This was exceptional. We went on a Friday so that we could enjoy the weekend menu. I ordered this goat dish with plantain and rice that was in a savory dark sauce. It was not only memorable but it was also well plated. My friend ordered the ceviche. It was such a fresh lime and cilantro that I ordered myself a plate too. I'll start by saying that the ambiance left us wondering at the identity of the restaurant... A karaoke stage and loud music being played from a phone over the large speaker on the stage was confusing. You might ask why that was confusing... The music would turn off when there was a call. There was only the hostess to seat, take our order and serve. Needless to say the service was slow. The food was hit and miss, my chicken was dry but the rice, veggies and fry's were good. My wife's steak was leather, she couldn't eat it... and she did try. Not worth the price. When I got up to pay, the hostess used a tax sheet and a piece of paper to figure the taxes manually. She did ask how we enjoyed the food, I tried to not answer, but when pressed for an answer, I just left it at "Good". All in all a very confusing experience. Our experience at this restaurant goes far beyond any restaurant experience I've had in my life. Each of the workers were excited to talk to us and get to know us, and we were excited to get to know them. My cousin will be living in Ecuador soon and they were so kind and excited for her, telling us all about Ecuador. Maria sat down with us to take our order and connect with us. We didn't get the names of the nice man who was playing music, or the cook, but we were able to talk and laugh with them a lot as well. I haven't even mentioned the food yet, which shows how amazing the people and atmosphere were, because the food was THE BEST I'VE HAD. We got the frittatas, and it was the best pork I've had in my life. The awesome man running the music was encouraging people to get up and dance and sing together. I lived in Ecuador and traveled a lot in Peru, so I know what is authentic, and this food is top notch. Everything I've tried has been delicious and there's great portion sizes. When the restaurant first opened, they had some challenges with getting the food out in a timely manner, but if you go when it's not super busy, you get your food without too much wait. Just keep in mind that Latino culture values longer meals and time to relax and eat, and sometimes Latino restaurants are like that. Personally, I love the relaxed vibes and friendliness of this place. I feel transported back to South America each time I go! read more

Papi's is definitely still getting up and going, but that said, I've never walked into a local restaurant and been more taken care of. The love and care there made me feel as though I walked straight into their home. Karaoke was being set up, and I was being dragged right into the family culture to sing and eat. The fried rice was good, but OH MY GOSH their fish soup blew my mind!!! It was a new, bright, and tangy flavor I've never tasted and I would now recommend it to everyone. There are a few kinks that will hopefully get worked out with time being open, but this is a place I hope will last and I will definitely be returning to. read more

I wanted to love this place SOOOO BAD! I lived in Ecuador for almost 2 years so I was super excited when I saw this place was an Ecuadorian fusion with Peruvian food. 1). We got there and the waiter took about 20 mins to take our appetizers order. In appetizer took an additional 10-15 mins to come out. In the process of eating our appetizer, our infant son started choking on a fry. While that is not the restaurants fault, absolutely NO ONE came to see if we were ok. NO! No staff member. We stepped outside to help him settle afterwards and no staff came to see if we needed something. Total lack of concern for customers. Thankfully, I knew what to do and was able to help my son clear the fry. 2). Food came in super sparse from one another by the time our whole table had the food, most of it was cold. Rice was super bland. Food had no flavor. 3). They did not have a lot of things on the menu. Everything I kept trying to order was out. Overall, not a fond experience which is very unfortunate because there is not a lot of Ecuadorian restaurants in Utah so this place could of been a hit. read more

I ordered the chicken salad and passion fruit juice. I'd go back and order both again. The portions were plentiful with lots of flavorful, tender chicken, fresh greens, avocado and tomatoes. This was my first experience with Peruvian food. And let's just say I'm hooked! We ordered take out and then actually went back a few days later and ate in the restaurant. The woman helping us (who I believe may be an owner) remembered what we had ordered for our take our order a few days before. Everybody who helped us was so attentive and so kind. Not to mention the food is absolutely delicious!!!! So many different flavors on one plate. I will definitely be making this part of our regular rotation and would highly recommend it! read more

I was so excited to come and try a restaurant from my country. Unfortunately I was disappointed. The food was okay at best. The fish was good, and some a couple of entrees others got were good. But the encebollado is not to my taste, my appetizer's potato was hard and not fully cooked. The worst part was the service, I am sorry but the young girl needs to be replaced, she made so many faces and super disorganized. There were four to five tables max. We were a party of 9 so I get slow service. But I have worked in restaurants all my life. I hope you guys get it together and have MUCH success.
