Tried a seafood boil for the first time after risking my shrimp allergy and finding out that I'm no longer allergic to shrimp, so I was really excited to finally give it a try! I got the Snow Crab Legs Combo with the Signature Kickin Sauce and medium heat. I ordered takeout, and everything was still hot and ready to eat when I got home. The combo came with a good amount of snow crab legs, shrimp, mussels, and clams. It's advertised as feeding 1-2 people, and I'd say that's pretty accurate. There was definitely enough to share between two hungry people, although I do wish they gave more potatoes. There were only two small potatoes, which felt a little skimpy compared to the rest of the seafood. The flavor was really good, especially for my first seafood boil. The Kane on the phone was so pleasant and informed me that for 4 people, they don't take reservations but did say he was going to ask his manager since I called was ahead of the date. I really have no idea why this place doesn't have a higher rating. I really enjoyed my time here, and I can't wait to come back. My family and I ordered the 6-lb seafood boil in the signature sauce. It was SO good, and we got so much seafood. We got a whole lobster, snow crab legs, a whole dungeness crab, and tons of mussels and clams and crawfish and shrimp. We upgraded to kauai shrimp and it was so worth it. Everything was delicious - I especially loved the lobster and crawfish. You are handed bibs and gloves and have napkins at the table too! The sauce was very buttery and garlicky and incredibly flavorful. So good - I want to try the other sauces next time. It was nice and private especially since the food can get messy. It's also good for my son who tends to get loud. We got the dungeonness crab combo with their signature sauce. A week ago, I came here for lunch and let me start off by saying... Fridae was such a great server and I would definitely recommend him. As always, the lunch special is the best way to go when dining for one (within the time frame of course). I got the shrimp, with side of potatoe and sausage. The place is usually packed, but we went a little later, around 7 something in the evening. So we were able to be seated right away. Our waiter was kind but did not check on our drinks as often as other places would, especially since we ordered alcoholic beverages. It is usually loud but it was fairly quiet, probably because there wasn't much people and the music was not pumping so loud. I was happy because when we opend our crab it had lots of yummy goodness in the head/shell/back (everyone has preference on what they call it) most times it's dry and overcooked. Yeah, no. I went here with my nieces last week and I'm just catch up with my Yelp reviews. I'm not a fan of this place. We got the mix sauces and didn't care for it. The quality of the shrimp was horrible, it all was pretty horrible. The seafood boil bag barely has any sauce, like at all. It was dry. Couldn't even go to the bottom of the bag for it. We had to actually ask for extra sauce. The snow crab legs were "crackable" it was kind of soft. We got the calamari basket all well, and the fries were pretty good but wish they actually put more calamari. Price: it's pretty pricy for what they give. As we got there, somehow our order was not imputed. The two cashiers in front asked if any of their voices sounded familiar because they were the only two answering the phone and unfortunately one of them sounded like the one that answered. Able to go on waitlist ahead of time & seated as soon as we arrived.. well it was early eve about 5p. Not the same experience we previously enjoyed. Ordered an appetizer which arrived after our combo meal (& po'boy ). Clam chowder had hard potatoes- not cooked long enough. You'd think for a 'boil' a tray would be provided to pour the contents on since the liquid would (& did) run all over the table. Extra messy.! When our sampler appetizer arrived, we used that small tray to pour our 'boil' on & put the appetizers in the rice (paper) bowl. There were NO hand wipes- only a napkin dispenser w/napkins. The gloves were too small for my hubby, so his hands were sticky. Waiter was pleasant & did check back with us if we needed anything. Customer service was mediocre but the food was incredibly terrible. I remember going to the old location where they were near the food court and it was way better. Quality of food was ehhh for the price. The shrimp po boy sandwich was HORRIBLE. The bread was hard and there was no flavor to it (good thing i got a $7 side sauce for my seafood- I was able to drench it and get some kind of flavor out of it). The seafood sauce hardly had any garlic.... I'm so tired of Kickin Kajun in general whether I go to this location and/or Honolulu's, SCIMP OUT. I paid $130 for the KING CRAB COMBO and I was so disappointed they gave us one piece of sausage in the entire order and like 6 clams also the sauce was so watery and had no taste and to top it off when I dumped it out into a bowl a metal piece of a kitchen tool fell out of the bag! I tend to park near Olino theaters because it's less crowded compared to the parking in front of the restaurant. Booking is easy, you can do it through Yelp and they'll txt you when your table is ready. *They have a 10 min grace period* before they kick you out of the waitlist if you don't check in with the hostess after they send you a 'your table is ready' txt. I usually get the snow crab combo with their signature sauce (mild), extra Portuguese sausage, corn, and a side order of extra sauce to pour over the rice and to dip my shrimp in. Oh!
