    Grand opening snacks

I was a regular at the Paper Source in Alexandria, VA - it was right down the street from me on King. And it is HUGE! I also love Kate's Paperie in NYC, so that's why this particular Paper Source only gets 4 stars, instead of 5 - this place is TINY! I've been here twice - once during the Grand Opening, and again another Saturday. Each time, I had to maneuver my way through the displays and other shoppers. It was pretty frustrating the setup and small venue (again, as compared to their competitor and another store location). For realistically not much more $$ than say, a Hallmark card, you can get cute, quirky, and fancy greeting cards - singles and in packs. They also help you design event invitations, but I've never needed the service so cannot report on the pricing there. They've already stocked the 2013 calendars - these are absolutely my favorite and they make great gifts. Each of the larger calendars has instructions on how to make a paper craft out of each of the months past, and some of the other papers sold in the store coordinate with these graphics. Last, beyond the crafty goodies, they have a great selection of cool/cute gift items - eg aprons, mugs, desk clocks, small kids (adults, too!) toys, and lunchboxes, to name a very few. This is a great place to find a consumable gift, and the shopping bags and packaging make for free gift wrapping. Love this place - just expected a larger, more spacious location!

    Card workshop with Katie

I just recently discovered that store. But I am already addicted. Not only they have all this little cute nick nacks and gift, it's heaven for everyone that loves arts and crafts. Every month they have different workshops. I took my first cards making workshop with Katie. It was awesome. We were instructed very well, Katie introduced new techniques and left us enough freedom to still be creative and make some unique pieces ourselves. I had so much fun and time flew by. Even after the shop was officially closed, they let us stay, finish up and do some last shopping. And wait I forgot the best part, the macarone shop next door brought free samples. I had such a blast that I immediately signed up for the next workshop! Keep the great work up, it is great to see people that really love their job!

They say you find happiness when you least expect it and today, I stumbled upon my new-found happy place. I knew Paper Source was coming to town but I didn't know when to expect them. Then, while walking through the Scottsdale Quarter, I came across their newly opened store and I was instantly in crafting heaven! This isn't just your run of the mill paper store. No, this is anything you've ever looked for, wanted or hoped for that has anything to do with paper products or crafts. This shop sells everything from unique journals and one-of-a-kind sheets of wrapping paper, to mustache lunch pails and artsy 17-month calendars (that start in August '12 and go through December '13). Here you will find one-of-a-kind cards for any occasion. Here you will find products like journals, sticky notes, pens, recipe books, gifts for kids and adults, customized stationary and more. The lists could go on for days, but instead I think that everyone should just visit this adorable shop. Whether you are into creating crafts, looking for a gift, in need of a birthday/anniversary/thank you card, need a calendar, need a journal or simply want to get lost in happy-land while browsing through the store, just drop by for a peek. I also noticed that Paper Source offers a variety of classes, including holiday card making classes, wedding classes and more. So if you're like me and looking for new tips on getting crafty, this is your spot!

We used their services for our custom wedding invitation, welcome bags, ceremony programs, place cards, menus, day-of signage and seating chart. Upon our first meeting, we instantly fell in love with her style, eye for detail and devotion to her projects. Rene worked with us to produce a beautiful invitation suite and our guests were taken aback by the elegant touch she added to our wedding day. We had guests who thought her work was so beautiful that they didn't want to open the invitation for fear that they would damage it and we are still having people tell us how gorgeous our invitation is several months after the wedding. Rene walked us through the process smoothly and professionally, designing some themes that tied the wedding together with our color palette and floral design. She communicated with us in a timely fashion and was very patient and helpful in getting things just right, even when extra drafts were required. She combines talent and professionalism with warmth and a personal touch. We cannot thank her enough for all of her hard work and highly recommend Celebrations in Paper for any and all of your paper needs!

It was a high stakes do or die wrapping emergency :). Ms. Haley, and Ms. Melissa, were just fantastic. They helped me just absolutely whirlwind a stack of gifts. Im sure they had other work that needed to be done before closing, they were patient and kind and incredibly efficient, and didn't make me feel like a bother or rude even though it was so close to closing. And took me thought a whole wrapping design concept, to make sure everything matched inside and out. As a shopper, who failed to plan ahead, I knew that the store had other responsibilities aside from my "I need this wrapped RIGHT now" situation. And halfway through my wrapping a flurry of customers came in the store, I didn't make any comments, it would have been TOTALLY reasonable for Haley and Melissa to politely tell me "Sir we close in 15 minutes and have 10 other customers, you can pick this up first thing in the morning." But they didn't leave me hanging, their communication and teamwork together was stellar; one would tag out help customers, make sure that they had a good experience, while the other attended to me; then if someone else needed help, one would leave the wrapping table while the other moved in seamlessly - to make sure my deadline was met. They still took the time to give attention to any small details, like cutting tails in the ribbon or making sure my gifts had nice tags; even though they were under the clock. They worked quickly without working hastily, it was efficient not rushed. I watched these two women set a wrapping design/speed record, while attending to 6-8 other active customers. Everyone was happy, laughing together, no one felt like I was getting prioritized and I didn't feel like I got pushed to the bottom of the importance list. Because of their skill, effort, and kindness I was able to make my event on time and share a few special last moments of heartfelt gift giving with one of my closest friends before his move. These two woman completed the amount of work of 4 staff members without breaking a sweat, with a smile on their face. This is my new go to store, and Paper Source is very lucky to have them both.

I thought for sure that Paper Source would have it b/c in the past, I've found so many cool birthday things, most esp cards. It's been a minute since I've been there and had no idea 1) they're owned by Barnes & Noble now 2) they have a rewards program 3) they have someone who works there who goes ABOVE AND BEYOND to help. I point this out b/c in the past I've had to flag someone down for help as if I was at a huge department store. As soon as I came in the store, this gentleman Joel helped me. Even when we found there was NO "Happy 75th Bday: cards, he continued to make suggestions for how to help me celebrate my friend's 75th, including buying the numbered candles they have (which I love & have bought there) as well a bunch of other creative ideas. Much appreciated! Their inventory is outrageous! So many interesting & unusual items to buy for gifts, parties, etc. One of those unusual items is the Magic Butterfly that you wind up & put in a card & when the person opens up the card, it FLIES out of the card. So cool! And the person receiving it can wind it back up & pay it forward to another friend or fam member. (Side note: Make sure you watch the "Magic Butterful" video if you buy one b/c it actually shows you how to wind it so it works & it doesn't break).

As soon as I found the website for Be in Love, I looked no further. I could tell their aesthetic was pleasing and I'd be sure to find something I liked! We worked with Erin and her team on the Save the Dates, Invites, Reception Materials, and Thank You Cards. They were always timely and professional. Even in meetings, when my fiancé and I didn't always see eye to eye, Erin was always patient with us. She also offered helpful recommendations on colors, patterns, as well as best practices on timelines. Initially I thought we'd create our own invite with her expertise, but given we were in a bit of a time crunch, we just went with one of her templates. It ended up looking great and I was pleased with the outcome. We got engaged in November and our wedding was in June. If I had more time, I would have loved to create our own template, which I'm sure takes more time/meetings. We had an initial meeting to discuss Save the Date, and a separate meeting to discuss the invitations. We also had a third meeting because we were doing some reception materials (cake flavors, bar menu, welcome sign, etc) through them as well. Aside from the meetings, everything is pretty much all done via email where you are emailing what you need, adjustments to patterns, colors, guest list, etc. It does get to the point where you have a massive email chain with multiple emails, which makes it difficult to see what you sent and when-- and that's just how I feel, I can't imagine how it feels for them having so many emails from different clients. So it would be helpful if they got some type of messaging system in place as opposed to just emailing. I'm not sure how that could work but I'm sure there is some type of business platform that allows client messages. There were so many emails at one point, that they did miss that my address had changed by the time we did the Thank You cards. Fortunately, I had the email showing where I had asked them to update the address. They owned the mistake and quickly got the updated envelopes printed. Overall, I can't imagine using anyone else for your wedding needs. Definitely recommend!
