Come here from time to time and I have to say this place is consistently inconsistent. I usually get the same items and one time I'll get a paper cup, then another a plastic, and yet another I'll get a proper chalice for my nitro cold brew. Same for my girlfriend's latte... never comes in the same type of cup. No matter if I always tell them "for here" it is always different. The service is also leaves a bit to be desired. Have yet to encounter an "overly-friendly" barista. Oh and they do have a rewards program but apparently their system "tracks stars" but it will not apply your rewards unless you tell them that you are due and for them to apply it to your order ahead of time. So you will have to do some work to get rewarded for your patronage. Even though I live in Miami Beach, it might be worth the drive across the bridge, to patronize Pasion del Cielo Coffee in mid-town. read more

In South Florida there is no finer dealer to enable my caffeine cravings than Panther Coffee. Panther Coffee takes each step of the coffee process very seriously. From the responsible sourcing of the beans to their thoughtful roasting and the careful brewing of their drinks. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and the results carry over into unforgettable cups of coffee greatness. I usually go with their Cappuccino which balances the bitter coffee with frothy milk and without the intrusion of the sugary sweetness of so many other varieties. It is the perfect companion to late Miami evenings and hangover recovery mornings. For years Panther had been slinging their coffee to the artists in Miami's Wynwood district and Panther has grown and developed the same way that neighborhood has exploded. Now Panther coffee is available at local Whole Foods and in some of the most forward thinking restaurants in the area. The community flavor is reciprocated in the baked goods that they serve which come from some of the best local purveyors like Bunnie Cakes. This South Beach outpost of Panther Coffee gets everything right about the coffee and has the added benefit of a more upscale (yet still raw) interior design and a lot more space for indoor seating. Also missing seems to be the never-ending line of the Wynwood location. Panther is my new best friend. Can we keep the place secret before it gets invaded by South Beach Fembots? Seriously. Go in and have a look around. Have a cup of coffee and maybe some quiche. When is the last time (in South Beach) you were helped by someone who was friendly, knowledgeable about their product, offered great suggestions AND appeared to have zero body parts surgically enhanced??? I know it sounds crazy, but I'm for real! My coffee has been great every time I visit. I drink lots of strong, black coffee, so I can only comment on that. Unsure of the other drinks. I'm a real fan of the aesthetic. Love the exposed joists and ducts. There's lots of space to stand while checking out the cool items for sale, or for having a seat. Good magazines as well. The vibe is friendly and pretty mellow. When I'm there, I close my eyes and pretend I'm home in Brooklyn. Delicious. read more

This coffee is not terrible. It is also, not excellent. In San Francisco, Seattle, or NYC this would be at most, a reach for a 3 star place. However, since it is in none of those places, and because it is in Miami Beach, it's pretty damn good coffee, very relatively speaking. It's just not actually, factually good coffee. Coffee shops with study space are hard to come by in Miami, so I'm glad I found Panther! I came here on a Wednesday around 4:30 and by 5pm (till 7pm/closing time) there was plenty of space for me to sprawl out my books. I ordered the 12 oz. coffee, which interestingly came in its own dispenser and with a small empty mug. While I thought it was a neat presentation to allow customers to mix their own coffee, not all of my coffee could fit inside the small mug, and the remaining coffee got cold quickly. Another few caveats were that the wifi was slow (albeit got the job done), and a few of the song selections were distracting. Even with these drawbacks though, the design and environment of Panther is so well-curated and there's a general sense of respect for the space that makes it 5-stars in my book. read more

Was originally a big fan of the coffee at the Wynwood location, but couldn't really handle the long lines, the crowds of hipsters and the fact that it's slightly larger than a 1 car garage. Discovered this location a few months back and absolutely love it. Coffee is great, really calm atmosphere, and never crowded. The only reason why I took a star off is because the parking is awful, as it is in most places around the beach. Well, they have figured out how to get people in the door and paying $5 for a very average tasting 12oz latte, but I am not sure why. Reading the other reviews, and having just left the place myself, I guess they are long on East Coast Nobody says "Excuse Me" atmosphere; but being a native Seattle/GPNW person I have to say the coffee is no better than you can get in your hotel, and their drink output rate was strangely and oddly - slow. They had 3 women working, but it was not apparently focused on reducing the amount of people waiting for drinks. I will take a Cafe con leche from the MIA airport any day of the week over what I had here. And yes, I am allowing for added sugar or not. Plus, they crank 'em out and you are enjoying your order before regretting how much you just paid for it. read more

Really great coffee bar! Plenty of seating and free WiFi. They don't have a ton of food choices but we did enjoy a large cookie. I ordered my usual latte and it was well prepared. Temperature was slightly on the hot side but the milk was really textured well and the barista threw down some really nice latte art. They sell some merch and of course coffee so you don't have to leave empty handed. All in all a really nice spot. read more

My latte was nutty without a bitter taste. 2nd time) I went back again and there were no pastries left, they gave me double expresso hot instead of iced and service was horrible. We sat outside and our table had other peoples dirty cups. I let them know and no one came to clean. They hand you the drinks at the bar even when you are sitting outside. I had to make two trips because they would'nt bring it out to me. When I told her I was sitting outside well take the drinks outside she ignored me and didnt answer. Then I sat outside for a few minutes waiting but nothing came. When I went back inside her response was "we dont have service here" I was shocked. I also tipped in advance because it had the option. We were visiting Wynwood Art Walls while in Miami and found Panther coffee on our way in. The coffee is fabulous. I love the pure coffee flavor, as I'm an Americano girl, black, no nuthin' in it. We bought a few bags of espresso to take home and have continued to enjoy it. My only complaint is the lack of seating inside, plus the clunkiness of the waiting area after you order. It's butted up against their roasting area, and it was standing room only like at a concert! Outside had plenty of seating though, but lots and lots of locals with laptops, so not much room for guests. We waiting to score a spot, then just decided to walk with our coffees. All in all, awesome vibe, great coffee, and convenient that it's next to Freshi, so you can get a healthy bite to eat, then go grab a coffee on your way to walk the art walls. read more

Just got a small tumeric ginger tea for $5.35. Fine, that is the SoBe premium. But when I asked for honey (getting over a cold, and I wanted the honey to soothe my throat), the barrista informed me that they sell it for $2. Really? I was ecstatic the moment I found out Panther would be opening a location in the Sunset Harbour neighborhood. With the new parking garage, it's so easy to hit up that area without a cause for concern. While I've sampled various lattes and hot coffee drinks at outposts serving up their awesome roasts, on my 2 visits to the new Panther location, my order has been limited to the cold brew. But what a damn fine cold brew it is! Icy and refreshing, with a nice bite to it, even 12 oz. of this will have you buzzing all day! Of course, they have a selection of cream/milk and sweeteners just off to the side to dress up your beverage just the way you like. They also serve up a number of delicious pastries from South Beach's own Lee & Marie's Bakery. Gotta love the show of small business support. So why 4 stars instead of 5? A couple of reasons. First, can a girl get some skim milk with her coffee? Sometimes I just don't want the extra fat or sweetness that comes from half & half or whole milk. Second, I've been less than enthralled by their staff, having been met with vacant looks and nonchalance on both visits thus far. We stopped by Panther Coffee after having brunch down the block at Pubbelly Sushi and needed some caffeine. Since it was a humid Miami day, I opted for the Cold Brew (16 oz., $4.50, http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/panther-coffee-miami?select=Le7l_kCo2pOkN7-SJdWccw#Le7l_kCo2pOkN7-SJdWccw), which is brewed for 9 hours. They advertise that it has notes of malted milk, deep chocolate, vanilla, and honey, and they aren't exaggerating- this coffee was deliciously smooth, and rivals the great coffee places in the West Coast (Blue Bottle, Stumptown, etc). I made the mistake of adding soy milk to the coffee, but preferred drinking it "black". My friend got the Cortadito (2.25 oz, $5), and the espresso was also super smooth tasting, but there was too much milk for both our preferences. I've also tried a cup of their Chapadao de Ferro (Brazil, $3) when I was at Michael's Genuine for brunch, which I enjoyed since it was very smooth tasting. The coffee shop was busy when we got there around 2pm on a Saturday, but there was no line at the time and we got our coffees in less than 10 minutes (I got mine right away but the cortadito took a bit longer). The biggest negative about coming here is finding parking, although there is a large parking garage (your best option) across the street, and very limited street parking available. read more

I am no coFFEE connoisseur, but I'm sure all the connoisseur out there would agrEE, this is the best cup of Joe in Miami. This South Beach location is chiLL and relaxing. I can get a lot of paperwork and studying done here. The place is beautiful, the people are beautiful, and the if service could be beautiful, it would be tOO. Love the interior design....Love the friendly (and sometimes sarcastic) employees....Love that they sell local Florida beers, Love the free wifi & that there are so many outlets to charge my electronics....I also love that, by default, they fill your cup in a "to stay" glass or mug instead of assuming you're taking it to go....I love that they are family owned & giving the big guys (I'm looking at you Starbucks) a run for their money! And of course...... I LOVE THEIR COFFEE!!! My go to fix is their signature drip coffee (hot or on the rocks). I drink it black, no sugar added bc the coffee isn't bitter at all. It has this refreshing nutty, caramel-y flavor that needs nothing more added to it. It's coffee bean roasting at it's best! I've also enjoyed their cappuccino and purchased many a pound of the whole bean Brazilian roast. The pastries and packaged goodies are also nice and mostly purchased from local bakeries & vendors- way to support our MIA economy!!! ***I don't like that they charge for a refill of regular drip coffee (hot or iced). And I wish there were a few more locations...like say downtown/Brickell or even SoFi which is a lot closer to me. But still....this is my favorite coffee shop/chill spot in Miami! What a Gem! I love everything about this place. The decor, the vibe, the local, non-touristy feel, the long tables with swing-out seats. The coffee was as good as everybody here raves. MIAMI is very lucky to have this place. Try to park in the garage ($1/hr), and don't worry about your meter running. The plan latte was the best coffee I've had in the 305. Plus make sure you walk to TRUE LOAF next door, and the park to enjoy the Bay. read more

Great location for panther coffee. I enjoy the set up up here a bit more than the Wynwood location because the inside is larger and a bit grander. I like the wraparound bar where you can watch them make your coffee at all angles! Great selection of coffees from all over! Love that they have so many options of manually making your coffee from French Press to Chemex Drip and so much more Plus the staff is super friendly and always helpful for those that aren't coffee savvy. It looks a bit more upscale but I guess that its because its the beach! The only drawback is that there isnt a lot of outdoor seating which is a great plus for the Wynwood location. What a fab place to grab coffee! Love the location and the fact that it's glass windows all around. Sipping on my coffee watching others break out their laps tops inspired me to work harder on what I was working on. It's a great vibe. The long table off to the side with the attached seats is simply the best. The coffee was served with a smile and was just the perfect blend. Price was fair and there were so many treats to try it was hard to pick. Love the variety and how everything gets displayed. Also have to comment on the fact that it was insanely clean! I love this place. I REALLY do. I come here at least three times a week. I love their coffee, the atmosphere, and the delicious snacks. But I think at this point it's worth mentioning that one of their baristas has ruined my past experiences there. The short Asian looking Barista with black hair is incredibly rude and always has a bad attitude. I've caught her snapping at people countless times. She clearly can't handle the pressure. Incessant ghetto hip hop noise blasting out of the jukebox in this joint which is by far the only real daytime hangout in Miami's posh Sunset Harbor. The coffee itself is unique and flavorful and the space purports to be hipster cool: warehouse theme, all ducts and concrete with uncomfortable cubist seating inside and outside. They have free wifi and just about everybody looks plugged in as in a library. However you may soon discover that all the plugged-in scholars in residence are on Facebook or Tinder or reading celebrity gossip online!! Panther, Panther, Panther that is all I kept hearing around town. I love coffee maybe to the point that some might say it's an addiction. Either way It was time I tried this place out and let my taste buds be the judge. Great location tucked away in a nice little quite area of Miami Beach. Interior of this location looks amazing but could get a little confusing. Wasn't sure where to place the order or pick up but finally someone decided to assist. Trying to break out of the old Starbucks mentality, the wife and I asked for assistance with their menu and process. Girl behind the counter was super brief, so short that all she pointed out was three areas of the menu. "East cost, west cost and cold brew" ... Umm okay!? Didn't really explain anything. I tried to end this awkward moment swiftly so I jumped the gun and got the cold brew. Lucky for the wife, she read up prior to arriving and heard the cappuccino was a good choice. Before finalizing our order we asked about their delicious looking cookies we've seen on the one an only Yelp! Rep/barista/employee/whatever she was says "sorry we don't have many." And just pointed to one lonely cookie tucked away behind a glass container. Hmm bummer. We finally get our coffee and to our surprise, it was worth the drive. Strong, Great taste, and delightful. Why the three stars? Like other reviews, their staff isn't the friendliest or really helpful. Maybe it was Sunday and 2 hours before closing, not sure but I'll definitely return.
