I'd recommend making reservations if you're dining with a large party. Despite all their delectable menu options, we chose to order a combo. It's perfect for sharing, and we ordered the lobster combo with a side order of kickin' sauce. Their combos come with shrimp, clams, mussels, corn, potatoes, and rice. The Kane on the phone was so pleasant and informed me that for 4 people, they don't take reservations but did say he was going to ask his manager since I called was ahead of the date. Been here a couple of times, but today was my best visit yet. Food tasted fresher than usualI was expecting this place to be packed since I came in on Black Friday but I walked in to no wait. My party split a bag of snow crab, clams, shrimp, potatoes, sausage, and corn, which came out to $75. It was perfect for our party size and everyone left feeling content. I really have no idea why this place doesn't have a higher rating. I really enjoyed my time here, and I can't wait to come back. My family and I ordered the 6-lb seafood boil in the signature sauce. It was SO good, and we got so much seafood. We got a whole lobster, snow crab legs, a whole dungeness crab, and tons of mussels and clams and crawfish and shrimp. We upgraded to kauai shrimp and it was so worth it. Everything was delicious - I especially loved the lobster and crawfish. You are handed bibs and gloves and have napkins at the table too! The sauce was very buttery and garlicky and incredibly flavorful. So good - I want to try the other sauces next time. I asked for a spicy sauce on the side since my family is sensitive to spice, and it was really good. I actually might try the extreme spicy next time! We also ordered a platter of fried oysters, and it was SO good. The service was pretty good too! Our main server was super nice and funny - he was all smiles. A week ago, I came here for lunch and let me start off by saying... Fridae was such a great server and I would definitely recommend him. As always, the lunch special is the best way to go when dining for one (within the time frame of course). I got the shrimp, with side of potatoe and sausage. I wasn't going to ask for another one since it would probably be from the same pot. Fridae without hesitation brought me another and sure enough, it was day-and-night better! My assumption is that my first batch was the top of the rice that gets all dry. Nonetheless, I finally got to enjoy that rice and sauce. My potatoe was a bit firmer than my preference as well, but edible and still good. My husband and I both told separate people we got sick; they each responded that multiple people had shared this same experience with them. Do not eat at this restaurant. The place is usually packed, but we went a little later, around 7 something in the evening. So we were able to be seated right away. Our waiter was kind but did not check on our drinks as often as other places would, especially since we ordered alcoholic beverages. It is usually loud but it was fairly quiet, probably because there wasn't much people and the music was not pumping so loud. I was happy because when we opend our crab it had lots of yummy goodness in the head/shell/back (everyone has preference on what they call it) most times it's dry and overcooked. The seafood sauce hardly had any garlic.... I'm so tired of Kickin Kajun in general whether I go to this location and/or Honolulu's, SCIMP OUT. Not an 18% GRATUITY for our server, an 18% service charge and still expected a TIP I flagged down our server and pointed out that we are a family of 5, not 6, and then I asked if the 18% is supposed to be his tip - he didn't really answer, I think he honestly didn't know. He took it to the cashier then came back to say they would refund the $53 service fee and that I could add whatever tip to the total Not gonna lie, I was nervous the charge would stand at nearly $400 but they did run it properly in the end. Yeah, no. I went here with my nieces last week and I'm just catch up with my Yelp reviews. I'm not a fan of this place. We got the mix sauces and didn't care for it. The quality of the shrimp was horrible, it all was pretty horrible. The seafood boil bag barely has any sauce, like at all. It was dry. Couldn't even go to the bottom of the bag for it. We had to actually ask for extra sauce. The snow crab legs were "crackable" it was kind of soft. We got the calamari basket all well, and the fries were pretty good but wish they actually put more calamari. Price: it's pretty pricy for what they give. Able to go on waitlist ahead of time & seated as soon as we arrived.. well it was early eve about 5p. Not the same experience we previously enjoyed. Ordered an appetizer which arrived after our combo meal (& po'boy ). Clam chowder had hard potatoes- not cooked long enough. You'd think for a 'boil' a tray would be provided to pour the contents on since the liquid would (& did) run all over the table. Extra messy.! When our sampler appetizer arrived, we used that small tray to pour our 'boil' on & put the appetizers in the rice (paper) bowl. There were NO hand wipes- only a napkin dispenser w/napkins. The gloves were too small for my hubby, so his hands were sticky. Waiter was pleasant & did check back with us if we needed anything. Ordered a king crab dinner for New Year's Eve tonight and picked up for take out. I paid $130 for the KING CRAB COMBO and I was so disappointed they gave us one piece of sausage in the entire order and like 6 clams also the sauce was so watery and had no taste and to top it off when I dumped it out into a bowl a metal piece of a kitchen tool fell out of the bag! I am definitely contacting the manager tomorrow to complain! I think the gave me the bottom left overs of the pot !!! I won't be returning to eat there again! It's a very nice sized restaurant with a great atmosphere but it can get rather loud when they're packed. Two thumbs up for their food and service! But who would've thought that this place would have a beautiful bar and a GREAT selection of Spirits, especially WHISKEY!?! I've stopped by here many times just for their whiskey and some appetizers (fried calamari, Tater tots and fries hit the spot) and have never been disappointed. They also have whiskey and tequila flights that are reasonably priced. If you're a whiskey lover, you gotta check this place out! Then you pay for which type of crab you want. The Parmesan truffle fries are really good! They have different spice levels. We got medium and it was not spicy at all, so next time, I would need to try hot. The one downside is that we ordered rice and did not get it for most of the meal. I tend to park near Olino theaters because it's less crowded compared to the parking in front of the restaurant.
