Stopped in for a quick lunch. Ordered the Cuban sandwich and the potato ball. Both were very good. Great fast and polite service also. Will definitely stop by again when I'm in the area

We were on our way to another (shall remain nameless) highly touted sandwich place, quickly surveyed what would have been at least an hour long line (outside the building), then made our way north to Papa Joe's. While Papa Joe's may not look like much, they take Cubans seriously. Coincidentally, we ALSO take Cubans very seriously, ordering them almost every time a restaurant brags about this glorious go-to sandwich. And if Cuban is in the name? Oh yes, we're ordering one...annnnd maybe one to go. We ordered the large signature cuban with grilled onions and a black bean side. FANTASTIC. Seasoning and spices were on point. Textured, pressed, hot roll...everything you want in an authentic cuban. The only thing we'd like to see is a double meat option so we can REALLY fill out the bread. Just a little bit of hot sauce brought out all the flavors. We look forward to our next trip to PJ's, cuban sandwich, and black bean TUB. We'd also like to see a gun rack of hot sauces (instead of packets) to compliment such a great sandwich and sides.

Customer Service was great!!! I didn't get any special just got a 7inch cuban with ham n pork bc I like a certain type of chips n drink with mines lol. It was good, made just how I wanted it...no complaints! The pork was tasty & the ham was thin sliced which I love I hate thick ham. I will most definitely visit in the future

Okay so, I have to admit that I've been to Papa Joe's Cuban sandwich shop twice this week. The first day I went, I ordered Meal Deal. I chose a small Ybor City Cuban. The deal comes with a fountain drink (but they offered me a drink out of the refrigerator), and chips or a side. I got black beans and yellow rice for my side. The Cuban is one of the best that I've tasted here in Tampa! Today, I got the barbecue pork plate. It comes with two sides either french fries, black beans and rice, or potato salad. They didn't have french fries so ordered black beans and rice. The pork was tender, juicy, and delicious. And, I enjoy the flavor of the black beans and yellow rice. The customer service is stellar. The staff is friendly. Both times that I went, they greeted us with a smile. They're quick, too! Your order comes out rapidly and I appreciate that because I don't have a lot of time to eat lunch. You've got to try Papa Joe's. You will not regret it :-)

Cute place but just your average sandwich place. I had Cubans here and they're good. I decided to get a Philly cheesesteak and it was average. Meat was decent, roll was dry and crumbling apart and the cheese ok. The deviled crabs are decent, good amount of filling but are on par with the other ones of this style. Not like a Brocato's or a Cacciatore and Sons deviled crabs. Next time I go I might try the muffalatta or the roast beef sub.

Got the Cuban because of the amazing reviews. Walking in you get hit by the cooked pork, very aromatic oregano. Will not disappoint. I got the seven inch and filling enough. The staff is very friendly. Going to be a weekly stop while in town.

Pretty solid Cuban. By default, they wanna put Mayo on their Cubans, but I'm all authentic and what not, so ordered it with the basic 7 ingredients. The sandwich, while is a little lighter on meat than their advertisement, was tasty. What stood out was the pork. It was definitely fresh, as evidenced by its juiciness and tenderness. The flavor was spot on, and by that, I mean it wasn't overpowered by mojo marinade, which is a major no-no for me. I don't mind the mojo, but I need to be able to taste the pork, and that's not an issue here. Very well executed. My only gripe is that the sandwich is pressed to where the entire sandwich was hot throughout. The Cuban is a cold cut sub, and should only be pressed long enough to heat up the bread, traditionally. Not a deal breaker though. I'd eat this sandwich again if given the opportunity. CUBAN SANDWICH REPORT CARD: Bread: Fresh, La Segunda Ham: Lunch meat Pork: Pernil Al Horno Salami: Yes Swiss: Yes Mustard: Yes Pickles: Yes Pressed: Yes Lettuce/Tomato/Mayo: Upon request Rating: 4.0 / 5.0

Barely any meat, mustard overload, and no cheese in spite of ordering extra cheese. An awful disappointment.

It got to the point that he and another employee were joking too much with each other. Nothing inappropriate, mostly work related, but not how servers should be. On the plus side, he was better than the one I had here previously who dropped off our food and never returned. We were out of drinks most of our meal, sat for 15-20 minutes after we were done with our meal before he came by asking "do you need anything else?" It is Olive Garden. Get your food then hope and pray you do not need anything else. 24.05.2026

Depending on when you visit, the wait can get pretty long, so I recommend using the Olive Garden app to get on the waiting list ahead of time. It definitely helps cut down the wait. I've been to this location more times than I can count, and overall, I don't have any major complaints. There's plenty of parking around the restaurant, and if the wait is too long, there are several other spots to eat within just a few minutes' drive. On our most recent visit, I ordered the classic spaghetti and meatballs. I did have to send the first plate back because the pasta wasn't cooked right, but the staff handled it quickly and brought out a new plate that was spot-on. My wife had the shrimp alfredo with soup on the side, which she really enjoyed, and I went with the salad (always a solid choice). They usually have about four soups to pick from, so there's something for everyone. You can't complain about the staff -- they're very hard-working people who really try to make your experience a nice one. It's a chain restaurant with medium to high prices, and overall, you get what you pay for -- consistent food, friendly service, and a comfortable place to eat.

I came in and used their kiosk and scanned the Portillos's card which is on my phone. It's so easy and never used it before. I was able to get a regular Italian beef sandwich for free, & order a large strawberry shake. Both were soooo good. I waited at the next counter to get my food. Everyone was so nice and while I hung out there, at least three to four people asked if I needed anything. They didn't ignore me at all. Just smiled and asked if there was anything they could do to assist. That was def excellent customer service. I brought my Italian beef sandwich to the Xmas parade in Sarasota at UTC mall and I thought it was funny that at least 3 different people asked where I got the Portillo's from and if there was one in the area. I just said nope it's from Brandon. So cool to see that just a simple Portillo's bag could spark people's attention. It's so good! Can't wait for the one by Tampa Outlet mall to open. That would be closer for me.
