A great shop for coffee + more drinks in Midtown. I've heard of Pasion Del Cielo before but have never go to stop by one. Came here before a dinner for a lil energy pick me up and it was such a great location! The area is pretty big with a lot of open seating all around. I was able to work a bit from my laptop and it wasn't too crowded plus had some couch/relaxed seating or tables to work from. This visit, I got the matcha palmer which is a matcha with lemonade. I was nervous about it being too sweet but it was pretty good. I usually don't love drinks like this but it was actually really light and refreshing with the lil boost I needed for an evening pick-me-up. Great spot! read more

The question is this: how many stars should I deduct for the fact that the men's bathroom was in a terrible state on my visit? Answer (for now): one star, to be reevaluated on a repeat visit... There was water (hopefully) on the floor, the hand dryer wasn't working, there was no soap, and the toilet clearly hadn't been cleaned in a while. Regardless, I do love the choose-your-bean concept, though I'm going to deduct a second star for the fact that prices aren't displayed, especially given that the beans apparently vary in price. (FWIW, it actually turns out that the prices are quite reasonable). Anyway, I ultimately enjoyed my coffee and the time I spent here on my laptop; however, I feel that this place can and should do better. read more

Ordered two coffees and a brownie. Sumatra bean iced mocha latte Hawaii Kona bean iced mocha latte Both smalls. They don't take you name, so you have to listen out for your order. Which is troubling when you order is prepared wrong because then you just wait I indefinitely, lol. Eventually they called out a Hawaii Kona and Colombian iced mocha. Clearly not my order as I didn't order Colombian bean. After waiting another 5 or so minutes, I went to the counter and asked if this was my order, the lady who took my order asked, "what did you order" I replied, "Sumatra and Hawaiian Kona bean iced mocha lattes" She read one cup and said, "yes, Hawaiian bean" I replied, "but there other one says Colombian, and one's a medium, mine are both small so I guess that's not my order" She shrugged her shoulders and went back to making coffee. So I waited a few minutes but people who ordered after me began collecting their coffees so I went to the register and spoke to a man asking if I can go over my order. He said that yes that was my order and he would remake the Colombian one into a Sumatran. Pretty good coffee shop! Pretty open and a good place to get some work done. Very clean and modern too. Service was friendly and got my coffee quick. For the brews, you get to pick your base coffee bean which is nice. They have about 8-10 to choose from from around the world. For my drink, I got the Cinasugar Latte with a Colombian Brew. When visiting florida I took absolutely every opportunity to visit pasion del cielo! There coffee is amazing! It's not your typically chain coffee shop but offers a larger variety of coffee beans for your beverage. On the menu boards in the restaurant they describe all the types of beans including acidity, tasting notes and more! It's a great way to help the customers learn more about the coffee they like to drink! They also over a great variety of teas which were all good even though I usually opted for a Brazilian roast coffee with milk. The food was also great! I really enjoyed their chia pudding which was made to the perfect texture and the fruit on top was extremely fresh. read more

This coffee shop checks off all the boxes, great ambiance, spacious, great coffee and I really enjoyed their ham and cheese croissant nicely toasted. I worked out of here the entire day, I liked that the music wasn't too loud and I was able to concentrate. Spacious area with nice strong Brazilian Iced Coffee is pretty much how I sum up my experience here. The downside which isn't this place's fault is their parking situation which to me, ranks in as the absolute worse in all of Miami; there's never enough parking on the street, and the garage isn't convenient to get to, and if it happens to rain our of nowhere, then you're basically screwed. Going back to this place though, they offer a pretty fast internet connection and the space is relaxing to chill out. Service was fast and courteous with no issues and prices fair. I might've walked in with too high of a standard. I came in thinking there would be unique signature drinks, instead I saw standard drinks you would see at Starbucks. I ordered a latté to keep things simple and so I could taste the full flavor of the Sumatra coffee. I was kinda disappointed when I didn't get decent latte art when I requested it and tipped extra for it. I got a messed up heart..wow. Pictures that other customers took had their coffee beautifully prepared in a mug while mine came in a paper to-go cup. My advice to the management: keep your standards consistent and high so customers can share good experiences. I usually like to have a sweet pastry of some sort with unsweetened coffee, and I'm sorry to say that none of the baked goods look appealing. They all look like they came from the store. My drink was not bad though, the coffee was really fragrant. I do recommend trying this place if you haven't but it's too similar to Starbucks for me to want to go back anytime soon. By the way they have very relaxed atmosphere perfect to do some research/work on your laptop, or have a small meeting with a friend or two. Plenty of seating and some nice mellow music playing in the background. There was little to no wait to be attended to which is always a plus seeing that I can be indecisive and may need a suggestion from the cashier. I came here in the morning, since I was giving my daughter a haircut next to pasion del cielo. My sister had said that she had come here before and that she thought their coffee was very good. Since I had not drank any coffee I decided to stop by and get some. Of course there is only street parking. When you first walk in, is pretty spacious and there is lots of seating areas inside, outside is about two tables only, well at least there were only two tables when I was there. So basically my sister placed the order, I had the a latte, the lady asked which coffee I wanted, since I had no idea I told her something strong and she advice the Kenya/ Kichwa Tembo, with a margarita empanada my sister ordered a caramel cappuccino with a spinach and cheese empanada. Well I have to say that the margarita empanada was very fresh and delicious, I can't say the same for my latte, it was just ok nothing special. I also tried my sister's caramel cappuccino and it was just ok. I have to say I have tried better, I did love the empanadas. I will give them another try since I really liked their empanadas. Coffees are good however this place is just way over priced and not worth it. Here's why: Had 4 empanadas for 25$ !!!! Just empanadas. I could have gotten delicious Colombian empanadas for 1/4 of the price and their much much better. Not only are they overpriced, these empanadas were undercooked; it's was a doughy gooey bread like substance, not what an empanada is supposed to be: crispy and flaky. Worst of it all, I returned the empanadas and they told me that's how they make it. WOW they have no clue, that's should say it all. read more

I could just hang out here all day! I've been to the two other Pasión del Cielo outposts and can definitively say this one is my favorite! Walking in, I immediately took note of how large and open it is. Not to mention, it has that new shop smell (or maybe that's just the coffee). The drinks are the same as the other shops - pick what kind of drink you are in the mood for, what country you want your beans from and just like that, your caffeine boost is on it's way. On my last visit, it was a little too late in the day for coffee so I went for a Chai frappe that was better than I was expecting! Would definitely recommend to any non-coffee drinker.
