    Leftover Calzone

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Pretty good food with clean interior, not too loud, good service.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The large calzone (the picture is about 1/4 of it) serves 5 people. All servings are very big.

Been loving the pizza shack. I just moved to the area recently and I go at least once a week. I usually have the blackened chicken and the fettuccine Alfredo... it's delicious fresh consistent the salads are crisp and very fresh. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a very family oriented atmosphere even though when I go, I usually sit at the bar because I'm by myself people talk to you the staff is friendly and the prices are very reasonable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The pizza is incredible also!

This is the very best Calzone place; I had mine with anchovies, mushrooms & artichoke hearts. The Medium size portion is huge!

    Spinach & Garlic Pizza

My family and I came for lunch on a Saturday and there was plenty of seating available. We had the nicest waiter who was very accommodating and got us what we needed. We started with the appetizer sampler with garlic bread, fried mozzarella and fried ravioli. It was all super delicious and we devoured it. For our entree, we got the veggie pizza and spinach and garlic. The spinach and garlic was my favorite! I really loved the flavors of it. For 2 pizzas, 1 appetizer, and 4 drinks our total was $85 which was pretty good.

Is there a shortage of pepperoni or are they just watching their costs? My last three pizzas have looked like this. Some slices don't even have one piece of pepperoni other slices share pepperoni. They used to be really generous with the pepperoni. I'm not sure what's going on there.

    The kids Mac and cheese

We came here for pizza because we were in the area, it was getting late, and the kids were hungry. Funny enough, the menu was so varied that none of us got the pizza. We had 2 adults, a preteen, and 2 toddlers. My preteen and I got the large sized strawberry walnut salad (we swapped the Gorgonzola for feta because we aren't fans of the Gorgonzola) with raspberry vinaigrette. It was incredibly good! There were plenty of toppings and dressing. They obviously didn't cheap out on us. The lettuce and strawberries were fresh and flavorful. I would definitely order this again and I'll probably be craving it. My husband ordered the caprese salad. It was alright. Just what would be expected of a caprese salad with lettuce. I'm not sure what kind of dressing it came with but he got some balsamic and used that instead, going with the traditional flavors. The ingredients were fresh but it wasn't outstanding and I'm not sure he would order it again. My 3 year old ordered the Mac and cheese. I'm positive he was 100% expecting the leading boxed brand as he normally refuses to eat anything but that. There's a first time for everything, he ate it ALL! No complaints, no hesitation, and not even a question about his usual brand choice. This is a huge win as he is monumentally picky. One note on this, my 3 year old is a type one diabetic and there was no nutrition information available for any of the food. I would love to see that shared somewhere or available on their website. My almost 2 year old for the ravioli. He's never had ravioli before but he loved it. I was a bit nervous because most of these places serve ravioli with crunchy edges or barely any sauce. These were perfectly pillowy, well cooked, and there was plenty of sauce. It came with 4 good-sized raviolis and he ate it all! I think it's the perfect serving for little kids. They satisfied everybody in my family and that is HARD so we will likely be back. The restaurant is loud and there are a lot of large groups. We didn't mind the large groups or noise but we have 3 kids so not much bothers us by way of noise. We were quoted a 35 minute wait in a Friday night and I think it was actually closer to 20, so that was nice. I do think they had other areas that may have been a little nicer or better for a smaller group or a date but I'm not sure. There were a lot of people dressed up nicely so I'm sure people go there for group events.

Walk up counter service with a menu split neatly into cold cut and oven baked sandwiches. Going with the Devito, my mind was thoroughly blown by how flavorful the red sauce and meats were all together, it had a combination of textures from the crusty bread cured cuts that made it fun to chew through every bite. My Stallone was also just such a pleasant mix of flavor with the pesto playing a bigger role on the cold cut options. This is one of the places where I feel like you can spin the wheel and get a winner with whatever fate decides. Things seem pretty easy and affordable here. Portions were pretty big here and around $12-$15 a sandwich, more than enough for a single person with some for a midnight snack later. There's a good bit of seating inside with some red gingham table clothes to eat over. It's worth the visit if your in Montgomery or after a day on the Lake!

I'd have to say, the sandwich was pretty life changing and it's something I want to try to replicate, but likely can't 100%. Although they have many sandwiches to choose from, the Stallone was the one recommended to me. The bread is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and has a concoction of pesto, cheese, tomato and garlic? Inside it's LOADED with capicola, ham, salami, soppresata, and provolone. The sandwich was definitely a flavor bomb and I still think about it til this day. I would love to go back and try some other sandwiches of theirs too!

It gives everything a cozy, charming feel with a lot of character. Parking, though, can be tricky. It's limited, and if you're wearing heels, the rocky ground and steep hill can make it a bit of a challenge when the lot fills up. We had reservations but arrived a little early, and they were able to seat us without an issue. Service was solid overall. The staff was quick to let us know what items were unavailable, which helped with decision-making. I did notice a dish being served that wasn't on the menu, and when I asked about it, we found out it was a seafood and noodle special. Two of us decided to try it. For food, we started with the sautéed garlic ricotta appetizer, which was a standout. It had a really nice balance of mild sweetness and savory flavor. The eggplant parmesan was huge and easily shareable between two people, with great flavor throughout. Honestly, most of the portions felt big enough to split. I ordered the seafood special, and while the flavor was decent, the shrimp were consistently overcooked and chewy, which made it hard to enjoy. The mussels were the highlight of the dish, though they reminded me of the frozen kind you can heat up at home. Overall, it was an okay experience. Not somewhere I'd go out of my way to recommend, but if it were the only option in town, I'd consider going back.

The Not So Good: Although happy they had a parking lot - wish there was more. The Ugly: The special of the night - seafood over pasta. Noodles were light and delicious, seafood looked fresh but everything was overshadowed by the level of garlic. I love garlic but not when that's all I taste. Such a shame because it had great potential.
