Making pizzas isn't rocket science, so this was already at the high end with delivery about 10 minutes away. Called the location at 6:25. The manager said he had called and left a message. He hadn't. So this isn't my first time ordering from Papa Johns but it is MY LAST! Let me first say that the drivers are always very nice and friendly. But tonight I got my kids a large pepperoni,bacon and jalapeño pizza..... AND a black curly (or wavy; whatever) HAIR IN IT!! Okay I know shit happens but this is a major food business not just a friends kitchen... Where are the hair nets people?? And I thought I'd call and let them know and see if they'd offer a refund at least... the young girl on the phone just said sorry and eww that's gross... so since I wasn't offered a refund I decided I would yelp about my experience. I am not reviewing the Pt. Fosdick Papa John's. I am reviewing the one by Borgen Blvd, in Gig Harbor North. We buy the large, Veggie Gourmet on Tuesdays when it's a great deal. The young people who work here do an excellent job. They are personable and keep this store clean plus they all wear masks. When I have ordered pizza at other places, that are already baked, the price is close to $40.00+. These pizzas taste okay but they are expensive. I ordered the large Gourmet Veggie yesterday ( added extra for pineapple) and with a tip it came to $14.85. The pizza was delicious! I have always Loved Papa Johns, but my love for Papa Johns has increased from this experience I ordered my 3 Pizzas and cheesy Bread at 5:31PM. It was at my house at 6:00PM Exactly! We were greeted by the most kind delivery driver and wished my son a happy birthday! I have had consistent good luck get good pies, deals and delivery times. The one time they weren't on time (rush hour) they gave me a free pizza. Another time they messed up the order for pick up they offered me a free extra pizza. I am giving them 4 stars even though they've made a couple mistakes over the years because they quickly correct them. I started ordering online whether I pick up or have it delivered because it tracks my rewards rather than my having to keep track of a punch card. The ordering system is very detailed for being able to customize the order. Saving favorites has not helped because they never seem to apply when a new Deal comes up. read more

So my wife and I have lived in gig harbor for about a year and have probably gotten papa johns twice a month or so for the last year but tonight they forgot to remove the pan from underneath the the cheesy bread and holy shit, (I cook as my job/ am ServSafe certified, for context) and there is no way this pan has been cleaned recently, it's a round screen that has so much grime and grease in/on it most of the pan isn't even see through anymore, my wife and I out of curiosity soaked half for about 5 minutes and got most of it off, if they are cutting corners on cleaning the pan your food is coming in direct contact with what else aren't they doing/cleaning that they should be? We called and told them and the manager seemed more concerned with getting the pan back than the outrageous condition of it. With Round Table and Dominoes both within a mile I 100% do not recommend this Papa Johns. read more

When we met the delivery driver he said " Oh good I thought this was a prank".???- what in the world does an order of 1 Med pizza and bread twists ( which were oily pieces of dough strips!) think that this is a joke?? we were in the car ordering online and a kid who worked there came up to my car knocked aggressively on my window and told us "place an order or get out of our parking lot." we told him prior that we were placing an order online. after placing the order, he then came back and apologized and stated they are "just tired of people smoking dope and shit in our parking lot." customer service was horrible would not recommend. he came back and gave us our food, said "sorry about the wait. here's some breadsticks" and gave us a box of four breadsticks that had clearly been half eaten...the breadsticks come with ten pieces. read more

Unbelieably poor expierience today after arriving to pick up my order. I gave the cashier a $50. She rudely said "I don't have change for this". I told her I could go break it somewhere else...she didn't answer, unlocked the drawer and said "Well your change is going to be like $30 ones (while holding a ton of $5's). I said I didn't mind. I understood. She gave me change (5's and 1's) and when I said thank you she just turned around, half assed cut my pizza (had to recut when I got home) I tipped her $2 and she grabbed it off the counter and didn't return a "goodbye". Called at 515 and was told "its on its way" then called at 530 and overheard mumblings to the effect that it had not left yet and to say again "its on its way". Asked to speak with a manager who told me she made a mistake and had it as a carry out and that she was really sorry. The pizza is great, especially for take out, fast food pizza. They are almost always running one deal or another. My complaint is the service. We usually arrange to order a pizza when we are finishing up on our grocery store trip just down the street so it is hot and ready when we get there. When there is a problem, they left us a voicemail saying they were out of bacon. No call back number, no apology, no offer of what they can do to fix it. So when we called them back, thanks Google for the phone #, the first guy didn't know what we were talking about. The next could care less and just wanted to know what we wanted them to do about it. Did we still want a pizza? Sigh. The manager was eventually called, comped us the pizza, and got the new one in the oven. Another time we had 3 items on our order, which the gentleman confirmed when I paid, then came back with one item. I looked at him, he showed no signs of an issue, so I asked about the rest of the order. Click, click, ding! He walked away and returned with item #2. I asked about item #3 and this time he narrowed his eyes and me and stumbled away to get it. I know it's really demanding of me to want everything I paid for. What the heck... how are people saying this is the best pizza in gig harbor? This was literally the worst pizza I've ever had. My husband and I spent 70 bucks for pizza and a few sides and it wasn't even edible. He got the chicken corden bleu spinach chicken alfredo pizza and I got the Hawaiin chicken. It was tasteless. We were hungry so we literally put Frank's red hot sauce to mask the disgusting flavor. The reviews scared me but I was impressed, we just moved here from South hill where we loved Papa Johns, so it's our go to delivery pizza place. Last night we ordered online but forgot to update our new phone number or give them the gate code. After several attempts of getting hold of us they returned back to the store. We called the store because we could see them calling our cell phone but could not hear them (dead zone for cell phones in our area). Doug took control and got the needed information to succeed on the delivery, made us fresh pizzas and gave us a courtesy call from the store when they were on the way. The pizzas were hot and delicious. I'm not sure what was going on with the other reviews but our experience was fantastic. Pizza used to be good, but no longer. You're lucky if it gets to you lukewarm which doesn't seem to matter as the taste and quality are terrible. We're getting more and more (better) Pizza choices in Gig Harbor and they really need to get their act together if they want to stay competitive. I suppose the plus side to this location is they deliver. If it was carry out only... I would imagine they would have the closed along time ago. The last order we received had most of the toppings shifted to one side as if the delivery driver took some corners on his way to our place. I emailed to provide feedback and was only offered one free large pizza to supposedly make up for the four that we had ordered and we're not please with. The best one was last weekend when my wife called to order two pizzas. The girl who took the order said it would be a little over two hours for delivery. My wife said that was fine and she didn't believe that would actually take that long. The girl acted surprised that she was OK waiting that long. Anyway about 25 minutes later the pizza arrived. I just don't get it nor do I care to anymore we're done best of luck to this establishment.... we'll stick with Pizza Hut, dominoes, or even Roundtable for delivery. read more
