I've visited Panther Coffee on Purdy Avenue in Miami Beach a number of times. Usually it's when my car is across the street at Larry's Service Center for an oil change or some other maintenance work. I love this little coffee shop. I usually do a large cappuccino and a toasted croissant. There's a large variety of pastries available to suit your fancy if croissants don't. The staff has always been attentive, cheery, and helpful. These people really do seem like they enjoy their jobs. There's plenty of seating - whether you need table top space to do some work, or comfy lounge chairs to do some relaxing. They offer complimentary Wi-Fi as well. If you're a coffee lover, or enjoy a quiet place where you can do some work or have a conversation with a friend(s), then this place won't fail you... ever. read more

I was a very big fan when I first tried them at the Wynwood location. I was excited about having a local coffee house. I live closer to the beach location so I started frequenting that location instead. I really like the fact that they keep the milk in glass jars. The temperature of the milk is always perfect and you get a cute shape in your foam. At first the quality of the pastries started suffering. The American coffee got watery and the flavor would be off. Then the espresso drinks started getting bitter and on the acidic side. I was told that they were growing the company too quickly. Since they roast their beans they have been working around the clock to meet up with demand. There are processes that are important in roasting and can be time consuming that must occur in order to address the bitter and acidic issues but since they focused on making money instead of a quality product me and my friends finally stopped going. We were really rooting for them, but this is a greed won out story. Would I rather locally roasted coffee, yes! But not at this level of quality. After being served a subpar coffee one too many times at Panther am back to illy which is pretty darn good! Followed by lavazza. read more

Best coffee in Miami! We are from Sweden so we are used to great coffe, this was one of the few spots for coffee during our stay in Florida!

I have been there several times and have tried the empanadas, scones, cakes, teas and coffee. All good and expensive. The wifi is good and the crowd is pleasant. I would have given a fourth star but the bathroom was messy last time and that leaves an impression. Staff is always friendly and helpful. read more

Everything there is so hipster, edgy and alternative, the coffee is great I just wish they had more parking and seating areas as well as proactively clean outside after people leave. I have visited Panther on Purdy on several occasions. The regular coffee (when adding a very small amount of cream) is ALWAYS cold. It needs to be kept warm in a more efficient manner. Its SO disappointing because the coffee is good. The service is poor, but typical for south beach. The floor by the condiment station is so nasty you can barely lift up your shoes after standing there. Finally, they charge full price for a refill (of the cold coffee). To bad. I had to write this review because I was totally underwhelmed and disappointed by Panther. I've heard about it for years but never got around to trying it. This place is awful. First, we get there and wait behind these two guys for like 10 minutes because the person who should be taking their order and waving them on to wait for their drinks took the order, then made the drink while talking to them and having us stand there. That is not the way it usually works at coffee shops. Finally I was able to order a SMALL black American coffee. Simple. It was three dollars for a cup that was literally smaller than a kids cup. It was like 5 ounces. Half the size of the average "small" at any other coffee joint. Think half the size of a tall at Starbucks. I'm not cheap, it was honestly just ridiculous how much of a rip off it was. The coffee wasn't great, it gave me all of the effects you hate in coffee, jittery, weird, not energized, and a terrible stomach ache. I will not be returning bad service and RIDICULOUSLY overpriced black coffee for sizes that are insulting. read more

We normally love this place! Always a great place to grab quality coffee. Our 3 stars goes for customer service. Walked in 15 min before close and was told they couldn't make coffee because they already shut down the coffee machine.... we understand it's a Friday and people want to go home but the entire store was cleaned and ready to just shut the lights off. While waiting for our dinner reservation, my friends and I stopped in for a quick cup of coffee. We went in half an hour before closing and were greeted with muffled frustration. It was clear they two baristas were not excited we walked in. Three of the four of us ordered lattes and went to sit outside while we waited. When the drinks were ready, the barista brought them to us outside and said, "We don't typically offer table service," with a hint of attitude. It seemed very passive aggressive. Sadly, I'm rating the establishment with two stars. The coffee was excellent but customer service is everything! We had planned to stop in the following morning for breakfast, but decided not to. Beautiful decor, friendly and gifted professional baristas. Espresso is prepared on a La Marzocco Strada EP, and the shop is owned by the master roaster. I tried the two espresso blends, blended and roasted with intent, and it was some of the best blended coffee I have ever had. I also tried a syphon of a really well sourced Kenyan coffee which was phenomenal, circumspectly prepared by graceful and friendly barista Raul. There are lots of things that I could say in a negative way about Panther on Purdy Way. The difficulty parking,(not there fault) the speed of service (it was busy) the strange price structure & the lack of menu, but that would be just picking. I don't understand the three sizes for flat white, but the coffee was as good as I have drank in Florida, if not the US. Far better than the other units and the bean was less bitter. The barista was professional and relatively quick. When it comes to Coffee I am particularly picky. Perhaps a coffee connoisseur. Each cups needs to be blended with perfection with the exact amount of milk to coffee ratio. I believe that their pastries are baked fresh every morning by True Loaf and they are nothing short of perfection.
