    Grand opening snacks

I was a regular at the Paper Source in Alexandria, VA - it was right down the street from me on King. And it is HUGE! I also love Kate's Paperie in NYC, so that's why this particular Paper Source only gets 4 stars, instead of 5 - this place is TINY! I've been here twice - once during the Grand Opening, and again another Saturday. Each time, I had to maneuver my way through the displays and other shoppers. It was pretty frustrating the setup and small venue (again, as compared to their competitor and another store location). For realistically not much more $$ than say, a Hallmark card, you can get cute, quirky, and fancy greeting cards - singles and in packs. They also help you design event invitations, but I've never needed the service so cannot report on the pricing there. They've already stocked the 2013 calendars - these are absolutely my favorite and they make great gifts. Each of the larger calendars has instructions on how to make a paper craft out of each of the months past, and some of the other papers sold in the store coordinate with these graphics. Last, beyond the crafty goodies, they have a great selection of cool/cute gift items - eg aprons, mugs, desk clocks, small kids (adults, too!) toys, and lunchboxes, to name a very few. This is a great place to find a consumable gift, and the shopping bags and packaging make for free gift wrapping. Love this place - just expected a larger, more spacious location!

    Card workshop with Katie

I just recently discovered that store. But I am already addicted. Not only they have all this little cute nick nacks and gift, it's heaven for everyone that loves arts and crafts. Every month they have different workshops. I took my first cards making workshop with Katie. It was awesome. We were instructed very well, Katie introduced new techniques and left us enough freedom to still be creative and make some unique pieces ourselves. I had so much fun and time flew by. Even after the shop was officially closed, they let us stay, finish up and do some last shopping. And wait I forgot the best part, the macarone shop next door brought free samples. I had such a blast that I immediately signed up for the next workshop! Keep the great work up, it is great to see people that really love their job!

They say you find happiness when you least expect it and today, I stumbled upon my new-found happy place. I knew Paper Source was coming to town but I didn't know when to expect them. Then, while walking through the Scottsdale Quarter, I came across their newly opened store and I was instantly in crafting heaven! This isn't just your run of the mill paper store. No, this is anything you've ever looked for, wanted or hoped for that has anything to do with paper products or crafts. This shop sells everything from unique journals and one-of-a-kind sheets of wrapping paper, to mustache lunch pails and artsy 17-month calendars (that start in August '12 and go through December '13). Here you will find one-of-a-kind cards for any occasion. Here you will find products like journals, sticky notes, pens, recipe books, gifts for kids and adults, customized stationary and more. The lists could go on for days, but instead I think that everyone should just visit this adorable shop. Whether you are into creating crafts, looking for a gift, in need of a birthday/anniversary/thank you card, need a calendar, need a journal or simply want to get lost in happy-land while browsing through the store, just drop by for a peek. I also noticed that Paper Source offers a variety of classes, including holiday card making classes, wedding classes and more. So if you're like me and looking for new tips on getting crafty, this is your spot!

We used their services for our custom wedding invitation, welcome bags, ceremony programs, place cards, menus, day-of signage and seating chart. Upon our first meeting, we instantly fell in love with her style, eye for detail and devotion to her projects. Rene worked with us to produce a beautiful invitation suite and our guests were taken aback by the elegant touch she added to our wedding day. We had guests who thought her work was so beautiful that they didn't want to open the invitation for fear that they would damage it and we are still having people tell us how gorgeous our invitation is several months after the wedding. Rene walked us through the process smoothly and professionally, designing some themes that tied the wedding together with our color palette and floral design. She communicated with us in a timely fashion and was very patient and helpful in getting things just right, even when extra drafts were required. She combines talent and professionalism with warmth and a personal touch. We cannot thank her enough for all of her hard work and highly recommend Celebrations in Paper for any and all of your paper needs!

I would 100% recommend her business and I will be sure to use her for personal or work matters moving forward. Thank you Rene.

Everything in the shop was curated to perfection and anyone/ everyone can definitely find something they may like. The owner and their staff seem to really love what they do and want to bring joy to the community. If you love cute stuff and getting into your crafty/ journaling era, definitely check out Kinkan.

The guy working was incredibly helpful and friendly, and it made the trip totally worth it. Unfortunately, my visit today was the complete opposite. The girl working seemed more focused on arguing about whether I saw the email screen for points than actually helping. It felt unnecessary, especially since the screen I saw was about receipt options, not rewards. Whether it was a misunderstanding or not, the interaction came across as dismissive and unhelpful. I ended up saying "never mind" and leaving, it wasn't worth it to argue. Bad vibes and it didn't seem like she cared. The difference between the two visits was night and day. Otherwise it's still a cute shop, especially if you're closer, but I won't be going out of my way to come back after that. I'll stick to shopping online or at other stationery stores.

I got a journal and some cool sticky notes for my first friend and books for my other friends. The prices are okay. A little high, but i feel like that's pretty standard for fun and interesting paper these days. I mean, it's almost a pure luxury, since so much of what we do is digital now. I like that they have a clearance table, and they have a few fun little toys and candies too. Their selection of individual cards was quite nice, and the whole vibe of the store was inviting and comfortable. The place was clean, well lit, vibrantly colored, and the young woman who rung up my purchase was friendly and polite. I spent about $80 on two books, one fancy sticky note pad, one ultra fancy card, and a clearance journal. So... more than I intended to spend today, but since they were all gifts, it felt easier to justify. I also found out Paper Source is connected to (owned by? part of?) Barnes and Noble, which I hadn't realized before. Anyway, or was a fun shop and I'd stop in again if I need a gift. I'm not sure I'd come here for myself unless I had a very specific need for some high end artistic paper. They had some really gorgeous options that I just had no ideas for how to use right now.

As soon as I found the website for Be in Love, I looked no further. I could tell their aesthetic was pleasing and I'd be sure to find something I liked! We worked with Erin and her team on the Save the Dates, Invites, Reception Materials, and Thank You Cards. They were always timely and professional. Even in meetings, when my fiancé and I didn't always see eye to eye, Erin was always patient with us. She also offered helpful recommendations on colors, patterns, as well as best practices on timelines. Initially I thought we'd create our own invite with her expertise, but given we were in a bit of a time crunch, we just went with one of her templates. It ended up looking great and I was pleased with the outcome. We got engaged in November and our wedding was in June. If I had more time, I would have loved to create our own template, which I'm sure takes more time/meetings. We had an initial meeting to discuss Save the Date, and a separate meeting to discuss the invitations. We also had a third meeting because we were doing some reception materials (cake flavors, bar menu, welcome sign, etc) through them as well. Aside from the meetings, everything is pretty much all done via email where you are emailing what you need, adjustments to patterns, colors, guest list, etc. It does get to the point where you have a massive email chain with multiple emails, which makes it difficult to see what you sent and when-- and that's just how I feel, I can't imagine how it feels for them having so many emails from different clients. So it would be helpful if they got some type of messaging system in place as opposed to just emailing. I'm not sure how that could work but I'm sure there is some type of business platform that allows client messages. There were so many emails at one point, that they did miss that my address had changed by the time we did the Thank You cards. Fortunately, I had the email showing where I had asked them to update the address. They owned the mistake and quickly got the updated envelopes printed. Overall, I can't imagine using anyone else for your wedding needs. Definitely recommend!
