New menus and higher prices.! Food is good but be prepare to pay higher prices. Back of the menu states lunch 11-2 BUT does not indicate weekdays. This was our weekly go to restaurant and that is not going to happen anymore. And you will pay extra if you use your credit cards or bank cards. read more

Fantastic!!! What a pleasant surprise - right off the interstate in SC. Driving back from VA to ATL, we were craving Mexican. A quick search popped up Papa's as the closest to where we were. And WOW!! Fun decor, really fresh YUMMY food, great service and prices. And a HUGE menu of interesting choices. Food was well-seasoned - with lots of ingredients and well-plated. Portions were very generous - especially for the great prices. Loved that they serve hot bean dip instead of salsa with their chips, but also have a complete salsa bar to get your fill of a nice variety of salsas, including guacamole! We bookmarked and will definitely come back again on our way to visit our daughter in college. read more

Ok, what a cool spot for some super good Cali Mex. LOVE the salsa bar but I gotta say that the warm, smoky refried bean dip that arrives with chips is pretty yummy. We rolled in after a long drive, a lot of heavy lifting, a terrifying motel, and a flat tire. Shared the chicken & steak fajita for 2. All delish, especially the steak. Warning: portions are ginormous. And so is the menu - I'm sad that I can't tell you about lots more but the fajita was all we could handle and then some. Added plus: our server offered us the choice of flour or corn tortillas - wish more places did this. Will definitely be back. read more

We love Papas and Beer. So happy this location finally opened. Typical shabby Mexican decor they are famous for. Our service was stellar... we wanted for nothing and our glasses remained full. This day I tried something different... the meat lovers tacos. No tortilla... just lettuce. I was unable to pick them up so I had to eat them with a fork, but the flavor was just as good as the Mexico City Tacos that I usually get. I recommend that you get that instead, unless you are really avoiding carbs ;) read more

My son and I had a GREAT lil date night at Papas n Beer on Thursday evening! It's right off the Hwy (brightly colored so easy to see) and there's a decent amount of parking. We ate inside where it was nice n cool. My son loved the beautiful pics of Frida Khalo, the cool star light above the table and especially the chips and beans. He got the avocado tacos with rice n beans and I got the vegetarian enchiladas with rice n olla beans (yum!). The enchiladas were loaded with veggies n cheese and the sauce on top was awesome. They have a lil salsa bar and they have a mild one that even my 3.5 year old liked (I enjoyed the spicier salsa). Our server was quick, and polite. My son had fun talking to the guy bussing tables. 10 outta 10. Will definitely be back to try more of the menu!! read more

Disappointed! Both the chicken and steak were burned making the burrito almost inedible. Margarita was way too sweet.

Quick, inexpensive, and nearby....what more could you want? The arroz con pollo with shrimp is easily enough food to share for two. I love a Bloody Mary and these are okay (to be expected at a Mexican restaurant). We also tried to order their version of a Moscow mule but they were out of ginger beer. They have a salsa bar with about 6 different salsas. The green is my favorite! Although we like the Spartanburg a little better, it's nice to have an option in boiling springs . read more

My wife and I love Papa's and Beer, at least the Asheville locations. We had lunch today at the Boiling Springs, SC location. It had to be one of the biggest restaurant disappointments we have ever had. First, my wife's glass came out filthy, there was something resembling dried gravy on the inside. When our meals arrived, my wife's taco salad was swimming in water...or something. My burrito was literally cold on the inside, but the plate was dangerously hot...if the waiter (who was really great) had not warned me, I could have been seriously burnt. And upon further inspection, the plate had dried crusted food on it. Not going back there...ever. read more

My go-to restaurant when I'm craving Mexican cuisine (which is frequent lol). Delicious, authentic food and huge portions.

My best friend and I stumbled across this restaurant and decided to give it a chance after a long and stressful day and we now consider it one of the best days simply because of Papas and Beer. We came in, immediately were sat, and our waiter (Alejandro) was so nice and gave us so many recommendations. I got the strawberry margarita per his request and my friend got the mango margarita because he said that was their most popular. They were SO GOOD. Our food took all of four minutes to get to our table and we devoured it. Alejandro recommenced the California burrito with steak and I never get steak, but I took his word. I have been back three times since and ordered the steak burrito every-time. My friend got the taco salad, but exactly to her liking- no fuss about substitutions!! This is our favorite Mexican restaurant and we will never go anywhere else. 10/10. read more

Best Mexican I have found in a very long time! This is authentic Mexican cuisine. I ordered the carnitas dinner... the carnitas is perfectly seasoned and cooked. First, if you're not vaccinated - don't go. Staff is not diligent about mask wearing. Some were wearing their masks as chin diapers, while others wore them only covering their mouth and not their nose. And, none of the patrons inside or out wore masks even upon entering. I ordered fajitas and they were not made fresh. My order was brought out roughly two minutes after I placed it. The carnitas was bland. The grilled veggies weren't grilled and contained a fair amount of summer squash, which was unexpected and surprising - not entirely a bad addition to peppers and onions. However, the veggies and meat sat in a large puddle of pot liquor. The refried beans were mostly soupy - requiring a spoon to be eaten. The sad reality is they have raised their prices by a dollar across the board when compared to their menus posted online. I don't begrudge that given current COVID realities. However, a fresher (and tastier) meal could be had from Chipotle for half the price. The value proposition just isn't there for below average fare. read more

My family and I came here for dinner with family from out of state. The service was perfect, everything was clean and inviting, and the food was amazing!!! I am absolutely appalled with my experience at this establishment today. My family and I are regulars at Papa's and Beer but this time.... I phone ordered some plain steak tacos for my kids with a side of rice to be picked up on my way home. when I got home I realized they gave me a wrong order. I immediately called the restaurant but the phone was not being picked up in a timely manner (Friday night) finally after 10 minutes someone picked up. I told them the situation and they said to come back and they will fix it. I told them I couldn't come back now but I would go the next day. I went the next day and the "manager" said he couldn't do anything without the food and accused me of eating it. I just couldnt carry the food around from 0500 to 730pm, it will stink up my car and probably spoil. I like their food but the way he made me feel like I was trying to pull a fast one really upset me. My family and I will find somewhere else where we are valued. read more
