Well, we got the large Texas bbq chicken pizza. Sounds fun but was not. I suggest more than 4 ounces of day old very dry diced chicken pieces and maybe a few more onion slices since they were paper thin. Sauce was what the distributor offers. Add some bacon, carmelize the onions and a light sprinkle of a yellow cheddar to give it some life. Be a pizza artist. Texas BBQ Pizza should present a wow factor here if we're calling this "Gourmet" pizza in Sudbury. I would put the large dough ball used in a med pan so it would've had some body, depth and chew to it vs the thin cardboard consistency that it was. I'm not trashing the business but put ya damn heart into the pizza at least if your gonna call it gourmet, Especially at $23+ Look there's a million pizza places. By far the most sweetest staff ever! I come in a lot to get a slice of pizza because I work next door to cjs. The lady who works up front is so sweet along with the other staff. She ALWAYS greats me with a big smile, x's out of the tip for me and today she gave me a soda on the house. I was having a really hard day and she made my day a lot better without knowing. This location is very good because there's a little traffic jam up ahead of it and I often get hungry enough to pull over. They have a beautifully done menu, and the people who work there are super friendly. They always have pizza slices ready to be eaten, that are fabulous and lots of chips and drinks and desserts ready for Takeaway. Plenty of choices for vegetarians, and plenty for meat eaters. I've had three different subs there and they've all been among the best I've ever had. Greetings, Yelpers. I've been strangely silent lately. I've been staying in the small town of Sudbury recently due to ear problems. Odd as it may sound, I developed an infection in my right ear and Swimmer's Ear in my left (totally unrelated to each other). I am currently staying with a dear, old friend who is caring for me, putting in drops, driving me to appointments, etc. One day, on the way back from the doctors, I got in the mood for pizza. I whipped out my phone and fired up my good, old Yelp app and found the 5-star-rated CJ's was very close. I figured it had to be good, after all it had 5-stars (I now suspect that all eight of the reviewers are either close friends or family). There is NO WAY this place is worth 5-stars. I don't accept it. My pal and I ordered a large cheese pie to share and I decided to get a chicken parm for myself. First, let's talk about the pizza. It was okay. On the level of your basic Pizza Hut. If I had only eaten the pizza that day, I would have probably given CJ's two or three stars. However, I can say without exaggeration, the chicken parm sub was the worst I have ever ordered in my entire life. I find myself still feeling a bit upset about it as I write this review. The chicken wasn't breaded. Come on? Really? A chicken parm and it's not breaded? The chicken had a gummy texture, almost as it it were steamed or boiled. Is this a joke, CJ? I mean, after all, you have "grill" right in your name! The bread was drenched in mediocre tomato sauce, and, worst of all, there was no melted cheese. WHAT??????? Maybe I'm being too hard on CJ's. After all, I shouldn't call this the worst chicken parm I've ever eaten, because it wasn't even chicken parm! Obviously, none of those 5-star "reviewers" ordered what I did . What a disgrace. Had CJ's for the first time last night. Ordered the cheese lovers pizza. Although I was surprised it didn't have sauce it was very tasty. Basically just cheesy bread but the crust was cooked to perfection. Also ordered a steak Caesar salad which was perfectly cooked steak and crispy tasteful lettuce. Disappointing is being kind. Ordered a steak and cheese, half the ingredients were missing and it was full of gristle. The the buffalo tenders were tough and the dressing was off. Best part, because it was a carry out order, we only realized it after we got home and sat down to eat. So basically we had fries for dinner. read more

This place just knocks it out of the park on every level. The storefront's a bit nondescript, but once you get in the ambiance is actually quite nice for a sub/pizza shop. And good god it smells incredible. Food is great, Blue Buffalo could use a bit more buffalo (but I always say that). I'll be asking next time. read more

Went in for a slice, they leave huge basil leaves in their sauce so they wind up in the pizza. When my daughter was utterly disgusted by finding a leaf in her pizza, I went to get a fresh slice for her. The charged me an additional $2.94 for the second slice, last time I ever give them my business. Pretty disappointed to pay $5.88 for 1 good slice of pizza. read more

I love the pizza and appreciate them having slices to go. However at both locations in Sudbury and Hudson some staff are not wearing masks or wearing them under their chin. They have signs on the door requiring patrons to wear a mask covering their mouth and nose. Why aren't the employees doing the same thing. Infection rates are going up in the state so now I'm probably never going to go to either location again. If someone can't wear a mask properly have them be back in the kitchen and not near customers!! read more

I will say though, CJ's is very good - in fact it's one of the better places I've been to for Pizza in the area. A great addition to the neighborhood, especially when takeout is not close-by in the thriving metropolis known as Sudbury. My wife is pregnant and being able to pick up a hot pepperoni and mushroom pie makes me a hero in our house. They also make a tasty Caesar salad and buffalo wings. I have not tried the subs but most of the time they only need about 15 minutes for pickup and the folks at the counter are friendly. We love CJ's in this house! read more

We've tried a number of pizza places in Sudbury but none of them compare with CJ's. The Godfather's pizza is amazing but just about every type of pizza we've tried has been yummy. The vegetarian is a little bland so add some garlic powder and crushed red pepper to spice it up a bit. Quick, pleasant service. Relative to other Pizza joints, I thought CJs does a pretty good job with respect to their pizza. The toppings are of higher quality and the menu is a little different which is welcomed after visiting a lot of pizza joints that seemingly have the exact same menu. As far as the pizza is concerned, I found the flavors to be very pleasing. The sauce seemed fresh and the crust was light and seemed to enhance the overall pizza flavor. To be critical, however, they put too much cheese on their pizzas. The crust to cheese ratio needs to be preserved properly. The cheese is good, but after throwing down a couple of slices, the richness of the cheese gets in the way of wanting more. Also, though I enjoyed the crust, I recognized that the pizza got soggy quick, which was a little bit of a downer. Still, this place is one of the better pizza places around here. Now, if CJs were in NYC, my review would be a little different. read more

I think 4 stars is spot on. My cousin introduced me to this place when our families met up for pizza and ate at an outside table together. They serve a good pizza as well as chicken tenders and fries. I prefer sicilian style, but I am not sure if they have it or not. Their BLT is a generous size with lots of bacon. We recently picked up burgers here, which actually were a pleasant surprise. Their staff members are always nice and while they don't have unlimited seating (who does?), my kids and I happily eat there at the stools near the window or an open table.
