The greeter / our waitress was super sweet and on top of it!! The decor was nice and clean. The chips and salsa were not very good. Our food arrived quickly. We both ordered the grilled chicken dinner. I had mine with veggies (corn, peas, shredded carrots, green beans, broccoli, and zucchini) and my husband had rice and beans with his. The chicken was alright, but the veggies were not what I was expecting at a Mexican restaurant. I was thinking fresh grilled veggies (such as zucchini, peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms, maybe even yellow squash) I asked for a side of pico and was surprised there was a $2 up charge for that. When we got our bill we noticed there was also a $2 fee for using a credit card. That was unexpected. It's disappointing these little things because this could be a great restaurant. I would rather pay a higher price for my meal (it was $12 plus extras) than to be nickel and dimed. I'm hoping they make some improvements as it really could be a great restaurant. Been going here several years and seems worse each time. Problem is that there is very little competition so it's either cook, travel, or do TexMex at PaPa Nachos. This time the sliced avocado looked like something out of the trash. Server took it back when we complained after trying to eat it but no refund. The queso on my burritos was way salty. Eating here is a sad task. My cooking sucks so I end up back here again. Maybe I need to learn how to cook or move out of the area. read more

The food is good and service is good, but they tell you there's a 3.5 % extra charge for using a debit card, yet the fee is not only more than 3.5 but it is charged on the final bill after sales tax. So you pay 3.5% on the sales tax as well, not just the food, additionally it comes out to be more than 3.5% . I complained about and was told I could call the manager. read more

This restaurant had the worst service I've experienced in some time. I understand how businesses can be short handed, but to wait 25 minutes to place a drink order, only to have the server bring things back to the table you didn't order, then have to wait another 20 minutes and not have a drink brought back is unacceptable. Then, to ask to speak to a manager and see the manager yell at another server for telling her, we would like to speak with her... That was enough to make me walk out. Horribly managed restaurant! If the servers would have not all been in the kitchen, maybe the customers would have eventually gotten greeted and drinks in less than 45 minutes... read more

If I could give this restaurant no stars I would! The refried beans taste like chalk. The rice is bland. This restaurant has no flavor non! Don't get the nasty green sauce. I do not know where this recipe came from but it is N-A-S-T-Y! The hot sauce is ok but it's very basic. The booths are not clean, napkins on floor. Chips on seats. The restaurant temp was too hot, my husband could barely stand it! I will not go to this restaurant again if I happen to pass through here. If your curious they do have a drive though window. Probabably one of the better Mexican joints in town, although they do seem to always be slow. Very good to us in the bar area and the food was amazing! Our server never came to our table, we had to ask two other people for help. Never filled our salsa, and never refilled the drinks. We even asked another waitress to get her and she didn't come until we were ready to pay. Food was also extremely greasy. The other waitresses were great but ours was awful, she made eye contact with us multiple times but never came to us. We had to wait at least ten minutes for her to take our money, and she was very rude. read more

I recently ate at Papa Nachos and had the worst service I have ever had at any restaurant before. When cups were empty, drinks were never refilled. We had to wait a solid 15 minutes for silverware and when our chip bowl was refilled, it was solid crumbs. My personal order was messed up twice and finally I asked for the correct one to-go. My friends and I visited here this afternoon. The town is lovely and we enjoyed this restaurant. The only flow was that they didn't say there were jalapeños on the fish tacos. That isn't usual and we have had them various places. Aside from that the good was good. I would go here again as the waitress was very gracious. read more

Not the best mexican or tex-mex around, but one of the few places that have white queso. Their nacho appetizer comes as individual nachos topped with bean cheese, which is awesome and much better than a plate of nachos with uneven topping distribution. Their taco salad comes with a chili con carne sauce, which I think is more regional. I've never had that on a taco salad before. It was alright but the shell seemed like it was store bought, not actually made. The $10 shrimp cocktail tasted like V8 juice and we sent it back. So with all that in mind, there are some tasty dishes (like their tortilla soup) and some misfires. But if you're in the mood for white queso, then this is the place to go. read more

Unfortunately the menu isn't correct, I tried ordering "Johnny's Special" and was asked "Are you trying to call Two Senoritas " ? Causing us to have to make changes on the fly to get the order done. Disappointed about my cheese enchiladas for lunch......they were warm and the inside of them was hardly melted.

This is about the 4th time we have eaten here and so far it ranks 3rd in our choice for Mexican food in Pittsburg. (only 3 Mexican restaurants to pick from in Pittsburg.) 1st visit was the old management and we swore we would not be back. The food was less then impressive and service was poor. 2nd visit was after the new management took over and the food and service had improved so we gave it another try. (Mainly because we have out of town friends that like to eat there.) 3rd visit was much the same, food was good and service was good. Today we ate here again and will not be back. The service was disorderly. We had to ask for silverware twice, took forever to get our drinks, never refreshed our chips. They were totally unorganized. 3 different people came to ask us if we were ready to order when we were clearly waiting for another couple. We were asked if we wanted to order drinks 3 different times even after our drink order had already been ordered. But the following is what really lead us to decide on eating Mexican food elsewhere: My husband had sweet tea to drink at $2.00 a glass and when the waitress refilled the glass he asked for more lemons and was told that she would have to charge him .50 for more lemons. First time I have ever heard of charging for lemon slices and I was a waitress for 20 years. My friend and I ordered a meal and ordered Charro beans instead of refried beans and were charged .50 to substitute. My friend had chicken enchiladas and asked for ranchero sauce instead of the sour cream sauce and was charges .25 for the substitution. Never in my life have I been in a Mexican restaurant where you cannot change the sauce if you prefer cheese over enchilada sauce or ranchero over sour cream sauce. That being said, it might have made a difference if the waitress would have told us about the extra charges instead of just adding it to the bill. But the worst of it was that my friend that ordered the chicken enchiladas barely made it home and ran into the bathroom and lost her meal. I would not recommend this restaurant. Go down the street to Peralta's or if you want a margarita go to Cactus. I felt sorry for the waitress. She was only doing what the restaurant policies dictated, but she could have been more informative. Need more restaurants in Pittsburg so we have better choices. Disappointed for the last time. We're so disappointed with this place tonight that I had to write. Some of the most terrible service we've ever received, and with the restaurant almost empty! The waitress we first met was anything but enthusiastic or welcoming. Quesos we ordered took an exceptionally long time to come out and when they did come out after asking about them twice, they were so cold that we sent them back. We had to ask for silverware twice. The gentleman that took our food order was obviously new. He didn't know the names of the dishes when they arrived and asked other waiters in Spanish what the plates were called. The food was mediocre at best. Chicken flautas might as well have come from the frozen food section of a grocery store. We had asked for an entree to be split on separate bills, which wasn't done. Then our waiter charged another table's bill on our credit card. And we only knew this because we were seated by the register. Not that he informed us of this mistake. It would have gone a long way to at least update us on correcting the mistake. Will not be going back. read more

Tried Papa Nachos a few years ago I wasn't impressed and didn't go back. However, they recently built a new restaurant building next door to the old one (which has now been torn down). Anyway, living in the area I felt I should give them another try. I'm glad I did. The new building is attractive and spacious on the inside. I like good chips and salsa and their's did not disappoint. We had the choice of two quesos, yellow or white. We chose the white and it was nice and cheesy. My husband and I ordered Chimichangas with ground beef. It was a substantial size without being too big and the meat was nicely seasoned and the fried flour tortilla was light and crispy. It came with the yellow queso on the side, next time I will ask to sub the white. I enjoyed the refried beans and the rice was fluffy. Service was great, will definitely be going back! read more
