The food is ok!!! The service I'd give a 2 out of 10. The view is cool but really it's just a lake. The owner just gives a bad taste to the establishment. He is such a womanizer as well. Absolutely does not respect woman at all. The staff is doing their job and he is so negative to them. BTW the owner hates people with service animals. This is the second time I've came here and I just don't like the way he is at all. The establishment could be so much nicer if the owner had more respect to people. I normally give Buisness's a 2nd chance to show a difference in the way I feel about a place. This is my 2nd time here and will certainly be my last. The owner is a very bitter person. I served this country and this is the respect I get for having my service dog with me!!!!

Really? In my 300+ reviews, I've never witnessed anything like this. How could this place possibly manage such a precipitous decline in just a few short months? (See review from Jul 9, 2025) Let's try to unpack this: - Initial 4 star visit last July: 1) beautiful location on Lake Conroe 2) darling server 3) certified service dog that was warmly welcomed after proper federal and Texas ADA compliant questions were asked 4) a really fun and memorable experience - Recent visit: 1) much enthusiasm to return here after giving them a great review last July for a splendid experience 2) another darling server who professionally inquired about my friend's service dog 3) darling server then seats us accordingly 4) darling server cheerfully takes our drink orders while we perused the food menu 5) a few minutes later, a hostile young woman with a major scowl on her face approaches us and snidely makes ill-informed remarks about the very same service dog that was welcomed in the initial visit 6) this dismal individual quickly realizes she doesn't possess the ability to hold an intelligent conversation regarding ADA criteria and petulantly retreats back behind the bar 7) we weren't asked to leave, but accepting or rewarding her petty nonsense was not going to happen...so we voluntarily left in a polite manner No further time was wasted to determine if this individual was either a manager or a bartender on a cheap power trip, but a little consideration for your servers would be prudent. It's inconceivable that professional servers can possibly generate income (tips) by having another team member unnecessarily insert herself replete with ignorant and abject behavior, while alienating returning customers in the process. This is a huge bar and was basically empty on a big NFL game day. Attached are the federal and state statutes so DRL&P CORPORATION can educate their hospitality staff in order to avoid any embarrassment and indignation going forward.

Our waitress Jen was amazing! She didn't miss a beat, brought everything out quick, checked on us and went & above and beyond to suggest menu items. We are new to the area and she suggested things for us to do. She's an asset to Papa's. Will request her every time we come! Food is amazing! Atmosphere 10/10

place is horrible. the onion rings were not cooked, took a bite full of uncooked flour. disgusting. they also refused to take the uncooked onion rings off our bill and did not replace them. come here if the view makes up for the horrible dining experience.

Walk up counter service with a menu split neatly into cold cut and oven baked sandwiches. Going with the Devito, my mind was thoroughly blown by how flavorful the red sauce and meats were all together, it had a combination of textures from the crusty bread cured cuts that made it fun to chew through every bite. My Stallone was also just such a pleasant mix of flavor with the pesto playing a bigger role on the cold cut options. This is one of the places where I feel like you can spin the wheel and get a winner with whatever fate decides. Things seem pretty easy and affordable here. Portions were pretty big here and around $12-$15 a sandwich, more than enough for a single person with some for a midnight snack later. There's a good bit of seating inside with some red gingham table clothes to eat over. It's worth the visit if your in Montgomery or after a day on the Lake!

My only disappointment was that the menu described it as coming on a crusty Italian roll, but the bread was soft with no crunch. A true crusty roll would have taken it from great to outstanding. The girl at the counter recommended getting the hot peppers so I got some on the side, and she was absolutely right--I'll definitely be adding those to future sandwiches. My husband ordered the Danza but accidentally received the Dinero. He still enjoyed it and gave it a solid 7/10. We also tried the Chicken Parmesan. It had good flavor, though it was a little too bread-heavy for my taste. Overall, the food was fresh, flavorful, and the portions were more than generous. We'll definitely be back to work our way through more of the menu.

What a mistake I waited so long to make! This place did not disappoint. We started with the fondue, and wow... rich, creamy, and served piping hot like molten cheese lava in a proper fondue pot. The toasted French bread cubes were perfectly dunkable, and that cheese has more pull than the President. It's pure cheesy happiness in a pot--seriously, the cure for any bad mood. The beet carpaccio was another standout: beautifully thin slices drizzled with sweet fig balsamic, topped with goat cheese crumbles and fresh microgreens. Even the beet skeptics at our table went back for seconds. Next came the strawberry goat cheese salad, and I'm officially a convert. I used to avoid fruit on salads, but this one changed my mind completely. Sweet strawberries, creamy goat cheese, and crisp greens in perfect balance. I'm already planning my next visit with grilled salmon on top. For mains we shared the chicken paillard--light, bright with lemon, and paired with dreamy whipped mashed potatoes--and the steak frites. The steak was tender and juicy, but let's be honest... those frites stole the show. Fresh-cut, double-fried, perfectly crispy and salty. I could have eaten an endless basket of them. Absolute drool-worthy. We finished the night with sharing a plate of beignets. Warm, fluffy and dusted with powdered sugar. The service was phenomenal, especially for a large group. Our server never missed a beat, and the whole team was warm and attentive. The drink menu is excellent too--great selection of beers, wines, and creative cocktails. The Napoleon was our table favorite by far. Petite Suzette has officially earned a new set of regulars. We'll be back later this week, and I can't wait to try even more. If you're anywhere near Montgomery, do yourself a favor and go in. You won't regret it!

I decided to have a lunch date with my son, and the entire outing felt peaceful, relaxed, and exactly what we needed. The ambience was lovely, the weather was perfect, and the lakeside scenery added that extra touch that makes a meal feel like a moment. I ordered the Seafood Ravioli -- cheese raviolis covered in a rich crab bisque cream sauce with sautéed crawfish tails, shrimp, spinach, cherry tomatoes, and Parmesan. It was absolutely delicious and full of flavor, worth every bit of the $21.99. My son had the Grilled Chicken Sandwich with applewood smoked bacon, pepper jack cheese, and Cajun honey mustard aioli. He enjoyed it completely, and at $15.49, it was a great portion and value. The service was friendly, the atmosphere was inviting, and the food was genuinely good. I definitely see why this is a favorite amongst the locals and my coworkers party. Patio seating gives a gorgeous view of the water or you can sit inside amongst the many tables and booths available. As for the food, they offer cajun-inspired eats and seafood options here, all of which are quite tasty. They have oysters available along with crawfish if you want to go that avenue. My girlfriend and I kept it simple starting with the stuffed mushrooms, comes with 7 mushrooms stuffed with crab in a butter sauce. Pretty tasty although most of the flavor comes from the sauce. As for entrees, she ordered the cajun pasta while I went with the cajun shrimp cobb salad. The pasta is quite large and rich which suited her. I enjoyed the salad which had all the fixings of a cobb salad; I would've preferred the egg be chopped up but I can't complain. We finished our meal with the bread pudding which was delicious and full of cinnamon and caramel. Apparantly it's their best-selling dessert and I can see why. I noticed they also have live music here on certain days and an expansive happy hour. While this spot is far from where we live, we're definitely open to coming back here to taste other items.
