I went with my daughter, her boyfriend, and his mother on a warm Saturday afternoon. They came to visit us from out of town, so we gave them a choice of three restaurants out here and let them choose which restaurant we'd go to. We're still on the fence. While I don't disagree that the food tastes good (with the exception to the pizza we ordered, but that's a different story--and a bit of a kitchen accident), I feel that for the price they charge for each entree, the portions should be a bit larger. We're a cowboy town--we need cowboy sized portions! I loved our server, although I am ashamed that I didn't get her name. She's exactly what I would expect from a small town: Friendly, personable and hardworking, She asked us how we liked our food, and actually appreciated our comments! This is where the pizza story enters: "Mom" and I ordered "JJ's specialty Pizza" (name was much longer from what I remember), and when we started eating, it just didn't seem to hit the mark for either of us. After a little investigation during the chat with our server, we realized what our pizza seemed to be missing, why it was kind of dry--the kitchen forgot the base sauce! The server apologized, even offered us a new pizza, but we were already done, so we politely declined. When she brought us our check, she brought Mom and I each our own slice of cake as a sort of apology, along with a cup full of the special pizza sauce, so it can be drizzled over the pizza ! It might have been better to just refund the pizza, but I appreciated the gesture nonetheless. We will be back. I always give restaurants a second chance as long as they are good people/establishment--everyone has a bad day once in a while! As long as they hit the mark next time, we'll jump over to their side of the fence as regular customers. If not... Fingers crossed! read more

So bummed they changed their fettuccini Alfredo recipe. The way they made it before was soooo amazing. The sauce was different, thicker, and you can taste the fresh garlic. Now it's just more watered down and doesn't taste the same :/ have gotten it twice and it hasn't been the same. I got it hoping it was different just that one time, but I'm guessing they changed it. Don't know why :( also, didn't get my garlic cheese bread this time. :/ read more

My family and I visited this place for the first time a couple weeks ago. We were staying at a resort about a mile away from this place. When we walked in my family and I noticed the decor instantly. It was clean inside and the interior decor looked like I was in a family friend's home. The decor had a personal touch. We were greeted promptly by a friendly woman and asked if we were ready to order. Their menu has a variety of foods. We decided on a pizza, a green salad, an appetizer (zucchini sticks) and two desserts (slice of chocolate cake and beignets) because we couldn't choose just one dessert. The food was delicious and hot. The desserts tasted freshly made. We did not plan on coming here but came across this place on our way to a vacation spot. We were pleasantly surprised with the customer service and quality of food.This is a must try spot if you are in Tehachapi. We will be coming back to try different items on the menu. read more

My son, granddaughter and I decided to go out for dinner and we thought we would try this restaurant because we had never been there. We were wonderfully surprised. The welcoming waitress could not have been sweeter which is always a good start. We ordered appetizers and the sauces that were served were homemade and delicious. My son loved his pizza and my granddaughter's chicken sandwich was not only made with the freshest chicken, vegetables and bun but had a beautiful presentation. Our side salads were impressive, they actually make their croutons rather than the type you usually get with small salads. We loved it and will be back soon. read more

I have eaten here several times with my family and the food was always great. Pizza, wings, salad and they actually had a draft beer selection. There is seating both indoor and outdoor, it can be busy at times but still great food. If you have time this place is worth the drive. Tehachapi has some good restaurants but if you are out and about wine tasting in the local area I would recommend stopping by Papa's for lunch or dinner. read more

Great food and super friendly staff. No waiting, we were seated and we ordered in less than 10 min. Drinks came out immediately. And then appetizers within 10 minutes. Food was fast. Food was very tasty. After we paid our bill we exited the restaurant. The waitress came running out calling us. I had dropped my wallet and she found it and returned it to me. Coming from Orange County and LA, we always have high expectations for food. We were completely shocked at how good this restaurant is. In our opinion, this place is the best restaurant in Tehachapi. My husband and I love eating here! We eat here anytime we don't feel like cooking. The reason I'm giving it three stars is for their delivery option. We've ordered out for delivery about three times and haven't been satisfied with the food. It's been cold or just not as good as when you dine in, which is understandable. This last time we ordered burgers (which have been amazing when we've dined in). The burgers looked great on the outside, but my husband discovered part way through his burger that the patty was almost raw and crumbling. It's safe to say we won't be ordering delivery or dining in for awhile. read more
