    Salami on a baguette

What a gem! Little cozy spot... Reasonable prices, flavorful entrees and fare with great service. Everything was so fresh! Come early, they tend to run out of items, they are that good! We came hungry and left satisfied. -Cappuccinos tasty -sandwiches filling. I ordered the salami, yum! It didn't taste salty, bonus! My husband ordered the chicken sandwich, he was satisfied. Both were great choices. The bread was so fresh! They do have a meal deal: sandwich, chips and drink. -spanakopita!!! Omg! It was honesty the best I ever had! Large portions though... oh well, more for me! If we are ever back in the area, we would definitely return.

This place is so yummy!!! It's a very small, cost spot with around 10 tables... we came for a late breakfast around 12pm so it wasn't that full we only had to wait around 10 mins to sit. We ordered egg Benedict's and the waffle with strawberries and bacon. Both were spectacular!! The egg Benedicts were hot, and juicy. The yolk was runny and the bacon was so crispy! It was amazing! The sauce on top was so perfect, it had some pepper on top that really hit the spot. The waffles were crispy, which I love, there was a generous amount of bacon and strawberries. All around amazing breakfast we didn't leave one thing on our plate. The prices are fair and the service was perfect. I loved the cute cosy spot!! Must try!!

This is one of our favourite brunch spots in Edinburgh. Papii is located less than a 5 minute walk from Princes Street. It's fairly small inside so you'll need to head there early or be ready to wait (it's worth it!). They have a good menu (displayed artistically on the wall), with both breakfast and lunch items but you need to get the waffles! They are THE best! Price wise, you're talking £7/£8 pp which is really good value for money. Bacon & Maple Syrup OR Strawberries & Maple Syrup. Perfection. Oh good. Another great eggs benny place. My waistline really needed that one... Edinburgh, would you quit it with the amazing brunch options? No. Don't. Please don't. Yet another wonderful Elite suggested find, this time courtesy of the lovely Caz H. This tiny little place packs a surprising punch. It's all of six tables - which you will acutely feel on the weekend while you table scavenge with the ten other people looking to feed themselves. Expect to be squeezed in, table poached or on the rare occasion, exiled to the outside seats if you venture here on a weekend. Why? Because you've made an excellent decision - they serve up a delightful breakfast. All. Freaking. Day. Because i'm addicted, I had to go with a benny option, though the waffles here look pretty killer as well. Opted for a Eggs Royale (smoked salmon benny) and it was darn tasty. Alongside not one, but two coffees (you know it's good when this rare coffee consumer orders a second), it was a lovely little brunch for a decent price. I had been in here once previously for a smoothie. Honestly, they aren't my favourite but I come from the land of smack-you-in-the-face-green-health-smoothies, so it was just too sweet for my likely. That being said, in the city, they're second only to Hula in this category. If you are a far less picky guy/gal and like a sweet fruit drink - this is likely a good option. All in all, another lovely little find for my Sunday afternoons. Thanks Caz!

Traveling from the states and was looking for a breakfast spot close to our hotel. This one caught my eye walking by so I decided to stop in. Small and cozy inside with few tables but it was not crowded around 09:00. Staff was friendly and helpful making me feel comfortable and welcomed. I ordered the eggs royal and an Cafe Americano. The quality and flavor of everything was excellent. I will definitely recommend stopping by for a quick delicious meal.

I am on a quest in Edinburgh to find the best scones around. The sheer size of the scones at Papii is exactly what drew me in. Overall, this was a decent scone. Decent price, came with a huge serving of clotted cream and jam. On a side note, highly recommend the iced tea for those rare Scottish summer days.

I love this place. It has a cozy feel, and the best smoothies I've had yet in Edinburgh. The sandwiches are delicious AND they have nutella croissants... Can't get much better than that. No wifi. Pretty quiet. Great and friendly staff.

Fresh cut strawberry and maple waffles, delicious!

Fabulous place for a nice and quiet breakfast that will assure you a great morning start. They master the capucccino and flat white. People taking care of the business are wonderful and will see that you get whatever you need. I stayed 3 days in Edinburgh on August and I had 3 lovely breakfast in this place. If you are around new town, don't miss it!

I am a member of a flight crew and as I was eating dinner I was asked to get catering for a flight literally the next morning. I asked the manager if he could make me some take away (to-go) steaks cooked rare to be cooked further on the plane. (I'm a private flight attendant and we cook and plate everything onboard). He went out of his way to make sure I recieved all the items cooked perfectly. Passengers left raving about the food!!! And these are passengers that definitely eat the best steaks. The manager even talked me through a playing game plan and I ran my thoughts of the dishes with him and wow, perfect outcome. I personally got the coley fish dish and started with some cheese. I am a big bleu cheese/stilton girl and it was all amazing. Everything was so good I used the bread from my cheese to mop up every ounce of juice left from coley plate. Great service, great views, and incredible food. All local and ever changing menu to fit what's in market. You'll see handwritten additions to each menu like the cheese and fish. The steaks were the 35 day dry hung flat iron steaks.

Ambiance was super cute and upstairs even cuter I think (we were seated downstairs) and service was excellent. - Afternoon tea - 5/5 and I've been to had 50 or more high teas in my life in places such as London, Hong Kong, NYC, San Francisco, Honolulu... What was great about this high teas was the unlimited tea and coffee and they had many dairy milk alternatives: soy, oat, almond which is very unusual and appreciated! I had: - iced vanilla turmeric lychee matcha - 5/5 so delicious! And so unusual! - The Ivy English breakfast tea - 4/5 solid tea offering - truffle chicken salad sandwich on small roll - 5/5 - egg salad on wheat bread - 5/5 - smoked salmon on cream cheese on top of pastry puff pastry - gave this to my husband who downed it in a second so must have been good! - two raisin scones - 5/5 delicious! With clotted cream and strawberry jam - lemon poppyseed muffin - 4/5, husband ate it, was a little too sweet for me but super cute with bee on top - raspberry crème brulee - 4/5, solid offering - chocolate mousse in a pot - 5/5 super adorable presentation of the dessert in a little flower pot with chocolate cookie crumble "dirt" and mint leaves as the "plant" I almost didn't want to eat it! For all of this the price was very reasonable and my husband who does not appreciate high teas could order his beer and some smoked salmon off the à la carte menu. I said for the size of our group can we get the other tables towards the back. There were other tables available and all right behind us. The hostess said no absolutely not guests were to be assigned to their tables. There were people behind us but they were after us; plus they were of smaller size than ours, clearly our skin color is the main issue. They sat us down, and quite a few minutes pass, others trickle in and promptly everyone bumps into me. At which point I told the hostess this is not acceptable. They sat 2 people at a table for 4, in the back while this table of 4 is really too small for 4 people. One thing stood out to me, we were the only non whites. When the last group again bumped into me, I asked to be moved; she then said due to short of staff they cannot change the seating but seeing seriously everyone is bumping into me, she begrudgingly moved us to a corner table with no lights - and not surprisingly no service. I understand the importance of trying to make the white people feel comfortable about not being seen with non whites - the best way is tuck the non whites away - but this is 2022. I am from California and no, this is absolutely unacceptable. Like MLK junior or Rosa Parks, we protected, first by requesting to be moved away from the hallway, then by my two teens and I walking out of the restaurant and finding more tolerant non racist restaurant to eat, and we spent a lot of money on the other restaurant. You too can make a decision to either eat or not eat at this place. The choice is entirely up to you. And this will define who you are.
