Lomo saltado, sushi acevichado maki, fried plantains, sashimi tiradito, & mixed jalea
    Becca M.

What a fun menu! We ordered the all the things that most caught our eye on the menu and we genuinely enjoyed each one. The gentleman who took our order was kind and helpful and our food came out in a timely fashion. Our favorite dish was the mixed jalea- the breading on flavorful and crunchy, there was a delicious variety of seafood on that plate, the creamy ginger dipping sauce was a nice compliment, and the lime marinated red onion tomato salad was delicious. The sashimi tiradito is very acidic which we loved and it has beautiful presentation. The fried plantains were sweet, a little crispy, and cooked to perfection (Also not too oily.) The Lomo saltado had a great smoky flavor. We all enjoyed the sushi as well that came with the same creamy ginger sauce on top. Would definitely return!!

First timer here at this cute place! A restaurant that serves Japanese and Peruvian food?! Loving the fusion! The staff was super friendly and explained the menu real well. We enjoyed the entrees that we ordered: Lomo Soltado, Salmon Batayaki (the salmon comes out on a sizzling platter!) and chicken Katsu was a hit with the picky eater! The sushi was OK - I'll have to try other things on the menu next time we come back!

I wish I had a better experience here, given the positive reviews. The food (Lomo saltado and fettuccine Lomo saltado) were both so painfully greasy and the oil didn't taste fresh. I felt a little unwell after eating because of just how greasy the food was. The portions were also strange. My boyfriend's fettuccine dish was plentiful, but my Lomo saltado was tiny and simply not enough. I was happy they let me sub out French fries with yuca fries (those were yummy, especially dipped in the green sauce), but there were only 4 yuca fries and the moment I saw my food, I was disappointed. Even just visually, it looked awful with so much empty space on the plate. They really were stingy with everything about my dish. For dessert, we shared the sweet cream which is like a Peruvian version of Cuban flan. It was pretty yummy but overpriced and the presentation of it was sad. It was broken down the middle. The service was average. It felt like it was very self-service. You order at the counter, get a buzzer and sit down, and then go get your food at the counter when ready. You also have to clear your own table. Nothing wrong with that, but the business definitely doesn't allocate any staff to check on tables and such. The ambiance was also average. It's super casual and it's in a strip mall. Given the ambiance, service, and quality/quantity of food, I would say this place is overpriced and a bit overhyped.

I've been here 3 times and I ordered something different each time. Every single dish was out of this world!!!! Their flavors are amazing!!! Their servings are generous and reasonably priced. Hands down the best Peruvian restaurant in Utah County. I highly recommend it!

Brighton took care of our order and was very knowledgeable, attentive and polite. The chicken with fries was superb, as was the fettuccini mixture. A must try if your in the area. Be sure and try an Inca Kola.

It looks very lowkey when you walk in but as soon as you see the menu and get your food, I promise you it will leave you satisfied and happy! My family and I are Peruvian and as any Peruvian would know the saying, "porque el Peruano merece comer rico" ("because the Peruvian deserves to eat good"). That being said, we LOVE Peruvian food, not just because we are Peruvian but because IT IS Peruvian food! We decided to give this place a try since their menu looked very appealing. It a restaurant that has fixed two very delicious cuisines together (I'm a huge lover of sushi and Japanese food in General). We got the Lomo Saltado, Fettuccine Stir Fry, and the Jalea. Everything was 5/5 stars and the employees were very kind and had smiles the whole time while the cooked the food! I will definitely be making this a regular stop

Stunningly delicious. I may have a new favorite restaurant and certainly was not expecting it. The sauces are so good, the meat delicious, the fries fresh. Everything was quality and made to order, we will be coming back FOR SURE. Both variations of Lomo are worth a try - make sure to have some of their green dressing, it's killer.

Do you want really amazing food? This is probably one of the best, if not the best, place to eat in Utah. I'm from the Northeast. I frequented CT, NY, and MA frequently as a foodie and have been so disappointed with the food in Utah. But this place, completely blew my mind. It's top tier, innovative and new. My husband is Peruvian and we both are huge fans of Asian, specifically Japanese cuisine. I was a little apprehensive at first, but it really is the perfect balance. I absolutely love the fettuccine and the sashimi. The fish is really fresh in the sashimi and sushi. My husband and I have easily dropped $70+ for multiple dishes that could feed more than just the two of us, simply because we love it. If anything, they are so cheap for the food they provide. Will go and recommend always!

    Chupe de Camaron Soup

Literally the most savory delicious plate i've eaten in a long time. The price was extremely fair for the amount of soup I got and how delicious it was. All the employees were so kind and welcoming. This has become one of my favorite places!

Excellent work. Gourmet food in Orem.Looking forward to returning soon. All handcrafted in the moment. Small menu that they are able to keep ingredients fresh & crisp. Great selection looking forward to their summer ceviche plate:

I've gone to a few Peruvian Resturant's, mainly to reminisce the two years I spent living in Peru, that said this place had me coming back to try everything on the menu! Food is fantastic and reasonable priced and the sauces they have are some of the best I've had anywhere!

Beware of this restaurant, extremely dishonest management…read more The management at this location deserves zero stars. If you are using a coupon, be prepared to be misled and treated poorly. We used a Starving Student coupon before at the Provo location without any issues. This time, we used the same coupon at the Orem location. The deal clearly states Buy 1 entrée, get 1 free (saving $17.99), as shown in the screenshots. We ordered two half-chicken entrées. The cashier scanned the coupon, charged us, and told us the wait time would be about 20 minutes. At no point were we told there were any restrictions. After waiting 20 minutes, the cashier brought out the food and then informed us that "the boss's mom said" that because we used a coupon, we were only allowed ¼ chicken, not half. This was never disclosed when we ordered, and directly contradicts both the coupon and our previous experience at the Provo location. We were told this was a "new rule." This is misleading, dishonest, and false advertising. I asked to speak directly with the boss's mom, but she refused to come out and instead hid in the kitchen, sending the employee to act as a mediator. We were then told she "doesn't speak English." Ironically, my husband speaks Spanish and suddenly she was "too busy" to speak to us at all. This is an unacceptable way to treat customers. The cashier at the front was the only helpful and professional person there. She even disagreed with the situation, but could not approve a refund without a manager. She had to call twice before we finally received our refund. Bottom line: If you don't want to honor a deal, don't offer it. This is false advertising and completely unethical. Hiding in the kitchen instead of addressing customers is unprofessional and embarrassing for a business. This restaurant should either honor the Starving Student deal as advertised or remove it entirely. I'm posting this so others don't go through the same experience. I will not support a business that operates like this. This review will also be sent directly to the restaurant's management team and to Starving Student's management.

For food, the calmari frita it was called but it was squid, some kind of white fish, shrimp along with fried, thinly sliced red onion, bell pepper and jalapeño. GET THIS, one of the best things of the night! When you do get it, make sure you get bites of the chopped veggie mixture that's buried under all the fried goodness, thank me later. Main course, we got the Parillada de Buenos Aires, this is where the issues start, our waiter said we were able to sub out a couple of the items on platter as tripe and sweetbreads (the glands of a veal if you weren't aware) are not things we enjoy. So we swapped them out for a chicken milenesa and a grilled chicken breast. It also came with 1 each of the sides that were pretty basic, and honestly lacked flavor in comparison (rice, potato salad, house salad, mashed potatoes and roasted veggies). Then the meats it comes with, a half chicken, a 12 oz skirt steak, 4 short ribs, some other grilled cut of meat (menu doesn't specify what kind) and a variety of sausages. The waiter, through super nice, totally messed up the substitutions. He brought them out but from the time ordered to the time we ate was about an hour, and for the correct food to come out took even longer. The food itself was pretty good, meats had great flavor and the milenesa when it came out was hot and juicy. The meats didn't need any dipping sauce because they were that well seasoned. Dessert we had the lemon "cheesecake" which was just a lemon cake with a cream cheese type frosting, not at all what you think of with a cheesecake.

The rice itself had great seasoning and a really nice flavor. However, the dish was a bit disappointing because it was almost entirely rice--the chicken was practically nonexistent. For a dish like this, you expect a better balance of ingredients, and unfortunately the main protein was missing. Sadly, this made the overall experience not the best, especially considering the positive recommendations I had heard before visiting.
