I called a month before my son's 21 birthday to make reservations. The Kane on the phone was so pleasant and informed me that for 4 people, they don't take reservations but did say he was going to ask his manager since I called was ahead of the date. Sadly parties of 4 people they do not take reservations. He did let me know to be there before 7:00pm to avoid being on the waitlist. The special day for my son arrived. We got to the mall a little after 6:00 pm and was surprised that there was ample parking close to Kickin Kajun. Walked in and was greeted immediately and followed by being seated in the cool closed off booth! I really wanted to be seated there! What I loved about where we were seated is that it's see through tinted plexiglass from ceiling to floor, so to me it's private! We ordered: Starters: they were out of the clam chowder :( Fried calamari - very good very tasty Fried mozzarella sticks - crunchy outside, so good! Kalua pork sliders - my boyfriend got that and he said they were kinda dry Oyster shooters (2) - for me and it was satisfying The 21st birthday boy ordered the seafood boil with no mussels or clams and got the Kauai prawns to sub with spicy sauce. My daughter got the Andouille sausage po boy with Parmesan truffle fries. She said it's delicious and saved half for her boyfriend. My boyfriend got the Kickin chicken wings with garlic fries and he loved the wings but the garlic over the fries looked weird to him. I got the Kauai prawns in medium level signature sauce and my god I was in heaven. They also gave one scoop rice for my meal and for my son (bday boy) and it was perfect!!!! Drinks: standard water, coke for my bf, and Melon soju and Lychee Ramune soju in carafes. The lychee ramune was our favorite! It was my boyfriend and my first time there and sure it's pricey but I will definitely be back!

Been here a couple of times, but today was my best visit yet. Food tasted fresher than usualI was expecting this place to be packed since I came in on Black Friday but I walked in to no wait. My party split a bag of snow crab, clams, shrimp, potatoes, sausage, and corn, which came out to $75. It was perfect for our party size and everyone left feeling content. We also ordered the melona soju cocktail, which was amazing!!! We highly recommend this drink. All in all, we had a good experience. We were asked how we were doing 5x in a row, which was a bit much but I know they were just doing their job. I recommend this place.

Love this place. My fav spot for boils and to go with a small or big group. The service is great. The food is delicious.

I really have no idea why this place doesn't have a higher rating. I really enjoyed my time here, and I can't wait to come back. My family and I ordered the 6-lb seafood boil in the signature sauce. It was SO good, and we got so much seafood. We got a whole lobster, snow crab legs, a whole dungeness crab, and tons of mussels and clams and crawfish and shrimp. We upgraded to kauai shrimp and it was so worth it. Everything was delicious - I especially loved the lobster and crawfish. You are handed bibs and gloves and have napkins at the table too! The sauce was very buttery and garlicky and incredibly flavorful. So good - I want to try the other sauces next time. I asked for a spicy sauce on the side since my family is sensitive to spice, and it was really good. I actually might try the extreme spicy next time! We also ordered a platter of fried oysters, and it was SO good. The service was pretty good too! Our main server was super nice and funny - he was all smiles. Yes, the wait to get seated was long - it was Saturday and prime dinner time. I wish we didn't have to wait so long, but there were a lot of customers. Totally understandable. Once we got seated, the food came quickly. We were seated in one of the side booths, which was super comfy. The lighting was bright and fun, and the ambiance was lively. Nothing too special to write home about, but it was comfy and well air-conditioned. Nothing to complain about!!! I would totally recommend coming here.

Been coming to this location for many years now but I usually do takeout. This time, we decided to dine in and we were seated in one of the booths. It was nice and private especially since the food can get messy. It's also good for my son who tends to get loud. We got the dungeonness crab combo with their signature sauce. The combo comes with shrimp, clam, mussel, sausage and corn. We also had the sampler appetizer and chicken tenders and fries for my son. They charge for rice. It was a lot of food for three! Our server was attentive - checking in on us to make sure we were good. Nonetheless, our dining experience was enjoyable.

    Side of Rice (DRY)

A week ago, I came here for lunch and let me start off by saying... Fridae was such a great server and I would definitely recommend him. As always, the lunch special is the best way to go when dining for one (within the time frame of course). I got the shrimp, with side of potatoe and sausage. I also ordered me an oyster shooter which was exactly what I wanted it to be. As mentioned, the rice I had was not good, quite crispy actually. I wasn't going to ask for another one since it would probably be from the same pot. After seeing others get their rice and even asking for a second, as I normally do, I decided to give it another shot of asking. Fridae without hesitation brought me another and sure enough, it was day-and-night better! My assumption is that my first batch was the top of the rice that gets all dry. Nonetheless, I finally got to enjoy that rice and sauce. My potatoe was a bit firmer than my preference as well, but edible and still good. Overall, I had a pretty good experience except for the rice situation! The best part is that Fridae brought the second batch without hesitation even though I said I wasn't going to ask for another! The other staff were super nice as well! Great vibes all around.

This review is for takeout: Food was hot, cooked well (and not overcooked) and delicious! We got the dungeness crab combo (added more corn), 2lbs manila clams. Came with two rice as well. Ordering take out is nice because we're able to eat it in comfort at home, it can get messy. I ordered over the phone which was easy and I came down at the expected time and our order was ready! If you have a phone order you can go to the back counter on the left for pick up, that way you don't wait at the hostess counter at the front. Love the food and sauces so we def eat here a few times a year.

    Kristal A.

Ordered the 6pc oysters, Basket of Garlic Fries and the 6 Pounder. I rarely sit inside as I prefer take out always because it's too cold inside and seafood gets cold quickly half way thru eating. Other than that Fam enjoyed the food. The sauce always compliments the seafood very well. The spicy level is well tolerated. The fresh garlic over the fries is magnificent and yummy. Next time I'm going to order a egg on the side to pair with the fries and scoop the garlic on top because they definitely give a lot didn't think of that at the time maybe even add a little sauce with fries on top. * As for the potato's they need to hire an individual potato checker because it doesn't make no damn sense every single time the potato's are hard, it shouldn't be like this for no orders. Check them potato's.

Ok - don't get me wrong I love me some Kickin Cajun: but let's be real... 30 mins to be seated as I placed us in the waiting list in advance (several open tables) 15+ mins for someone to take our orders 20 mins to receive our order (only 2 things) and no one gave us utensils, gloves, bib. I had to go to the bar and ask for a drink refill and the waitress barely checked on us. We asked another waiter for 1 more order of rice. Then we waited another 15 mins for our check after we flagged her down to ask for jt. There was only 2 people in our party and it was a waiting game. Sorry kit very complicated yet we had to work for our own meal. Not very happy. Basically SERVICE needs improvement, food was good though. It was like we were invisible on a table far away by the side entrance and forgotten.

My family's favorite place to get seafood boil! The sauce is so flavorful, we savor all of it and love to top our rice with it. There's a reason we come back all the time for special occasions, and we've seen the restaurant grow from a small space to the big establishment it is now. Plenty of free parking and even when it's busy, the food comes out fast after they take your order. Popular spot in Kapolei at Ka Makana Ali'i!

    Lychee martini
    Jazlene T.

This is my go-to whenever I'm back on the island! I always come with my family and they have the best drinks. Their food never misses IMO- the wait time can be long but it's worth the wait. All the staff I've met here know us as regulars and they're the friendliest. I always get their seafood boil combos or chicken wings with fries. Their lemon pepper hits. For drinks, any cocktail is fire and especially their lychee martini. Last time, I got the midori sour and it was good. The bartender will bring the drinks to your table unless you sit at the bar. Everything is a hit! Snag a table using the Yelp waitlist otherwise put your name down when you get in then walk around the mall, they'll notify you.

2025 AUG 24 Calamari W Truffle fries & Oyster Po Sandwhich W garlic Fries
    Kimmie S.

2025 Aug 24 Pros -Food hot & fresh -Ordered calamari & garlic fries! Very good enjoyed it. -Oyster po boy sandwhich! W truffle fries. -Oysters were fat & flavorful. Fries was good. Cons -Fries were good but they were oily. -Very expensive sides specially if you're buying by the pound. -Waitress didn't know the happy hour days or times. Very clueless and she had to double check -When waitress shift was over, she didn't bother turning over and introducing the new waitress who is taking over. -since when do restaurants charge 18% tips? Times sure flies when it use to be 15% tip like man I don't even get a 15% raise and restaurants are expecting an 18% + tip? Very outrageous & crazy. DIABOLICAL

Dungeness Crab waiting to be devoured!
    Darcel B.

The place is usually packed, but we went a little later, around 7 something in the evening. So we were able to be seated right away. Our waiter was kind but did not check on our drinks as often as other places would, especially since we ordered alcoholic beverages. It is usually loud but it was fairly quiet, probably because there wasn't much people and the music was not pumping so loud. I was happy because when we opend our crab it had lots of yummy goodness in the head/shell/back (everyone has preference on what they call it) most times it's dry and overcooked. We recommend going if you want the experience of eating seafood with your hands and don't mind getting dirty. We live seafood and like to dig in so the experience is always nice.

We went big with the Family Pack (Blue Crab Tobiko Spread, Shrimp Ceviche, and tostadas) and threw in some extra tacos for good measure. The steak tacos were the undisputed MVP of the night -- perfectly grilled and genuinely delicious. The fish tacos were solid, respectable citizens of the taco world and the serving was big enough to make two tacos from one serving. Now, the Blue Crab Tobiko Spread tasted really fishy, so fishy that I had to tap out. Maybe it was an off night, but I couldn't power through it. The Shrimp Ceviche was a crowd-pleaser for the rest of the family, though it wasn't my personal vibe. Here's where things get spicy -- and not in the fun way. We got hit with a $21 convenience fee for ordering online that appeared AFTER we'd already tipped. No heads-up, no warning label, nothing. For a family just trying to enjoy some seafood, that's a gut punch. Had we known, we would have ordered differently.

We opted for the lechon style brussels and spicy garlic noodles (this was a snack before our dinner at another establishment). The brussels were an interesting flavor. I would've liked more flavor coming through the overall seasoning of this dish. I was expecting salty, sweet and vinegary, but it missed the mark for me. As for the spicy garlic noodles, this was flavorful, and very rich/buttery. My friend and I split the egg, while the third person in our party opted against it because she didn't care for runny eggs. Perhaps it's a good thing the third person didn't partake in the egg, because as my friend and I were driving to our next destination, we had to make a pit stop to use the restroom, as it seems that something didn't quite sit well with either of our tummies. The 3rd person who didn't eat the egg was completely fine, so not sure if it was the egg or the richness of the dishes. A really good okazuya, poke shop and plate lunch place. There's always a line so other people must agree with me. Even though I am full blooded Japanese I didn't eat raw fish. But I got hooked on the sushi rice with take and poke. The poke was cut so small I decided to try it. And surprisingly I liked it. So I had it again today along with a cone sushi (it's so hard to find the old fashion cone sushi -not the small football ones that you find at Foodland and everywhere else. The cone ee is so juicy and the right amount of sweet. Love it. There are so many of my favorites that it's hard to try something new. Want to try the pork chops with the scallions (like the kind you find on cold ginger chicken). Maybe I'll get someone else to order it and I'll get a

The line can get long, but there are always plenty of hardworking staff members keeping things moving efficiently. My favorites are the Spicy Ahi Tempura Bowl, lumpia, ahi patties, chow fun, and vegetable tempura. Honestly, everything I've tried has been delicious. Whether you're grabbing lunch for the beach, a family gathering, or just craving local comfort food, Tanioka's is always a solid choice.

Located in the Four Seasons, ambiance of course is unmatched and so much quieter of course than neighboring Aulani. The bao buns were perfect for sharing to start off and was delicious. Although $7-10 more, I still felt the mac nut crusted fish had the best value than some of the other options. The LHK burger is satisfying but for $30 is on the high side even if it comes with the side of onion rings. The eggplant a la plancha was really light as it was one eggplant steak with labneh. For $27, I would have thought it would have come with more than one slice. But I guess if you can afford the Four Seasons, this is just a drop in the bucket. But if you're just coming for lunch, it may be sticker shock for that dish. Service was wonderful as expected with a Four Seasons and they were so sweet to give my husband a complimentary dessert for his birthday.
