    Gyro Greek Fries Plate
    Jack S.

Came in at midday on a weekday, so it was pretty vacant. Service was nice and fast, my food ended up coming out before I could finish filling my drink. The fries were crispy and the gyro was sliced ultra thin to my surprise, which I ended up preferring to a more traditional slice. And the white sauce on top was the refreshing thing to round out the meal. The restaurant's atmosphere was nice and quiet enough to enjoy reading while eating. Will be coming back again!

The food.. indeed delicious, I picked up some food for my coworkers and I ordered beef gyro with a salad for myself.. very tasty and ingredients all seem fresh. Service is a bit slow but nothing major to impact the rating. Definitely will add to rotation.

Stopped in here after a Dental appointment UT. It was definitely worth the trip. I wanted something different for dinner. This place wasn't far from my appointment location. The service was quick, Everyone behind the counter was courteous. I didn't stay and eat, got it to-go but everything looked and smelled clean and tidy in the restaurant. I will definitely visit again. I ate my food for dinner and it was delicious, I really enjoyed the pita and hummus. The gyro meat was well-seasoned and juicy and the salad was flavorful - generous portions.

Fresh, tasty, casual, and reasonable Greek food! Somehow it caught my eye driving on busy Potranco, looked it up on YELP, was happy to see awesome reviews, flagged it, and made it in for dinner yesterday. Counter and grill has a large picture menu posted above it. We ordered the gyro plate, gyro salad, and baba ghanoush. I'm a huge lover of baba ghanoush and always lookin for a top star. The food, in their menu restaurant themed compostable containers, looked delicious and so fresh. My salad had freshly cut sliced cucumbers and tomatoes, olives, nice greens (none of that cheap packaged iceberg lettuce), onions, lite Greek dressing, feta on the side, and a good amount of juicy sliced gyro meat topped with tzatziki. Nom, nom. The baba ghanoush was fab as well, I could taste the roasted cooked eggplants and it came with warm sliced pita bread. Sooo good. The gyro plate was yummy- it came with rice, Greek salad, pita bread, hummus, and gyro meat. We ate all lol Definitely will revisit again soon! Military discount offered with pic ID Located in a strip mall. Parking was plentiful. Seating available inside.

I'm currently pregnant and I don't know if I was just extra hungry that day, but my first bite of the chicken bowl was *magical*. We took our food to go and it was still steaming hot when we got home 10 minutes later. The food would have been prepared faster, but they were making a batch of fresh fries and I'm not going to complain about fresh fries. The food was absolutely delicious. For me, the highlight of the plate was the hummus. Very fresh and tasty. My husband really enjoyed his gryro and also said he's going to make this a regular spot. I will definitely be coming back here to get a quick lunch.

Super generous portions. #1 Gyro and Greek fries were so damn good. The pita bread - amazing, tzatziki dressing - amazing. Lamb - amazing. Man those Greek fries though. Highly recommend this place.

First time here and the service was really great. Food came out fast and the salad was fresh. We ordered 2 Beef bowls and 5 falafels. The beef bowl was good and reasonable priced. The beef bowl was came with rice, salad, hummus, pita bread, and beef. The rice and beef was a bit under seasoned but with the hummus and feta cheese from the salad... it was good. The falafel was made fresh but it was under seasoned and the pickle veggies that came with the falafel were super salty. When you enter you order at the counter. If you dine there, the staff will bring your food to your table. There are a few tables against the wall. Drink station is in the back. Do we recommend Stop-N-Go Gyros? Yes affordable healthy food. Service is fast.

Great service and great food. I enjoyed the gyro and the fresh toppings. The hummus and tzatziki sauce goes a long way, definitely need more of that! I didn't like that they didn't give me fresh fries. The fries were sitting there for a while before I came in and they were cold, not crispy. I liked the baklava, it was sweet and I like the flaky crust. It isn't very appealing to sit dine in. When I went there was nobody there. It seems like a lot of people usually just do pick-up here.

We came to try this place out. We liked eating at Demos and thought this would be a nice alternative on a different side of town. The food was delicious, soft, and served hot. Everyone got something different: beef gyro, chicken gyro, and your typical long strip gyro (cant name it off the top of my head). There were greek fries that had the cream, cheese that looked like feta and parsley. Everything was made to order and came out hot. There were three people working and one was very helpful. He offered to explain anything on the menu and was very patient with us. When I went up later to order my sons dish, the other person working was a little bit impatient with me as I had a hard time hearing him over the plexy glass and he had a deep accent. The place is nicely kept and it was empty when we arrived until we left. They mainly get a lot of door dash orders as tons of people came in to pick up. I do want to go back go try the other meals they have, salads, hummus, and aba ganoush.

Surprised this place has so much Yelp love extended toward it, as I found it painfully average at best. Gyro meat was on the dry side and sliced very thin. They're not cutting right of the Gyrokone, but slicing the Gyro meat off in advance and making your bowls and plates from meat in a tub- similar to a Chipotle. Meh. Unfortunately, rice was on the drier side too. It wasn't quite like eating a bowl of sand, but the words fresh and delicious certainly aren't jumping into my thoughts. I will say, you get a good portion for your money. So there's that. I was also completely annoyed by the amount of flying bugs that were hanging around me as I ate. Maybe that's a "me" problem. I swear I showered. All in all, not a place to visit again.

I had great hopes for this spot. The photos in Yelp made my mouth water. Unfortunately the taste of the meat was very dry. It was freshly shaved but cut too thin so the meat had no moisture and was very dry. They give you generous amounts and all the ingredients were fresh and tasty except for the gyro meat. I wonder if the holding tank had some moisture in it which would have helped the dryness. The Greek fries were great. I usually don't care for smothered fries but these I would get those again. The people were very nice, the place very clean, a good value for the price....just the dry meat kept it from a higher rating.

Can only speak for take out experience; For 11.99 for a plate, I feel like we got our money's worth; it's a complete meal with pita bread 4 slices, hummus, salad, rice and meat! My in laws even shared a bowl for both of them! I got the Gyro plate and it still tasted good up to the next day from our fridge.

Our twelve guests ranged in age from 14-79 years, and everyone had a wonderful experience. We began with waters for the table, soft drinks, and cocktails/mocktails (Man Walks into a Bar, Amba No. 5, Don Alberto, Green Shug Collins). Due to our large party, we had booked a chef's tasting experience, which was spectacular. The appetizers were plentiful, flavorful, and unique. Our server, Anissa, did a wonderful job of explaining each dish-- its components, highlights, even suggesting that after finishing the beef dumplings, we stir the oil and yogurt together for an amazing pita dipping sauce. Our meal included four meats-- actually five, considering an off menu chef's creation for our pescatarian guest. It was such an immersive experience, I never took out my phone to capture photos of the food (or our group, sadly). Three desserts topped off the evening. When (not if) we return, we'll certainly request Anissa again. She made the evening a complete delight, even bringing out celebratory candles for our honored guests.

Overall, I'd say most of the people in our group probably would not go back, but I don't necessarily think that was because the food was bad or lacking flavor. I think a lot of us just weren't very accustomed to Mediterranean flavor profiles and this style of dining. Most of us really enjoyed the dips, the meats, and the desserts. Those were definitely the standout parts of the meal for our group. Some of the dishes in between were a little more questionable for us personally -- we tried everything, but there wasn't necessarily one specific dish we completely fell in love with. That being said, the experience itself was amazing. The atmosphere was so cool and unlike anything we had done before. Being served course after course and getting to experience so many different dishes made the meal feel really unique and memorable. All of the staff members who waited on us were absolutely fantastic and so understanding of some of our questioning looks while trying unfamiliar foods. Everyone was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and made the experience feel fun and comfortable from start to finish. If you already love Mediterranean food, this place may be right up your alley. I just think it's good to know what kind of flavor profiles to expect before coming, especially if you're newer to this type of cuisine. Overall, we still had a great time there.

The ambiance was great, everything from the decorative rugs, Arab writing on the wall, tagine pottery and brass crafts were perfectly displayed. The tabbouleh salad was very tasty, it had the right amount of ingredients making it pretty as well as colorful placed in the neat brass metal bowl. Now with the things that require immediate remedial attention: 1. The burger was overrated, overcooked and dry. 2. The chick pea salad lacked chick peas, dressing, onions and feta cheese. 3. The lamb Kofta plate was prepared right however, it was not enough meat for the price and the cream sauce tasted like straight butter with a hint of garlic. The pita bread was lukewarm and looked like it had been unwrapped, quartered and thrown in a microwave for 30 seconds prior to serving it. 4. Drinks Ordered: The Cafe' Arabia was very tasty BUT, I didn't get it until we were almost done with our meal. We ordered drinks when we were first seated so that was a big red flag. My wife also ordered the Moroccan mint teapot and she didn't get it until after I got my coffee. I told the barista/waiter to cancel it when I got my coffee but he said it was also ready for us and could put it in a to-go cup for her. That kind of defeated the whole experience of drinking tea while waiting for our meal. 5. The service was really slow. Took over 15 minutes to get our (tap) waters and 20 minutes for our food when we were the only ones in the restaurant until we had placed our order. 6. The waitress needs some serious people skills and bussing training to know how to serve food and drinks. She touched the tops of the glasses her fingers. She didn't greet us and practically dropped the plates on the table when she brought them out. To add insult to injury, she put the handheld pay device on the table without asking us if we wanted or needed anything else. My kids wanted to try out some desserts, so luckily for us, the nearby HEB has plenty to offer. I had high hopes for this place because of what the owner posted on Instagram and it is so close to our neighborhood. Guess we will have to continue driving further into the city to other Mediterranean and Middle-Eastern restaurants that have better food and service.
