I don't know why I haven't reviewed this place earlier. Whenever I'm in the area, I HAVE to go here. The plantains, beans, rice, veggies, all delicious. The meat...oh, yes. They have a choice of chicken, brisket, steak and I think sausage. I normally get the steak, which is always flavorful and normally tender, and with the steak, they give you a choice of having fat or no fat. I've gotten the brisket before, but my pallet is used to brisket done a different way, so I wasnt impressed. But I always walk away full and happy. I've even had my family pick some up for me when they come down to visit - they drive it the 6 hours it takes to get to me. (They put it on ice) It's that good. Why 4 stars and not 5? Because of parking. The parking is crap. They've got a itty-bitty parking lot that is always full (after all the food is delicious) and then you have street parking. This is where you are forced to park in front of people's houses and not block their driveways. The parking situation I'd horrible, but the food is worth the effort. read more

One star not because of food, price or service this is because of location. The stake and wings are super great, they are super friendly but while I was enjoying my stake someone came up in font of me asking for money I don't know why he came to me specially even so there were many other full tables.. he looked and spoke weirdly , his head was covered and hardly I could see his face that was scary when he left I saw him talking to other guys out side what made me feel it is like a gang thing ..... Quickly I left and jumped to my car the neighborhood seemed unsafe to me. Again, nothing wrong with the food but I believe the owners should do something to prevent such situations and unfortunately I will not come back there again because safety is first! read more

Located on a narrow street in the heart of Bridgeport, cars are already parked in the very small compact lot. For those who love meat, and A LOT OF IT, your cravings will be satisfied. Buffett style, with a full salad bar on one end, and your nose following to the sides on the other, with offers such as wings, collard greens, fried fish, friend yukka, and pork ribs. The reason you come here is for the meat. A guy monitors about 20 different skewers filled with steaks, chicken wrapped in bacon, pork chops, sausage, and ribs. You tell him what you want and he cuts the meat until you tell him to stop. Then sit at a table and dig in. The four stars mean I adore the variety of well seasoned and fresh food, even though I'd rather not eat it there. It's clean and roomy enough, but the incessant music and blasting TV simply annoy me. I'm all about ambiance, but I'm willing to sacrifice it for the yummy Chorizo, juicy chicken wings, succulent steak, and sweet plantains. I was first introduced to this place during lunch with co-workers, and then it turned into an every Sunday lunch with my Mother. She gets everything from the beets to the fresh tomato salsa to the beef lasagna, and everything in between. They even have fried pork skins, and that's when I just became speechless. I have been here more times than I care to share with you, and at about $6 per pound, my plates cost anywhere from $13 - $16...just for one plate! My boyfriend and I come here about once a month when we're sick of the standard Fairfield offerings. It's not in the best area but the food is great. You pay (by weight) after you get your food. It's the same deal as those trendy "new" Brazilian places that serve different meats on a spit, except it's served at a counter rather than table service. They have sausage, steaks, chicken, and other meats, as well as a buffet that includes yucca, fried plantains, rice, corn, and a number of other dishes. Parking can be an issue, depending on what time you come. I wouldn't recommend parking in the lot- it's kind of cramped and risky. read more

Great food, relaxed atmosphere, and very reasonable prices. The buffet lets you get some vegetables and assorted delicacies so make sure you get some fried ripe plantains. Your next stop is the Churrasco station. Restraint is futile! The supply of finely grilled meat is good and plenty. Take home containers are readily available so don't let the size of your plate scare you! We then paid at the counter and grabbed some drinks then off to the table to feast. Everything about this place is awesome! The food is so so great! The steak, the sausages, the chicken wrapped in bacon, DELICIOUS! The place does tend to get packed on certain times depending on when you go, but it's definitely worth to try. My wife told me about this Brazilian-type restaurant. I was eager to visit this establishment. This place is a buffet with their specialty of meats ( sausages, brisket, beef and rotisserie chicken ). I opted for the well-done beef with no fat, fried fish, broccoli, chicken hearts, greens, onion, and white rice. Admittedly, i'm not a fan fan of chicken hearts, but never the less, i tried it and basically its an acquired taste...the beef was tasty and somewhat dry, which is understandable, because I requested well done. This is not a place for fine dining. The green and yellow building shows the colors of Brazil. This buffet place offers salads, fresh fruit, fried plantains, Brazilian dishes and their famous grilled meats. Fantastic variety of grilled meats from chicken to pork, to steak and longuica. I am so glad my friend brought me here to try this fab place. The staff is wonderful, they bring a long skewer of meat and slice a piece on the table for you. I've been here a few times. We always seem to end up while we break after work before we have to get back for some lackluster teacher meeting. The location, for me, is easy to get to and there's always enough parking. The salad bar selection is always fresh and with a wide variety. You can always find the standards, lettuce, tomatoes, hot peppers and something pickled. Sometimes, hearts of palm! (my favorite) After the salad bar, is an array of Spanish cuisine. Rice varities, beans, some stewed chicken or beef. Plantanos or maybe fried potatoes. I was disappointed last time because there were no chicharrones and those are my jam. The meat selection varies but is always good. Last time I had some steak and some bacon wrapped chicken. Both are delicious. Also, the chimi sauce at the salad bar is delicious. The staff is friendly and polite and you don't feel bad about piling on the food or shoveling it into a to-go container. They weigh it at the register and have a cooler of drinks or specialty juices off to the side. The last time I went, I had enough for two meals and with a water, came to around $11.00. Really good when you're looking for some food on the go. They have a decent sized dining area but I've only taken food to go. You come in, grab your container, stand in a buffet style line and load up. At the end of the line is the meats. You tell the man what you want. Usually they have sausage, steak, and bacon wrapped chicken. When you're done, you weigh up, pay and you're on your way. The food is consistently good but there are nights where the buffet food is better than others. The items in the buffet change from day to day and from what I've been told, there's no rhyme or reason which sucks if you really like some of the items because you never know what's going to be there as far as the buffet items go. If you want to pay for cold, reheated food be my guest. They charged me almost $2 for a fountain drink and when I get it- it's just water and sugar. The staff there are rude and never get around to cleaning the tables, so on top of that your cold reheated buffet food you will be eating it on a dirty table too, and washing it down with sugar water. Their meats all taste of garlic there isn't a piece on the grill that isn't smothered in it. They make it seem like they are the ones doing us a favor by staying open and value their customers as such. Will never go back there again. However they have interesting sliced dark green lettuce type salad that yesterday looked it was spiced with lemon and was good. Okay so the atmosphere is far from classy but the food is delicious! My first time here I was a bit skeptical! I was visiting a family member nearby and as a Bridgeport local he recommended we visit Pantanal. It was a Friday night and it was definitely packed. The crowd was very diverse with a mix of business professionals, families with children and the beautiful Brazilians themselves! (If Brazilians eat here it must be good right!?) Anywhoooo, The meats were all seasoned and charred perfectly. I asked the guy at the grill for "a little bit of everything" and that's exactly what he gave me! The pork was definitely the star for me! They also have a nice array of fruit juices such as guava, mango etc. My only complaint would be that my black beans seriously lacked flavor (and I love black beans mixed with white rice and plantains :( ) Other than that everything else was yummy and my experiences since then have been great! read more

Fresh food. That is key. There are 4 Brazilian places within 5 blocks of each other. They all have potato Salad, plantains,rice,beans and meat on a spit. What sets this place apart is the fact that this place is busy all the time. The food turns over quickly and is always fresh. The other places may have decent food but not enough turnover to keeps the food fresh. Go here. Food is always amazing. This is my go to Brazilian food spot. The food is always fresh and tasty. The steak and chicken wrapped in bacon are my favorite. I love the brisket when its very tender and falls apart, there have been times where this was not the case and I passed on it. The only complaint I have is when I order steak and I ask for no fat and they still end up putting a ton of fatty steak in my container.
