She absolutely loves it here and I cannot blame her why lol! The service is amazing! We only stop in and grab food to go here once or twice a year, but the food is always very tasty and we get enough to eat on for two days. We stick with the basic Gyros and usually get the Caprice salads and fries. On this visit, we decided to get two Caprice salads along with the Gyros. Everything was very good. There was no wait when we arrived and the service was good. The atmosphere, as we sat and waited for our food to take home, was peaceful and kind of laid back. Fresh food & friendly service! The food was delicious, and everything tasted fresh and delicious. I felt they were generous with the salad and fries. The plates were definitely bigger than I anticipated. The restaurant itself was clean, and had walls painted that looked like Greece. Which was nice, because my toddler had something to keep them entertained while we ate. They also offered White or Wheat Pita, which is something to note, if you have a preference. Crappy food and same with their customer service skills..there is a McDonald's that I go to that has much better food and customer service. The gyros meat was burnt only a few peices that I was able to eat. The tomatoes were not ripe, and it had a huge amount of white onions on it that I cannot eat. Fries were okay, but the more I ate they tasted like the grease in their fryer is old. Nasty and expensive mistake I will not make again!!! read more

My husband surprised me by stopping by to grab lunch here after running our errands. It was a breath of fresh air trying something we don't usually eat so I'm glad we did because the food here was amazing! I'm asking myself why we'd never tried this place before. Yum! Everything made was so fresh and the mixture of Mediterranean spices filled my mouth with so many different spices and flavors it definitely is calling me back for more. I ordered the lunch special with chicken gyro, Greek salad and couscous. I enjoyed every bit of it. Meat was tender, salad was fresh, couscous was healthy and tasty. My husband had a gyro with spicy corn, which he loved! The service was fast and ambiance was casual. The place was busy but very quiet, surprisingly for as many people as there were in there. The beautiful painting made me feel like I was somewhere far away, they even had Greek music to go with it. I did notice no one there had kids with them, nonetheless I'll have to bring my own to make them try all the delicious flavors I just had. Our delivery driver was great. But I ordered FOUR baklavas. When the order was dropped off I had zero. I called they said they're sorry and that they only have two but they will set aside the desert for our delivery driver to come back and get. Bless his heart. Then the driver calls me to tell me that they only have 1 now.... Came with a lot of what appeared to be fresh cut fries. Only real gripe is it too so long to get my meal. I have things to do. It was a choice between here and Chick -il-a and here. Should have got the chickin. Ok, after giving Papouli's a second chance I figure I key had a bad first experience. I'm amending my rating to a 5. Great food this time and a lot quicker. We stopped here for the first time. Everything we had was excellent!, especially the spicy Greek corn!

It wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. Decent meat. The tzatziki sauce was bland. The fries greasy and bland.

I came and all I wanted was a regular hand carved lamb gyro with sauce, tomatoes, onions and lettuce. The lady at the register (Stephanie), with bad customer service skills, presented me with all kinds of confusing options: some lamb beef combo, all lamb, etc the how did I want my lamb cooked: rare, med, med well etc. I only wanted the sandwich and she said I had to get a side because it was the same price. I paid for my food and waited 15 min to only receive lamb kabobs in a white pita w/side fruit. I took the food back and said that I just wanted a sliced lamb gyro and that was not what I received. She tried to get loud with me and say that she explained the all the options to me, which she did but want she didn't explain was that not all of the options were carved meat, lol. In all the different places that I've ordered a gyro, it has never been this difficult to order one. To avoid any more confusion, I just ordered another order and put it into simple terms so she could understand. I paid for the another order instead of arguing back and forth. The right thing to do was just take my order back and remake what I (the customer wanted). She had no issues charging me for another order. Until she gets some proper customer service skills, I think she needs to be working in another area, not the person up front dealing with customers. The new gyro I ordered was correct and good, however due to this experience, I'm probably just going to stick with wild wing station on Wazlem rd for gyros. I posted a pic of both gyros. read more

Just had a horrible experience, while ordering felt the man who I later found out was the manager was short and unhelpful. Which I just brushed off as him having other things going on. Though I get my food and as you can see there is quite literally no hummus(paid extra 2 bucks for) or veggies or at least not an amount I would think would qualify as a portion. Though tons of falafel which is to an extent a plus if there was anything else in the wrap. So I quite politely went up said hey " I'm not trying to be difficult and showed him the wrap and said I have barely any hummus and he just looks at me and goes that's the normal amount. I kinda gave a pause and said really? Then he was like I can get you more veggies and I was like cool. So he brings a tiny cup of veggies but puts cheese in it which I had specifically asked not for. When I went back up he is giggling and rolls his eyes to the other co workers. I really don't like feeling like an imposition but at this point im done. I tell him about the cheese and he hits me with a "it's is what it is I'm tryin to fix it" trying to fix it is show me the amount of hummus in a ramekin and say that the veggies are pre mixed. I had to pick up a cake nearby and it was l Iunchtime so I figured I better pick up some food as I was unable to cook. I wanted thai but the place was closed boo so I decided to get greek. I had eaten real bad night before so I figured falafel would be better so I got that w a greek salad. Once back at my hosts place I dug in but honestly found the falafel to be bland. A great spot to grab lunch! Me and hubby wanted to grab something to eat while out running errands and settled on this place. When you walk in you place your order at the counter then seat yourself. There weren't many open/cleaned tables when we went so more staff is probably needed to keep up but it wasn't a big deal. I ordered the lunch special which came with a small gyro, salad, and fries. I loved that you could choose different sandwhich options and styles. I went with the Greco roman style with peppers and taziki sauce and it was delicious! The Greek salad was also very delicious and tasted fresh. The downside was the fries for me since they were not crispy and just oily. It was dark and dingy with expensive food of poor quality. And of course, it took forever to come out. I got the lamb gyro and a sirloin skewer w/ fries which cost $21. The fries were limp and bland, I had to bake and salt when i got home. The meat was tough and dry, i took it and chopped up the meat to make it more chewable and still rather unpleasant, even the veggie were awful. First time there and it definitely will be my last. The North Star mall has better gyro and it's low quality processed meat, but still a better experience than here. Very sad and ready shocked at how bad this was. read more

I would say some of the best Greek food in the San Antonio area. The hand-carved gyros are top notch and so is the falafel. The vegetables and produce seem freshly and the meze sampler platter is definitely the best if you're trying to get to know some of these food items for the first time. We also like the baklava. Classic Gyro was thrown together very sloppy. Almost no veggies and meat appears microwaved. There was some guy in a light purple hoodie and black har walking around cleaning tables extremely rude. He was spraying cleaner next to peoples table and slamming dishes very loud. He was wearing ear phones perhaps listening to music but had a sour look on his face being disrespectful to customers. Upon walking in, seating is limited but the restaurant is clean and smells of home cooked food! You line up to the far left and the menu is on the wall in front.
