It is hard for me to justify spending $17+ for a plate with just a few pieces of boneless chicken and some sides. If the prices were a little more reasonable, or the portions included a bit more chicken, I could justify a 5-star rating. For now, it is a solid 4 stars based on the cost-to-value ratio. The restaurant is smaller but it was clean and the cashier was fine. We ordered the Soy Garlic wings(powerful but good), Gang-Jeong(A Must Try) wings plate with rice, a Secret sauce boneless wings mini-plate with Mac salad and fries, Ddeok-Bokki and 2 sides of fried Mandoo. It was a reasonable 10-15 minute wait and the food came out hot and delicious. The honey garlic is by far my favorite and the hot spicy is delicious despite burning my mouth off. They were hot and crispy. I did order and pick up and upon walking into the restaurant it was clear it was not a place to sit down and enjoy a meal due to the many many orders they were lining up for pick up and the tables pushed to the side but that could have been due to the superbowl and a high fluctuation of demand. The largest Korean Fried Chicken franchised chain in the world whose Hawaii location makes the best tasting colon cleanse EVER! Read on and you'll get it. Trying this locations KFC instantly made me wonder how can Korean people in Korea not look like us obese Americans? Looked at pics of bb.q KFC in Malaysia, Singapore and vids direct from South Korea and the chicken didn't look the same. Case in point, the "honey garlic", a type of batter coated crispy chicken, different.. Was this coated multiple times and deep fried repeatedly until the well brined, juicy chicken part inside was cooked? The outer layer is so thick, it doubles the size of the wingettes and drumettes to the point you can't tell them apart. Yes the honey garlic coating is tasty but the coating, even while being crisp, retains so much oil it isn't possible to eat more than two pieces. The "black pepper", more traditional dry dredged, is plenty juicy with a huge amount of black pepper kicking up the mala heat but has been deep fried in oil not to temp. Greasy. Really tasty KFC but so oily that just four pieces resulted in the same number of uhhhh cleanses. Too bad because this could have been a real winner. read more

The only real issues we had here were the slow service, which was kind of unprofessional, and the even slower time it took to get the food. What is this place?! Omg! This is the best chicken wings I ate in awhile. My daughter got some takeout and we grinded it at home for lunch. She got the ddeokbokki, some fries (super long and crispy) and three types of chicken wings (original, galbi and cheesling)... all were super good but my favorite was the cheesling. Management needs to train the staff properly. Usually, this place is pretty good, but today was a major disappointment. We were served chicken that was significantly undercooked. Done fried chicken should be golden brown on the outside and white all the way through. It was pink in the middle, and honestly, didn't look safe to eat. When we pointed it out to the staff, they weren't very attentive. They seemed more interested in their own conversation and weren't particularly apologetic. They actually tried to insist that the chicken was cooked properly, which was clearly not the case (see the attached picture). It was disappointing to experience this lack of attention to food quality and the dismissive attitude of the staff. While I've had good experiences here before, today's visit makes me hesitant to return. I've been to other bb.q locations on the mainland before so I had high expectations for this one in Aiea and it did not disappoint! the chicken was crispy and flavorful, super fresh, and the restaurant was clean. we placed a takeout order and it took a while to prepare, but it was worth the wait. they also have a selection of korean soju and sodas to choose from. parking can be hard since they share a lot with the Alley. best bet is to order takeout in advance and go with 2 people so one person can just run in to pick up lol. we'll definitely be back for that korean fried chicken craving! read more
