    Machacado ala mexicana

10/10. Love me some Papa Joes. There aren't a lot of places I can get an authentic machacado con huevo a la mexicana taco!! The staff are amazing. My gf loves their bacon egg and cheese. It's actually her favorite in the city. Didn't grab a pic. Single crispy bacon on perfectly cooked eggs. Definitely a staple place for us.

I was visiting from Seattle and found this place after visiting Boggy Creek Farm. Boggy Creek was a little bit disappointing but Papa Joe's was super yummy. Should have ordered more and eaten on sight. Some tacos were a little soggy after driving 20 minutes to Pflugerville.

I love this place! Papa Joe's Tex-Mex has the best customer service and also the best breakfast tacos in town! I would recommend to try the migas tacos if you get a chance to come here. The best part are the homemade corn tortillas!

We are visiting Austin from Mississippi and were looking for a local place to grab a bite to eat. Found Papa Joe's online and decided to give it a try! When we first pulled in the parking lot, we questioned whether or not we wanted to go in by the outer appearance of the restaurant, but we are so glad we did! Fantastic food and very kind staff and patrons! Some of the nicest people we've met since being in Austin. Highly recommend if you like small, local eateries! We visited on a Sunday for lunch.

How are there no reviews yet? Oh well, I fixed it. When I worked down the street at the Yeti Coolers warehouse, I ate here all the time and gained weight because of it. Thanks to me now working in Cedar Park and being on my feet constantly, I've been able to shed a few pounds, so I can afford to come here once in a blue moon. My first trip here, maybe six months ago, was slightly disappointing because I was given a beef enchilada, instead of cheese, with my Combo Loco plate. The cashier misheard me, and that's no big deal; it happens. I still enjoyed what I ate that day. The Combo Loco plate comes with a beef and bean chalupa, a beef taco, and a cheese or beef taco, along with your typical rice and beans. Anybody who knows me knows I routinely go to Camino Real up the street from my house and get the same damn plate, except there it's just called the Number 33, which isn't nearly as interesting as "Combo Loco". Look, I've sung Camino Real's praises for years, but the food at this place is just better. What can I say? I'm loco about the Combo Loco.

It's a simple formula for a nice breakfast stop: great tacos, great coffee, great service. I'm happy and I'm sure I'll be back.

Arriba Abajo as you walked in just gave me all the vibes of a happening place when you want to hang out with friends and have a great time. We ordered the braised ribs rolled tacos for appetizers. It was so fresh and kicking' with all kinds of flavors. I wish I had ordered another one. The avocado sauce layered on the bottom was just enough to keep wanting more. For lunch I ordered the Carneasada Fajitas with chimichurri and my husband ordered the Carneasada Taqueria. With my fajitas came a side of frijoles, green rice & flour tortillas. Corn flour was the other option. Both meals came in pipin' hot & the smell coming from both was very aromatic, zesty & spice. Amazing taste, flavors, just the right amount of marinade on the Carneasada with a hint of lime. It was so delicious while enjoying the ambiance. Our server was a delight and took very good care of us. We didn't order any of their alcoholic beverages since we were both working, but definitely we will be back to enjoy more food and try out their beverages.

So we were thinking of tacos or Mexican food and my daughter suggested this spot as she had come here with some friends and really enjoyed their sopecitos. I had never had a sopecito! What is that! So we had to try... We were lucky to arrive at the right time (9 pm!) where we got their last table!! Make reservations or something because this is another one of those places that fills up! So- we were taken care of immediately: chips and some very hot salsas were set on the table while we chose. They menu is in QR code format, but we asked and got paper menus as well. Well I got the chicken sopecitos , my daughter got the pork ones and my partner got the meat tacos. Everything was delicious, the food arrived promptly, the portion size was perfect and bountiful and everything was super enjoyable. I really enjoyed trying some New Mexican favorites. Next time I will try some other delicacies since I always get tacos tacos burritos or quesadillas: time for some new items on the menu! Enjoy!

Music was so loud in the back room areas that you could not even have a conversation with others at your table. When I asked to have the music turned down, I was ignored. Too much sauce, and it completely drowned out the taste of the crab. My dad got the ancho relleno San Miguel, and I was so jealous. His dish was absolutely divine, incredibly good. I wish I'd ordered that instead. We tried both the watermelon margarita and the house frozen margarita. The watermelon was delicious, but it came in a small glass with a huge ice cube, so for the price you really don't get much drink. I'd order it again if it came in a bigger glass. The house frozen margarita, though, was delicious and strong, and much better value. For dessert, we had the crepas de cajeta. It was tasty, but it came topped with a generous amount of Nutella, which surprised me since the menu mentions caramel, not Nutella. I'd have preferred the caramel, and I'm guessing they may have run out, which would explain the swap. I just wish they'd mentioned it before serving it, since it changed the dish for me. Overall, a great experience and we will definitely be back.
