They have windows on multiple sides of the building and a fair amount of outdoor seating. The young woman at the window enthusiastically took on my request for her favorite scoop. She presented me with a cone of strawberry cheesecake ice cream and mentioned she scooped it to have extra graham cracker swirl, which is her favorite part. Love that! Because of the heat, I opted to eat my ice cream in the car. This ice cream packs a punch in sweetness. Between the cheesecake, the graham cracker swirl and the strawberry mixed in, this is a sweet tooth's dream cone. While sweeter than my preference usually, I did enjoy this cone down to the last bite! It was a fun little trip to come by here, and it's good to know when I'm in the area, I can stop by for some quality ice cream!

They have a good amount of flavors, many of them being of the chocolate or candy variety. I usually get a delicious chocolate peanut butter cup flavor. I do wish they had more fruit flavors like peach, blueberry, lemon or lime pie, etc. The portions are generous. They use to be cash only but they take cards now with a small fee to cover the cost. There are picnic tables outside so you can happily eat your ice cream while gazing at cars driving by on Reservoir. Not the most alluring view but they try to make it inviting with flowers in planters. And you have ice cream - so it's all good!

I originally parked in the small lot on the right (when facing the building) and it was a very tight squeezed, but then realized there was a much larger parking lot on the other side, so I moved over there. It's been a while since I've visited The Inside Scoop. The last time I remember going, you went inside and ordered the ice cream. I'm not sure when they switched to the window, but I found it to be much more convenient than many people being squished inside a small space to order. There were lots of choices of ice cream to try, but I ultimately picked blueberry pie in a sugar cone. It was delicious. My mom picked peppermint (her favorite flavor) and was very happy with how many chunks of candy were in it. The employee that took our order was very friendly and seemed to scoop our ice cream well. Overall, The Inside Scoop is a must-try ice cream spot in this area.

The heatwave was doing its thing, but luckily there's a good amount of shade in front of the building as you wait to be served. There's a tiny parking lot to the right of the boldly painted building, but an even bigger one to the left. If you have a larger vehicle, I recommend parking in the left lot. Plenty of space for you there! The young woman at the counter was super peppy and was excited to scoop me her favorite, black raspberry Oreo, on special that week. I grabbed extra napkins because the humidity outside was already working against me. I walked over to the seating area on the side and got to work quickly before nature won. The black raspberry ice cream was cool and creamy, great raspberry flavor without tasting artificial as some do. The oreos adding some chocolatey richness to the experience. It felt indulgent and refreshing. I basically inhaled it so I wouldn't wear it but every bite was fantastic. Inside Scoop has been there for ages, and for good reason. Next time you're in North Kingstown, swing by and try it out for yourself!

Even though it's Massachusetts technically, we claim them as part of Rhode Island tradition lol One thing about Eskimo King, there is a lot of parking! The red brick building sits on the edge of a small field with picnic tables and two photos ops, you can be an ice cream cone or take a selfie in the giant Adirondack chair. It was a beautiful day to get some ice cream. The service is walk up, cash only. The red brick the perfect background for the big white signs that list every possible ice cream flavor you can think of. This was the first time I would be getting ice cream that wasn't soft serve. As I tend to do during a scoop shop month, I asked the cashier what her favorite was. She suggested coffee Oreo. A few moments later, I had my cup of ice cream. Creamy, rich coffee flavor and still crunchy bits of Oreo, a more adult version of the classic cookies and cream. It was delicious. There is no doubt I'll be back! Only a matter of when.

They have a very big parking lot, a few of picnic tables, and a little playground. I think my jaw dropped to the floor when I saw that they have about 200 soft serve options to choose from and on top of that, if you don't see anything you like, you can create your own. Their hard serve list is far shorter, so I decided to choose something unique from the soft serve list like the egg nog cheesecake. It appears they only offer wafer cones since they did not ask (I forgot to ask too) and it came out in a wafer one. After a couple minutes it came out and for a kiddie, it was a good size. I tasted more of the egg nog, but it was delicious and creamy.

I ordered a 2 scoop 1st flavor Tiramisu and 2nd the Biscoff cookie butter. Both fantastic! We got a little lost getting since it is behind a building with a shared parking lot. Apparently, this place is home to the donut bomb ($7.99) which is like a donut sandwich, where they stuff ice cream of your choice into two halves of a donut (no hole) and top it with toppings. There are also some pre-crafted combos like a peanut butter, oreo, M&M, and more. With my coupon, I was told I could upgrade to the donut bomb for $3 (the coupon holding a $4.99 value for a single scoop). Since it felt like a once in a lifetime opportunity, I went for it and decided on the peanut butter one. My mom ordered the caramel single scoop ice cream cone. I did not spend too much time reading the menu, which I regretted since it turned out the peanut butter ice cream is a chocolate based with sheets of peanut butter scattered throughout instead of a peanut butter base with peanut butter sheets. But I did love how it came with tiny peanut butter cups on top. For presentation purposes, the whipped cream did look nice under the donut bomb, but for practicality purposes, it would've been nice to have the whipped cream on top. The donut was not too sweet, and was very soft, but I felt it took away from the flavor of the ice cream. I loved the peanut butter sauce on top as well. Overall, I would've preferred a traditional cone, but I applaud them for having something different on the menu that most people seem to love. The caramel ice cream was very delicious and generously packed with caramel elements. The staff were extremely kind. There is a field to the left was walk around, or sit and eat ice cream picnic style, but there are also lots of seating to the left including some high top tables, a small outdoor patio furniture set, and round picnic tables with umbrellas.

Loads of parking and a smattering of picnic tables nearby to sit down with your frozen delight. The woman at the window gave me all the fantastic details on their signature dish, the Donut Bomb. For a mere $3 I could upgrade my free scoop to a divine concoction of donut, ice cream, fudge, sprinkles and my choice of topping (strawberries for me). She also informed me of their Scoops 4 Vets program. Donate an extra $2 on your order and a vet will get an ice cream for free. And who am I to deny anyone, much less a vet, some ice cream? Especially Hershey ice cream, which is what they sell here. When ready, I am handed my glorious treat. It was perfectly nestled in a container on a bed of whipped cream. I spent some time getting a photo and then admittedly I got distracted by my phone for a few minutes. That was my first mistake. The second was not using the spoon I grabbed, instead thinking I forgot to get one, when in reality it was under my container in my lap :*( I attempted to pick this up and eat it like a sandwich, even though all signs pointed to USE A SPOON. Probably the messiest ice cream of my life but 100% delicious. As I kicked myself for my foolishness, I was able to console myself a little by reminding myself that I can always come back and try again. Now that I know about the Scoop Shack, I'll be back for more Donut Bombs!
