met a friend for lunch. Had take out at the one in Kahala but never been to this one. Sorta like Chipotle's in the mainland where you get to choose items. Went at 11 when they opened and we were the only ones for a while but then it picked up and lots of take out and towards the end a couple more that ate inside. The place is clean, which should always be the standard. The three women helping make the orders were okay, not really friendly (except to a regular who had not been in for a while) but really no complaints. They did their job. Choices were varied, a little something for everyone- meat/no meat, burrito/bowl/taco. Your choice (like I mentioned earlier, a little like Chipotle except for the Kailua pork). This place used to be our go to place...not anymore. My husband loved the kalua pork burrito with extra meat from there, but on January 16, 2026 we ordered to go. His burrito had no meat and if it did it was puréed, there was nothing but mush with rice, beans, cheese, and guacamole. After a couple of bites my husband stopped eating the burrito when he realized there was no meat. I call the restaurant they told me the burrito was mushy because of the refried beans. I think of this place as the subway of Mexican food. But if it had a baby with one of those mainland Poké bowl places. Is it Mexican? Definitely not. Do they have Mexican ingredients? Yes. Does what they hand you resemble any Mexican dish at all? Definitely not. Is it good? It's pretty good. You'll get some sort of fancy salad or wrap with Mexican ingredients... But it's definitely not going to be an authentic Mexican food experience. If you go in there thinking you're going to get a decent salad, you'll be satisfied. I went for a burrito and found that it was a build your own style. You choose from their menu your meat, beans, veggies and salsa. Staff were friendly and walked me through the process. I wish they had more protein choices though. The salsa was spread inside the burrito but I like to have mine separate. The burrito was flavorful and fresh. Filling and a good value for the price. I am so happy to have a quick-serve Mexican restaurant on the west side. Paniolos - Kapolei is conveniently located with tons of parking, and their food is always fresh. I go there all the time for a healthy, quick meal that satisfies my craving for Mexican food. It is so close to being the Chipotle of Hawaii. The only reason why I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because they charge for too many extras. I usually get veggie nachos, and they charge for the vegetables, which seems like it should be included--otherwise, it's just beans and salsa. They also charge a lot for two tiny scoops of guacamole. I am comparing this to Chronic Taco on Kapahulu and Chipotle on the mainland, where they include veggies and a heaping spoonful of guacamole for free on veggie options. One of our go to good eat nearby Disney Aulani Resort was Paniolos Hawaii (@panioloshawaii ). We've there for at least 4 times during our 10 nights stay. What kept us coming back? Yummy food, big portion at a very reasonable price & most importantly great staffs and services! I wanted to try something different and was curious about this place. Upon entering the restaurant you are immediately greeted and the employees are ready to take your order. There was no line so I quickly looked at the menu. It reminded me of Chipotle ( build your bowl or burrito situation) you pick your carb, protein, beans,toppings and other extra ingredients into your meal. They also offer tacos but you skip that whole process and order at the register. This place is a healthy option since you can control what you put into your meal. I was a little thrown off that it said steak, but I'm not complaining. It was delicious. GRILLED STEAK is an option so maybe that's actual steak. We ordered steak, chicken, tofu, and veg burritos. The service was great, we ordered and paid the day before and they were ready for pick up on time. The sides were packed up so it was easy to transport. We did have a larger order (50 burritos) and they helped me to my car (packed everything on a rolling cart). They also source their beef locally.
