I've loved PG's since I was a child., The flavor of the pizza has not changed. The service and the ambiance remain much the same in the PG's I've visited. A little worn in some areas, but, not much. Perhaps, they are waiting to update their restaurants when more needs to be done or even more business is achieved? I've enjoyed their pizza since I was a child. But, stopped frequenting when I worked in a different place. I moved to yet another place, and was unsure they would be the same, but, they are. Thank you, for retaining their flavor, ambiance, and procedures, therefore, the staff behaves similarly. If, I could change anything; it would be how salads are processed and stored. I have been eating here for decades. Like everyone, I love pizza, and I consider myself a pizza connoisseur. This pizza is actually great. It is a little thicker than strictly classic NYC style. The crust is a bit more robust. It's hard on the outside, and has a nice texture and crunch to it. But not too hard. The cheese is great, not too greasy. But it's the sauce that is so wonderful. Tastes like fresh tomatoes, with a touch of olive oil. Sweet but not too sweet. Pro tip: ask them to cook it a little extra, so the crust is browned and crispy, but not well done. And what's wonderful is their subs and other items, hot dogs in particular (!) are wonderful too. This is fantastic food. And this location (Sudbury) is always clean, easy to park, quiet, with a very friendly staff; this is a really nice dining experience. read more

Poor food. Rude service. Restaurant and kitchen dirty. Avoid this place. There are much better pizza restaurants in the area.

I would definitely avoid this Papa Gino's, especially on busy nights. When this place gets loaded with orders, things get backed up and the pickup times promised go out the window. The staff here seems a bit flustered and overwhelmed here, but there was no staff shortage in the kitchen. Uber Eats and DoorDash delivery people were here to pickup orders and both had to wait over 40 minutes each for their orders to be ready. Their customers were probably not very happy with the long delays and lateness caused by the Sudbury Papa Gino's and took it out their frustrations on the delivery folks, who are also losing money by waiting for the delayed orders and could be on other deliveries making money. It should be the restaurant bearing the brunt of the customer frustrations instead of the people delivering food to hungry customers. read more

Sad that the local Papa Gino's closed in Framingham. The one in Natick on the pike closes at 5:30pm, so had to expand my search to satisfy my PG craving. Ordered online for the first time, placed order at 8:10pm and the site said 8:42pm pickup time, when they close at 8:30pm. No idea why people bother doing delivery, I've never had a good experience getting food delivered, it's always cold. Anyways, left immediately and got there around 8:20. Waited about 4 minutes and they called my order. Got a burger with fries, and an italian for lunch tomorrow. No complaints, got my Papa Gino's craving satisfied. read more

I think Papa Gino's is one of those places that has been around for a long time and so you kind of know what to expect eating here. Rarely, do you get to taste something that brings back childhood memories of pizza parties and when going out to eat was a special treat reserved for special occasions. I was saddened when a number of Papa Gino's restaurants abruptly closed their doors and this location seems to be one of the few around. I totally get the feels for nostalgia and this definitely fits the bill in that department. But now for the food. The pizza, was it ever good? I mean a thin flat underdone crust that is almost inedible because the crust is overbaked but the pizza underdone? with a layer of orange grease on top that you sop up with your napkins. I think this was how it was years ago when a slice of pizza regardless of quality was a treat. This is the one pizza that tastes god dipped in ketchup. Again, was this because it needed something? not sure why I did this as a kid but I still do. I also ordered a steak and cheese which is a just anon NO. it was of like finely chopped Hamburg quality steak with little to no cheese and almost no mushrooms on a roll. The chicken parmesan was equally as bad. I would just say stick to the pizzas and forget sandwiches or subs. How about cost? Yikes to food prices overall. But, the quality for x1 large pizza, 1x small pizza and x2 subs that were just bad = $62. I just felt like it wasn't worth the price based on quality. What a lovely surprise to find a Papa Gino's in Sudbury . I haven't been in years since Natick route 9 location. The staff was professional and so very nice. The food was everything and more then I remembered. The whole experience was fantastic, they made my day. This staff was helpful patient and kind, A+ experience. The stores dining area was damaged from the intense rain we have been getting but thats fine we will be back to eat when the dining area is repaired because it looks very nice and clean. read more

Stay away! Not a safe place to buy pizza during Covid-19. Was stuck waiting in the store about an extra 20 minutes given they lied about how long it would take to make my pizza. While there, watching the staff work because I was waiting so long, the main person making the pizza constantly pulled his mask down to talk with co-workers. We went here the other night for takeout since all our Framingham Papa Ginos closed. It was a bit of a drive, but in the end it was worth it. When we got there our food was ready and the person who rang us out also checked our order to make sure it was right before giving it to us. I was really happy with that! They messed up my order by putting pickles on my fathers sub who is allergic. I called and after speaking to one man he put me on with a woman who said she was the district manager. I told her what happened and asked if they can deliver a new sub. She gave me attitude because i was a half mile out of there delivery zone, I stated that i was just outside the zone and said ill even tip your driver and i just wanted my father to eat tonight. I am very torn here. On the one hand - Papa Gino's (or as my friend Stu K. would call it "Papa G's") is a staple of the Route 20 restuarant scene, or as I like to call it: "The Restaurant Riviera." It's been around for a while, and you cannot mess with the loyal following that it has. But on the other hand, why oh why would you ever get rid of the Papa Platter?!?!? I know people (shout out to Jeff C.) that are quite upset about this. The fancy pants pizzas don't cut it for some of us, so I implore the good folks at Papa G's to continue their search for culinary perfection in a pan, but stick with the old favorites as well. read more

Be prepared, this is a scathing review. To start off, I have been coming here each Sunday for the past few months. Always loved it. Always quiet during the day. I arrive today with a friend. We ordered an Italian sub and bread sticks. After a few errors in making a simple sub they get it right after an hour. I swear to you they were all stoned. I spoke to the manager who even had bloodshot eyes! They had to have all been wasted as evidence they could not get a simple order right that took forever. I was shocked. I am never coming here again. The manager gave us a full refund and I took the order to go. The sub went right in the trash the moment I got home. I did not want to take my chances eating a sub made by teenage delinquents. I am calling corporate and filing a formal complaint. 6 Month update: I did contact corporate and they were very kind and apologized profusely for the issues I had. Late Sunday night, hubby and I decided to stop by for a quick pizza pick up after a long day! We have a Rewards card, since we have always been loyal Papa Gino's patrons. After recently moving to the neighborhood, this would be our first visit to this location. We asked the cashier whether there were any coupons we could use, to which he promptly replied "no". After paying the full $20.58 for an x-large pizza, we picked up a flyer off their own counter, offering $2 off an x-large pizza, which is what we had ordered. In the meantime we decided to get a drink and asked whether we could use the $2 off coupon on the purchase we had just made, as well as to purchase the drink. We were shocked when the manager, Kevin, shouted from the back of the store that we could not use the coupon today, but could use it on our next visit and that the drink would be $1.99! Seriously?? Next time?? I don't think so! I am beyond shocked with the lack of customer service of this location, after many visits of excellent service at the Natick location. Judging by the star rating of this location, we are not the first unhappy customers. I would urge corporate to take a look into the current management and lack of customer service/friendliness in this location.
