    1/2 is the large deluxe

Had a great experience last night. A great takeout place if you want a delicious sub or salad they also have a few other items on the menu as well. A sign is posted on the door requesting all guests wear a mask. We were greater by friendly staff and placed our order. The staff asked if we would like to wait in our car and they would bring our order out to us. It did not take long for the good to come out. I ordered the large deluxe which is hot buttered cheese steak with onions and mushrooms. Not only was the sub hot it was absolutely delicious. The bread was so soft and fresh it really took the sub to a whole nother level. I also had a large order of fries. The fries were not greasy and were very crisp. My wife had the tuna salad and just raved about it. In all a great experience. We will definitely be back.

For about 9 bucks and 6 minutes you can get a blazing hot barbecue beef sub with very soft white bread. The roast beef had basically no barbecue sauce- just a tiny bit- and had a gamey almost gyro taste to it. Not bad but not expected. Plain, didn't come with the mayo I asked for.

    Tuesday Pasta Special

I was in my hometown of Eastlake, Ohio a suburb of Cleveland when my 85 year old mother asked me to pick her up some carry out from one of her local favorites Papa Joe's Subs & Pasta. Being a Tuesday she knew it would be busy since they have a pasta dinner special every Tuesday. You get your choice of Rigatoni or spaghetti with you choice of sausage or meatballs. This also includes garlic bread and a side salad. The special comes in three sizes: single, double or family. Mom obviously chose the single which is a bargain for $6.55. She claims that she will get multiple meals for this and raves about how good it is the next day. This family run business has been an Eastlake staple since 1973. They are right on Vine Street which is a well known part of Lake County. The next time you're on the East Side of Cleveland make sure to stop into Papa Joe's

I used to eat hear all the time when I was in high school. It's still a great sub shop. I like their All Italian Sub; the Italian dressing they use is great and there is a ton of meat. I also love the Sausage Torpedoe with mushrooms and provolone. And you can't forget their Fried Mushrooms...mmm! They also have their bucket of spaghetti or rigatoni family dinner. Sounds better than KFC.

I have been going to papa Jose's for over 20 years. Great place to get a sub or a dinner when you're in a pinch.

The salads now come in small rectangular box, not round any longer. Too small for the price.

Overcharged on food item. Not cool. Price listed but forced to pay more. Just be aware when you order. Listed prices are not honored.

Great subs. Have been for years. Fired mushrooms can't be beat either. The Italian sub is great, so is their turkey sub.

And Saturday night is date night so we were going out no matter what. Now, lest you think we are completely out of our minds, we had resigned ourselves to staying near home and for this evening, fine dining was out of the picture. So we chose an ever popular with the masses, little, community centered Italian restaurant close by. "Dino's Restaurant" is a mainstay local eatery that has been serving good Italian food to my community for ever. I really don't know how long they've been here but I've been here over 50 years and I'm sure they've been here before me. That alone speaks volumes to the quality of food and service you can expect there. Is the food the best I've ever had... probably not... my Nona's was the best. Is it as good as some of the extraordinary dishes I experienced at the high caliber establishments? That's not apples to apples. This is every night of the week, just got home from work, Italian family all sitting around the dinner table waiting for momma to bring out the evenings offerings, food. It's not fancy. It's not something you never heard of. It's simply good, wholesome, stick-to-your-ribs, eat till you can't eat anymore food. I enjoyed a fresh, crispy salad with vinegar & oil and dry blue cheese. Followed by 3 big pieces of "Chicken Piccata" in a nice sauce. With a side vegetable and a refreshing "Arnold Palmer" to wash it all down. Afterwards we enjoyed a good cup of coffee and a slice of "Mascarpone cake". When my wife and I were done I was presented a bill for $61.00. And I took home enough food for at least 1 more meal... maybe more Now you can't beat that. My recommendation... You should go.

Inside it's very small and the tables are crammed together. When people would walk past our table to use the restroom I had at least 2 people hit my purse that was on the back of my chair. The purse isn't even big at all. It just felt extremely tight sitting between others who are dining. The server was very nice but the service was overall slow. We had to wait awhile to get our entrie orders taken. Then waiting even longer for our food. I think the server was overwhelmed with our size table of 8 people. She checked in on us often which was nice but at the end of our dinner she messed up almost everyone's check. It was very disorganized and everyone was confused about what they were paying for or who owed what. When I got my check I had what I ordered on my bill and it was my card number but another girls name showed up on my bill... weird. Food was just okay. About as good as Olive Garden and honestly I would prefer Olive Garden. My friend also wasn't impressed with the food and said she wouldn't go back there. There was nothing about the food that made us excited to go back. My friend got an espresso martini and she said it was okay but strong. She had ordered another one after finishing the first one and when the server brought it out it was basically black and looked like straight espresso coffee. My friend tried it, hated it and asked for 2 creamers to add to it. They couldn't make a good cocktail but they did have a good selection of wines.

She wanted to see if the pizza was the same as she remembered. She really enjoyed the pizza and said it brought back great memories. I ordered the marinara with cavatelli and had a cup of the wedding soup. Both were delicious! My husband had the cheese tortellini with spicy cream sauce. It was really really good. The spicy was perfect. There was a steady stream of people coming in to get take out pizza. Great to have a nice pizza place in downtown Willoughby. Our server TJ was helpful. The only reason for four stars instead of five is because of the check out process and overcharging. We were told to pay up front on the way out. We weren't presented a bill. I paid it and left. I did ask for a receipt (yes, I balance to my credit card statement ). We were charged for 3 beverages ( we had two iced teas and one water). Additionally, we were charged $ 2.50 versus $ 2.00 for the cavatelli. Paying, an additional $3.25 than what we should've been charged isn't the end of the world, but please check what you're charged before swiping your payment.

No one got drinks or food either though. 4 kids were "working"--the one looked like he was 10! The main thing was that we found hair in our food! The one kid told us they'd give us our pizza 50% off.
