12.3.24 The food is pretty good with almost anything you order. They are very consistent which is a plus. They're open until 1:00 or 1:30 a.m. which fills that late night craving. They have an extensive menu. The food I've received has always been fresh. They're not much on customer service but they do get your order correct all the time I've visited. It's a no frills take out joint for, like I said, those cravings or when you're looking for that not healthiest food and just want a burger & fries. They do fill this void. The spot is pick up/take out only. It looks almost like an older drive in. They do lock the doors around 11:00 or midnight. Understandably so because they're not located in the greatest of areas here. When they lock the doors you'll have to order through the window. The chili cheese dog is a repeat order here. They're pretty good. I tried the fried dough with meat sauce. Unfortunately this is not a repeat. About 2 hours later I had agita for the next several hours. While the fried dough was very good the meat sauce wasn't. I hadn't eaten that day until I ate here and then after I ate i had heartburn and acid reflux for the next several hours. Mind you, I can't remember ever having either over the last decade with anything I've consumed. Even taco bell. So if I dare to try it again i hope it's better that the first and only time I tried it. They are pleasant the vast majority of times I've frequented them. There was one occurrence but I'll chalk that up to him not hearing me correctly and file it under mis communication. Hey, it happens. We go on from there. We push forward and never hold a grudge. The fast food industry can't be an easy one. They must let it out every now and then. As long as they're not harsh, it's in one ear & out the other. Not sure why this place has bad reviews. It's comparable to the Merritt canteen in bridgeport. A to go burger and hot dog place that has lots more on the menu. I wouldn't eat in, I don't think there's tables but I did see some outdoor tables. The staff working the grill and flat top make some great food! It's open late and really the perfect last minute idea if your hungry. The fries are good, the burgers are super fresh. My boyfriend is obsessed with the double cheeseburgers, he said it just hits different and is his go to. The buns aren't cheap buns but real rolls. All the toppings on the burgers are fresh. Hot dogs are good. There's shakes and pizza and Philly cheesesteaks. I believe cash only so keep that in mind. read more

Place is disgusting. Idk why the reviews are lying. I ordered a buffalo chicken grinder. Which you can you see for yourself was a dry piece of wedged bred some fry chicken breast and what appears to be hot sauce. No other toppings. I never known a grinder to not have anything on it. Also ordered fries which were dry and nasty. Place looked run down and deserted and that should have been my sign not order. Let me just start off by saying that the food is delicious but I would never go back. Reason number 1- The place was disturbingly messy. (Mostly the kitchen) Reason number 2- The guy that was cooking our food doesn't care about his job. He threw our hot dogs into the oil and it hit the greasy wall of the fryer. He picked out an eye booger (NO GLOVES). He kept talking and laughing with his coworkers so he was spitting all over our food. I'm pretty sure he cross contaminated because he touched meat, bread, money, sauces, and bottles all without gloves. Nostalgia. That's what happens when I think of Valley Farm. I lived right next to Valley Farm until my 21st birthday. The little yellow house next to the parking lot? Yep, that's my old house! Haven't been there in a while, so don't get on me about how the property looks! I've moved from Connecticut (huge mistake). I have Valley Farm to thank for my tasty childhood memories. The people there are like family and I miss them dearly. I wonder if they even remember me? I had a habit of ordering either a chicken cutlet with just mayo and tomato or a chicken parm grinder. Always had to get an order of fries with pepper and ketchup and an order of chili cheese fries. The best in town. Since I grew up on this food, I've been comparing what I eat now to back then. I need to stop because I keep disappointing myself. Over the years, the prices have increased, but the place has changed as well. Kids in the neighbourhood who lived on this food as well eventually started working there, feeding their own kids hotdogs and hamburgers from Valley Farm or just stop by to say hi. It's just how we lived. I remember that one day when Titanic came out on the VHS set (who remembers that?). I had my dad order me a large cheese pizza from Valley Farm and I ate it by myself. I watched Titanic three times that day and ate a whole pizza. Good times~ BLTs, meatball grinders (my parents loved them), Italian ice and vanilla cones with rainbow sprinkles during the summer. I even went there when I was a vegetarian. Fries with ketchup and an egg and bell pepper grinder. The fried dough nearly killed me. It was great with powdered sugar. It was great with tomato sauce. Small place-- pretty good menu. Walk in- order- walk out 5mins later. No hello, no smiles, no thank you. Rude service. So I came here for my first time a few days ago & it wasn't worth it. I ordered a chili dog, onion rings, and a strawberry milkshake. The chili dog looked so nasty and was soggy. It tasted like they just put salsa on the dog, which is gross. The onion rings were okay. The strawberry milkshake tasted just like strawberry milk. The service wasn't all that either. To me Valley Farm is an institution. I remember going there 50 years ago and every week I would get 2 hotdogs with ketchup and a strawberry shake. Every once in a while I would get a meatball grinder and maybe a pizza cut. I recently went back after not going there in over 10 years and I must say I was disappointed. The person at the front window was very rude. He was counting his money at the register and he kept on staring at me as if I was going to rob the place. I was wondering how he was able to count the money and stare at me the same time. The place looks pretty much the same way it did in the 70s but back then there was much more social interaction between the customers and the former owners. When the food finally arrived it really wasn't that good. It wasn't bad but it wasn't good. The prices were high for the quality of the food and the unwelcoming atmosphere of the place. I probably won't go back again for at least another 10 years. So much for nostalgia. read more

The good part - food is usually very good. Open late night so great alternative to McDonald's or other fast foods. The bad part. They do make tasty wings but only if they are sauced. Here is the problem, almost every time I order buffalo wings and specify I want them tossed in hot sauce all I get is plain fried wings... I'm not the type to complain about one or three occurrences but this is constant. I went there on a Saturday after a car show in Stratford and was skeptical about the place. I perused the menu for a few minutes and saw they had a porketta sandwich which was a "Saturday only" menu item. I said eh! Lets go for it, the guy behind the counter asked me if i wanted onion, pepper and gravy and i replied "of course" I mean when in Rome... I also ordered chili cheese fries with it, i have to say firstly the sandwich which was served on a fresh grinder roll was suberb! I mean it was shockingly good! I was quite taken aback at how delicious it was and truthfully could have eaten another! It was right up there with the neighborhood Italian places of yester-year who served this with roast beef sandwiches back in the day. Nice tender pork, good gravy and sauteed onions which were sweet and complimented the tangy hot peppers. Now to the not so good the chili? If you can even call it that? It was more like meat sauce marinara.. no chili spice flavor whatsoever, cut down on the amount of meat in it and add some spices and it would be good! Rude Rude RUDE! Got hungry and decided to stop here instead of taking a drive across town. What a mistake! While I was reviewing the menu, I was asked "what do you want?" While I was ordering, I was cut off. Lots of eye rolling and a very unprofessional tone. The food took forever, and when I got home, I noticed food in there that I didn't even order which means I was charged for things I didn't want. Ran out of there so fast I didn't even get a chance to check. I've been coming to this place for years, and I usually refer away but it's safe to say that I will never be going back to Valley Farms or referring anyone I know to go there for anything. They have the best hot dogs in the area. Deep fried dog on the best bun. The bun is not your average bun. It holds the toppings without turning into a soggy mess. Pretty good milkshakes too. I love their food, great tasting! Highly recommend the double bacon, chili cheeseburgers! Amazing when you're high. Steak and cheeses are good but bread quality is average. I'd still order a cheesesteak. Pulled pork is messy, just tossed in the bread and very messy and sloppy if you don't have napkins nearby don't order. The service is mediocre, they don't greet you, just get a finger point and " what would you like? " so I wouldn't give them my best manners as long as my food comes correct. I love that they have benches outside in case you want to eat out and not in your car. Really useful when I went drunk to their place, usually open late but not early which is understandable. I recommend if you're looking for food quality mainly, not service. Burgers are standard, taste better than McDonald's but not as good as a Shake Shack or Five Guys. read more
