I went to lunch this past Thurday to celebrate my dear friend's 85th birthday! There were 10 of us there to celebrate her. I have dined at Bubba T's in Willis a few times before. Their burger is my favorite thing to get and as usual, it did not disappoint. Everyone seemed happy with their food choice. The side that I ordered was onion rings. They were also very good however there were only 4 of them. This was not a lunch menu item, it was on their regular menu. The wait staff was very accommodating. They set up a separate table for all of the birthday gifts. They were very attentive and kept drinks filled as needed. It was not busy at all because we arrived after the typical lunch hour. There is plenty of parking and it is easy to get in and out of the parking lot. read more

I'm so torn on this. I had Bubba T's crawfish a few weeks ago in house and it was delicious. Juicy, easy peel, great size, and such a good mix of buttery and spicy. Last night I ordered 3 lbs for takeout. I was told on the phone that it would be 25 minutes. I arrived about 30 minutes after placing my order and was told it was almost done. It came out about 5 minutes later. When I got home it was obvious that it was not the same quality. Too many were dry and obviously had been from an older batch and mixed in with fresher ones. The shells were too soft, the inside was a gray/brown color, and the amount of claws told me an old batch had been dumped in with it. It's $1/ per pound for takeout so I expected it to be the same quality. Logan handled each transaction and was terrific both times. He is an absolute sweetheart. read more

Took a drive from Shenandoah today north to BubbaT's Kitchen in Willis,hadn't been there in a while. The full service restaurant atmosphere is warm, inviting and comfortable. The staff are friendly and very helpful. My choice for lunch was the fabulous seafood gumbo and catfish taco. Boy, I wasn't disappointed! Great Louisiana Creole Cajun food plus salads, burgers, catfish, chicken, salmon, etouffee', fabulous desert choices and much more! Love this place and will get back here soon. We had the best dinner here last night. The food was so fresh and the portions are huge. The buffalo shrimp was an awesome starter! I had the fried fish sandwich which was fantastic. My wife had the blackened chicken which was grilled perfectly and had great flavor. Red beans and rice were a great side dish. Sophia did an amazing job checking on us and was such a delight. My husband and I stopped in for lunch today, and what a great experience. We were immediately greeted by a friendly smiling face and knew we had made the right choice in coming here. The greeter was Kaleb and he was also our server. He explained the menu, told us his favorites, which I always appreciate, then took our order. My husband got the lunch catfish and shrimp and I got the po boy and cup of gumbo. Everything was delicious! My husband ordered the key lime pie for dessert, which he thoroughly enjoyed. I can't wait to come back and try the beignets and bread pudding, as well as other items in the menu. I love supporting local businesses, this place should be packed all the time. Sadly, today it was pretty empty, but hopefully this is only because it's Christmas week and slow this time of year. We will definitely be back, it's a hidden gem here in Willis. read more

facts: service person was full of energy, great information on menu. coordination with kitchen on delivery and attentiveness, booo. one of the members of our table did not receive food until everyone was almost done. requests were delayed. food: fish tacos were really good. beans and rice had a funny taste, could not identify. etouffee - not good, not roux based, more tomato based. boudin balls - nice texture/content, but large taste of oil. chicken strips were dry, not the best. fried catfish good. fried shrimp had a batter that seemed old. shrimp did have a hint of gulf taste to them; they were almost chewy, so slightly overcooked. If you are charging these prices, must deliver quality. dont want to see this business go under; maybe try a smaller menu, and focus on those dishes. going to be a hard pass on visiting this place again. read more

The service here is excellent. Aubrey is friendly and outgoing. The staff offered to glove up and sort through my crawfish leftovers to box it up to go. The restaurant is clean, and fairly quiet. The only reason I gave 4 stars is that the crawfish was too buttery and it could use more seasoning. I would like to see desserts on their menu. Went on a Thursday night. Very few customers. Staff was very friendly. You order at the counter and then sit at a table and wait for your food. We ordered the crab ball and fried pickle appetizers. Pickles were really good. Crab balls were not. There was no real crab in them, just some artificial crab. They were cooked very well, they just had absolutely no taste. Wife got the seafood platter (trying to figure out why chicken comes with it) it was large and pretty good. in the past 1.5 months i have been here about 7 times. each time like all places sit down waitress brings menu order eat etc. tonight i come in sit down wait 30 minutes finally one of two waitresses working ask me if ive ordered? knowing damn well neither of the two had spoken to me. I was told that i have to go up front to the counter to order and that's how it's always been from a waitress in 8 trips ive never seen before. straight lied to my face instead of simply apologizing for the wait. Food is super good here, atmosphere is top notch with the lively Cajun music always playing. The owners and staff are super nice and inviting always making us feel welcome and part of the family ;) My favorites are the chicken and sausage gumbo, boudin balls, fried pickles and etouffée. And my son would say the ranch is the best part! You order when you first come in and then pick your own seat with tables and booths to choose from. They will also bring your food out as it is ready, so you may not get it all at the same time but you are definitely getting it hot and fresh. It all comes pretty fast so there is no awkwardness of waiting to eat with your friends or family. You should definitely try it out, we keep coming back!! read more

Gave this restaurant a second chance and was thoroughly disappointed. Food was below average. Gumbo was watered down and lacked flavor. Hushpuppues were cold. Four adults and one child in party. None of the orders came out together. Side order of fries was delivered first. Poor boy was all bread and lettuce with little shrimp. My order of catfish was ok but not worth the $17. Wife's order of quesedillas was forgotten and delivered after I finished my blackened catfish. Restaurant hadn't any fountain drinks and we had to wait for iced tea. Which was delivered warm to the table. Stay away from this place. You pay for your meals when ordering and no one came by to see how our meals were. I walked in and placed a takeout order around 1pm. The place was empty outside of one booth, but there was several cars waiting outside for food. The boudin balls were excellent. I liked the tilapia fish taco. The gumbo was an accidental addition to my order. It was pretty good but I should admit that I don't like shrimp in my gumbo. Our experience was awesome. This is an order at the counter and pay after being seated kind of place. Cajun decor and food ! We ordered crawfish crab balls, and boudin balls, the appetizers came out quickly and hot they were all delicious. You do have to refill your own drinks here and the plates you eat appetizers on are paper which was different but easy to clean up! I enjoyed our dinner, the sweet ladies working there also gave our two year old beads at the cash register because she asked for some they were super nice and went above and beyond to answer questions as well. Wow! We used to LOVE coming here for dinner. But, I think tonight was our last time! Let me preface with, the last time we tried to have dinner here, we walked out half way through ordering because they were already out of something we were ordering, they had no idea how to honor their own coupon, and they made sure we fully understood that they were closing in 45 mins (aka-our arriving at 8:15 was inconvenient). So, back to tonight... First, at 7:15pm we were told they were out of sweet tea and would not be making any more for the night. Boss' rule, because leftover tea would be a waste! Two people in our party wanted sweet tea. The charge for those two, let alone anyone else in line behind us, or who came in after us that would have wanted tea, would have paid for a new batch. That's just asinine to refuse tea to customers at your restaurant. Then, after our table of four was done eating, we spent an additional $30 for two more meals to take home to our kids. We asked for cocktail sauce to go with the fried shrimp and were told they were now out of that as well! We got home with our shrimp meal and cheeseburger with ketchup, lettuce, tomatoes & pickles, only to find out it was a cheeseburger with mayo and onions. First impression is that they are expensive. Really need to offer combo meals for there PoBoys and sandwiches, cost 15.00 for a sandwich, coleslaw and a drink. Atmosphere is relaxing with the blues music playing in the background. I would love to give this place more stars but just can't. On my first visit I had a combo of fried shrimp and catfish. The catfish was probably the best I've ever had. Cooked perfectly and no fishy smell or taste. Shrimp on the other hand were over cooked and tough. Love there Red Beans and Rice also. Tonight I ordered the shrimp PoBoy which came highly recommend and a medium bowl of Red Beans and Rice. First, I wish I had looked at the menu before ordering a medium size side. $6.50 Are you kidding? That's 2/3rds the price of my sandwich. Get the combo, it comes with 2 sides. Then I have to say my PoBoy was an insult to any PoBoy ever made. Needs to be renamed The Shrimp "Poor" Boy. Three and one half medium sized shrimp on each half of the sandwich. Are you kidding me?? Disappointed to say the least. This needs to be addressed ASAP. I'll be back one more time and hoping management has fixed the problems with their kitchen staff or it will be my last visit.
