We had a wonderful experience at our dinner tonight. My husband and I ordered from the restaurant week menu and it did not disappoint. I ordered the wedge salad ($5 up charge - totally worth it ) and my husband had the Caesar salad. So delicious. And I had a tuna ponzu which was so delicious. My husband ordered the pork belly and he enjoyed it. For our entire my husband had the chicken lemon caper dish and I opted for a red snapper dish. Dessert was a pistachio cake for him and crème brûlée for me. Both were delicious. We ordered martinis to start with and they were perfect. It was a delicious meal and our server was excellent. Nice restaurant with full bar. I ordered the spicy chicken alfredo. BFF ordered the ribeye medium with green beans and some mushrooms. She said everything was good. The steak was more medium well, but good nonetheless. I enjoyed my pasta. Some rolls came with this unique dipping sauce, kind of vingery (word of the day) and sweet. A sweet butter was included. It took a while to get our food considering we were the only ones in the dining area initially. With that being said, we were in no hurry. Drinks. I got the punch rum martini, she got the blue goose. We've been here a few times for "date night". The food is consistently good and the service is always great! My bf likes a good steak and they always cook his just right...still mooing. Lol! They have a good variety of other entrees of you're not a big red meat type of person, like me. Price is on point for what you get and comparable to other "nicer" restaurants in the area. Came here and it was pretty slow on a Sunday afternoon. The service was great, and my food was excellent. My steak was cooked to order and everything tasted fresh. The bread they give you was excellent. My brother got a sirloin and honestly the cut was pretty bad. It should have been cut into a steak sandwich or something. Both of us aren't the type of person to send something back. His sirloin was mostly ligament and it was cooked pretty uneven due to the weird shape. I would rate as a 3 for this but my food was excellent and the service was great. If the pricing was cheaper I wouldn't have issues, but at this price point you can't plate garbage cuts of meat. I want to start with positives. The atmosphere was very nice and our waiter was very friendly and good. Also, the bread and sauce and butter they gave was amazing. This place is advertised as a steakhouse. This was my first time here, never been before so I wanted to try their steaks. I ordered a sirloin steak medium, rare, and my son ordered the Brazilian style sirloin rare. My son's steak was extremely fatty with a lot of gristle and dry. My steak was extremely dry and cooked unevenly. I hate complaining, but when the waiter came by and asked how the steak was I told him that I did not enjoy the steak. It was extremely dry. Also, we got a side of green beans with the steak. There was zero flavor they were territory plain. When I brought the steak to the attention of the waiter, he offered a dessert and assisted that the steaks are usually amazing. I told him I came here specifically for the steak and I'm probably not gonna come back. So he said he would remake another steak so I could really have a good experience, which I did appreciated. The second stake that I got still irregularly cooked, some was medium rare, and some was well done. It was still very dry and this time it was very flavorless. I took two bites and it was so dry my teenage son just ate it all. I gave it to him. At that point, I was kinda over it so I just paid the bill. Manager never came back to ask if anything was good or better and I didn't really want to make a big deal so as far as steakhouses I don't recommend it if you're looking for a good steak. We are new to Houston area and it was my wife's birthday and we were exhausted by our move here and she wanted a nice steak place. Red Flame was recommended by a colleague. Ambience is okay, more casual than I expected, and was surprisingly half empty on a Thursday night which should have been a clue. First, there was a piece of hard plastic in my salad, which I pointed out to the server. My wife ordered the center cut filet and I ordered a NY strip, both medium rare. They were decently seared. However as my wife cut into her filet, there was hard gristle throughout, and when she was done eating what she could, 25% remained full of gristle. My steak was tough. The bacon wrapped asparagus was overdone and almost dry. The server was polite, and they comped my wife's steak, but I was honestly surprised that no manager came out to say anything. Wasn't worth the 30 minute drive and we won't be going back. read more

Over-ambitious & lackluster. We arrived just after noon on a Sunday, and there were hardly any patrons. From first impression, the exterior/entrance lacked curb appeal, and the something about the interior also felt uninviting. The tables & chairs are small, the booths are cramped, and the decor is scattered & mismatched - not settling for any particular theme... Looking to one side there's a deer buck mounted on the wall, on the other side a modern mural of a butcher diagram signed by an artist on social media, and to the back by the restroom stalls there's a bamboo wall. From the food to the ambiance, it screams "identity crisis." While the menu offers a variety of cuisines and cultural themes (from French, Asian, Latin, and in between), nothing we tried was incredible. We ordered: - The steak jalapeño sandwich = had very little meat but loaded with too much cheese. The bourbon BBQ sauce missed the mark, tasting more like a fruit jam than highlighting the "bourbon" or "BBQ" elements. - The filet medallions = good, but both the flavor & the presentation were boring. Two tiny discs slapped onto a massive dinner plate. - The ribeye = the best thing our table ordered. It was quite delicious (tasty marinade) and tender (sous vide?) but lacked a good outer sear to make it exceptional. - The sides were "OK." And unfortunately, service was also sub-par. There was no dedicated host to greet us. Our server was friendly but inattentive. The kitchen staff who helped bring items to our table seemed lost & confused. Overall, there was a lack of enthusiasm. Sunday lunch was disappointing and slightly depressing, here. The restaurant needs a better approach to everything.... 3-stars for the effort. If I could give this a 3.5 I would but we will have to settle for 3. I had high expectations given the reviews and comments I've seen on social media but sadly we fell short. We took advantage of HRW menu and pulled up Friday evening. Almost everything on the menu required an upgrade on the HRW price but a good steak isn't cheap so we went in. Started with a couple of seasonal cocktails that were tasty and then dove into the menu. First up was the lobster bisque which was the best bite of the night for me. The soup itself was smokier than most lobster bisques but the sweet chunks of lobster were hard to argue with. Next up for me was their pork belly appetizer (and you know I love my pork belly), it was weirdly plated, skewered and stabbed into a lime and it was incredibly salty. I don't know if mine was a mistake or as intended. The main course for me had to be steak. The HRW menu called for sirloin and I opted to upgrade to a ribeye but it wasn't much of an upgrade. The steak was surprisingly tough and in fairness inconsistent in cook. Terribly disappointing. My dinner companion was satisfied with her filet (also an upgrade) so my experience may not be representative of the norm. Lastly, the bill. Double the advertised price and shockingly so. Yes we had cocktails and yes we opted for the upgrades but on top of that we were charged for sides though we did not select any of the upgraded side options. With a bill of well over $200 and a less than stellar meal, I will look to find my steak elsewhere. read more

3rd time here & this place has become one of my ALL time fav's within Montgomery county & TX in general! This time I called one day prior, to see if they serve a beef Wellington ($47.95) & was told they certainly can with special request, a day in advance. So, I placed my request for 1 beef Wellington & it was cooked perfectly! We ordered Medium & the flavor was impeccable. For the sides, we selected the mixed veggies which consisted of zucchini, squash, red & yellow peppers, broccoli & yellow onions & then mashed potatoes (you can order "loaded" mashed potatoes as well but we don't eat pork so we got the plain & they too were seasoned just right. The veggies were cooked al dente & so still had slight crisp. I apologize for not taking a pic before we began to dig in. The pre meal complimentary rolls with olive oil & spice for dipping & also the brown sugar butter is so tasty as well. I could literally get full from this alone. For an app we ordered the ribeye chicharrones with avocado & it did not disappoint. Come here hungry as the portion sizes are plentiful & my sweetie & I get an app & split an entree & still are unable to finish it all. Everything I've had from Red Flame has been outstanding to say the least! Carlos was our waiter who was attentive & not overbearing. Customer service was great! Our waiter was great, we sat outside on the dog friendly patio with our pup. He brought her water, there were TVs, fans, and cover. Food was delicious! We stopped by for dinner and chose the 4 course prix fixe option. Overall it was a nice meal, although I think next time we'd just order a la carte. First course we had the lobster bisque and house salad. Both were nice, I really enjoyed the bisque with large chunks of lobster meat and the soup was nicely seasoned. Next course was the seared tuna and waygu croquettes. I didn't love the tuna (would have preferred sashimi style rather than seared), the croquettes were nice but not particularly memorable. We had strip steak and ribeye steak and both were delicious, well seasoned and perfectly cooked - the highlight of the meal was definitely the steak. The sides were just ok, the grilled mushrooms and grilled veggies lacked seasoning/flavor. Dessert was a disappointing flop - the chocolate mousse had completely the wrong texture for a mousse, was more like melted ice cream. Not edible. We saw other desserts that looked very impressive (not on the prix fixe menu), such as a giant chocolate ball, so there are likely better options on the regular menu. The wine list was just okay, not the greatest variety/value. Our server was sweet but we felt rushed at times, which isn't the vibe when you're coming to enjoy a 4 course meal at a steak restaurant. The restaurant wasn't very busy, so we didn't expect to be hurried along and rushed through our meal in just over an hour. Greatest lunch secret in MoCo. Red Flame is our new favorite place to sneak away for lunch on the weekend. It is a wonderful place. The service is friendly and attentive. ...and the food? It's AMAZING! I am addicted to the Chimichurri Steak Burger. That alone is a reason to go there but they have a full menu. They also have a big outdoor seating area so our next trip will be to plan a happy hour. My wife had the medallions and raved about them. The filet cheesesteak was a big hit with my daughter. We ate a late lunch here yesterday and although we have dined here in the past, we keep forgetting to write follow up reviews. We were greeted by a nice gentleman and were sat in a comfortable booth. Immediately we got our iced teas and fresh bread with butter and flavored dipping oil which was great because we were hungry. I ordered The Real Margarita with Grand Marnier and wow, it was really really good!! The perfect blend of alcohols and lime juice - refreshing, light, and tasty. Hubby ordered the four course meal with lobster bisque, Korean wings, and Steakhouse Burger with fries. He said it was the best lobster bisque he has ever had and the Korean wings were very tasty. He liked the burger, too, and basically devoured every morsel. I ordered the filet medallions with mashed potatoes and the house salad. It was all so flavorful and fresh and the medallions were tender. I, too, ate every bite! We believe based on the quality of food and the impeccable service at Red Flame Steak &Grill that this restaurant is reasonably priced. What a nice meal we had here. We were looking for a happy hour spot to meet friends and remembered that this steak house had a HH. The drink specials were very appealing. My beer came out extremely cold, just like it should be in the heat of Texas. We enjoyed the hot fresh bread basket which was provided with a saucer of olive oil and spices. Why 5 stars? Because this was an amazing meal start to finish. --- --- --- I have had Red Flame bookmarked for a few months now but just finally made it here tonight. Full disclosure, we ordered to-go because we did not want to subject other patrons to our temper-mental toddler. But even in to-go form, we thought every single thing we ordered was as great as it could be. I ordered the Kentucky BBQ Bourbon Burger and it absolutely hit the spot perfectly. I love a good burger with BBQ sauce and this was a home run. The fries were thick cut and also awesome. I couldn't be happier with them. And lastly, I ordered the Oyster Nachos because I was intrigued by a pretty unique item that combined two loves. They were done very well and for anyone who is a bit scared off by the idea of these, they are not very "oyster-ee". My wife ordered a wedge salad with shrimp and really enjoyed her meal too. Amazing! We are big steakhouse fans. While visiting Texas I wanted to try some Texas steak and man after reading the reviews and looking at other steak house menus. This place set the bar. We even recommended it to our friends that live here. This was worth the half hour drive to find this gem. We'll definitely be visiting here again when we return to Texas. The staff and our waitress Sydney were top notch and super attentive. She gave us great recommendations and took very good care of us. She was so sweet and helpful.
