This isn't complicated, it's basic. What really pushed this experience over the edge was the service from Akamu. No greeting, no effort to help, no accountability--just a flat-out unfriendly and dismissive attitude. It felt like helping a paying customer was an inconvenience. Let me be clear: bad orders happen, but bad attitudes are a choice. And this one made the entire experience worse. This place seriously needs to retrain staff or reevaluate who they have representing their business, because this was unacceptable from start to finish. I love pizza. I used to love Papa Johns too! Idk if it's this location or what, but the last couple orders from here were a let down. Anyways, I had to try their stuffed crust, and even more so when I found their special on the app! (Large stuffed crust 3 toppings for only 13.99). One of the pizzas I ordered with extra cheese, and they put all the toppings under the cheese?! Weird. I felt like it steamed the pizza because the crust was not crispy at all...and all the toppings, along with the cheese just slid right off :( The flavor wasn't there either. Today 1/13/22 I ordered their new NY style Pizza! 2 large pizzas arrived within 40 min which was in line with their estimated time when I ordered online. The NY cheese pizza was thin crust very similar to what I have had in NYC, excellent! The Alfredo sauce on the other pizza i ordered was the best White pizza I have had in Hawaii. This Papa John's location is the epitome of hit or miss. I've ordered delivery before, and one instance my pizza got mixed up with a different delivery service (Door Dash) even though I never even ordered through them. I had Door Dash customer service calling my phone asking me if I got my pizza yet. Nope I didn't. Made things pretty confusing. I called this Papa John's location and I got some smart ass that answered and was very unhelpful. For one, this was a breach of privacy as I did not give permission for Papa John's to hand over my personal information to another company for delivery purposes (or any reason, for that matter). I ended up getting my pizza btw. After waiting another hour. One other time I ordered and this bigger guy in a van pulled up and didn't even get out of his vehicle to give me my delivery. And then as I turned to walk inside, he stared creepily at me while I walked in. (I could see him through the glass reflection.) On another occasion, I had my order delivered and the garlic sauce inside had been deliberately opened and the sauce was leaking outside of the box. I did call and the "manager" wasn't very apologetic, just said he'd give me a free pizza as that can happen from the heat. (That's never happened to me before though?) When you order from this location and use delivery, you can either expect a delicious meal, or a horrible one. There's no in-between. I really need to pin down the pizza makers name who does an amazing job. Need to give him a shout out, he usually works weekends. But, it's really russian roulette with this location. There is no consistency at all in customer service nor pizza making. I've opted to picking up at this location before and you can usually expect it 80% of the time to be an awkward uncomfortable experience. It's rarely a breeze for pickup. Some guys come up to the register like they're annoyed they have paying customers. One of the younger girls that works there is really sweet though. Only had her once. Once I picked up here, I approached the counter as the app stated my order was ready for pickup, I walk in and one of the male workers approached me like he was interrogating me, and then come to find out, my order wasn't even ready. My favorite chained pizza company! This particular location has been awesome since I moved here. PROs: It's Papa Johns awesome product. You could get any item and be pleased. Pizza, wings, or desert it's all outstanding. My personal favorite is the meats! With lots of extra pepper sauce and garlic sauce for dipping. The works is also a terrific choice if your into supreme pizzas. Before you order online make sure you check out their FB page for coupons. There is always a 20-50% coupon code on FB or google that is current for that month. CONs: I wish they would deliver to my house.
