Chicken caprice panini

Visited during a bachelorette trip, and this spot was easily the highlight of our visit. I've never had a more delicious panini absolutely incredible. The gentleman at the register was friendly, attentive, and made sure every order was handled perfectly. The service and quality here are truly top tier. I'll definitely be coming back!

THE BEST!! I come here from Orange County. I absolutely love these Panini's. They're so flavorful, a good price and they come out at a timely matter considering they're always packed out busy. Love love love must try!

A Hillcrest Farmer's Market favorite. Always fresh and friendly! We usually order the chicken Panini. You can't go wrong, though.

For my dinner, I had the traditional Boeuf bourguignon with pappardelle pasta. My friends ordered the Steak au Poivre et Frites and Coq au Vin. We also had a great bottle of wine called Lacoste-Borie 2018. The last time I had boeuf bourguigon was about 20 years ago. a rendition of Anthony Bourdain's recipe, but without the pappardelle pasta. Et Voila's version with the pappardelle was outstanding. The freshly made pasta, not only added great texture, but also flavor. It prepared just right, too. The Cabernet sauce was excellent and offered a great depth of flavors. The dish also came with tender carrots, sweet pearl onions, and white mushrooms. All of them were perfect. The beef was rendered down beautifully and had great color and was very tender to the touch. The beef offered exceptional preparation and was an absolute pleasure to eat with the Cabernet sauce. Well done chef. I was treated to a house soufflé which was excellent. It hit all the notes: light, soft, and airy, but packed with flavor. The sauce that came along with it was very good. My friends, who are regulars here, were very pleased with their dishes as well. I have to say, both of their dishes looked amazing. The hospitality at this French Bistro is first rate. All the employees, including the owner, were very amiable and welcoming. They aim to provide an excellent dining experience and that's what they do. This place is perfect for date night, special occasions, or just to simply enjoy a delicious quiet meal.

It was also my husband's birthday so I really wanted it to be special! We got seated as soon as we arrived in a booth! We immediately were greeted by Nancy who by the way was amazing at that time! The food were amazing and delicious we started with Soup à l'oignon which was great then the raviolis aux champignons which was also amazing but we wished that it would be much more warmer... We then followed by steak frites aux poivre, we asked it medium rare not cut and sauce on the side and it was perfect it comes with brocolis and green beans in the side with french fries and ask for ketchup and aïoli which was yummy as well! We wanted to make it a french dinner so we also ordered a chessboard after the main course! We were so glad that we ordered one entrée as we could have not made it to the dessert if we were to do the cheeseboard and dessert as well! After the cheeseboard we ordered the profiteroles for dessert and a Cappuccino! The dinner birthday was a success I do recommend it for people that are looking for an authentic french restaurant! Cons were the ambiance it was a little bit loud and also they weren't giving any complimentary birthday dessert also, the bread at the beginning were delicious but if you want a refill they will charge you for it. We brought a bottle of red wine which was free corkage since we also ordered a bottle of white from their menu. But the corkage fee would be $45! Overall we had a wonderful time! And I highly recommend it for the food!

The space itself is larger than expected with plenty of seating. I chose to sit at the bar, and Ashley, the bartender, was absolutely phenomenal. She was friendly, gave great recommendations, and fun to chat with. I ordered: * Burger Parisienne: this was a massive burger. I ended up taking about a quarter of it home. It was cooked perfectly, but what really made it unique was the Bordelaise sauce poured over the top. * Pommes Frites: some of the best fries I've had - thin cut and extremely crispy. * French Onion Soup: I was told the menu was recently updated and it no longer comes with the pastry top. However, it was still very enjoyable. One thing to note is that although it says on Yelp that dogs are allowed, it's actually service dogs only. Overall, the service was excellent, the food came out quickly (under ten minutes after ordering), and the happy hour is a great deal.

My fiancé told me we were having dinner the two of us, and the hostess played right into the lovely surprise before escorting us to their private room where our friends and family waited for us. We had a few appetizers that's were DELICIOUS - omg I am dreaming about those short rib croquettes. My other absolute favorite was the French onion tart, and the Wagyu tartare was so unique and yummy! Fortunately, the menu is still attractive. It seemed as though the restaurant was having a bad night for several reasons, and I hope they rebound quickly because it is a wonderful place. When we were shown our table on the table, one of the seats was exposed to the light rain falling, but the hostess had left us there so we had to find someone else to seat us elsewhere. One of the servers spotted us searching right away and cheerfully found us a dry table. The 4 of us ordered 1 absinthe, 1 cocktail, 1 bottle of wine, and 4 Gourmet Menu dinners (3 course, fixed price). They were out of the cremant we ordered, and did the proper thing by offering us a different, excellent, sparkling wine (slightly higher price) at the same price as the cremant. Our dinners covered most of the menu choices-- mussels, shrimp, and salad for appetizers; steak, agnolotti, and short ribs for mains; opera cake and 1 each of the two sorbets offered. After a rather lengthy wait for appetizers, our server came to apologize that their mussels were sub-par that evening and asked for alternative orders. One who had ordered them switched to onion tart, the other to shrimp. Disappointing, but I'd rather not be served bad mussels, so well handled again. Three only dish that wasn't delicious we're the substituted shrimpwhich were served in a sauce that leaned heavily on strong, smoky flavors. Although the shrimp themselves were of excellent quality and plentiful, pairing them with the strongly smoky sauce put the dish off balance. All the others were expertly prepared and beautifully plated. Overall, a mixed experience this time, but the shortcomings were handled quite well. At the end, consensus was that we had a very nice evening.

The kitchen clearly knows how to prepare quality dishes, and the food is the reason I'm giving this restaurant 4 stars instead of less. That said, I deducted one star because of the location and overall environment. I chose Kingfisher because I was looking forward to Vietnamese cuisine, but when I arrived, my first impression was disappointing. Right by the entrance there was a strong urine smell, and because the restaurant has an open-air layout, it affected the dining experience. I also found myself concerned about the surrounding neighborhood and the overall setting. For me, a great restaurant is about more than just the food--it's also about feeling comfortable, relaxed, and enjoying the atmosphere. Even if a restaurant serves amazing food, the experience isn't complete if the location makes guests feel uneasy. I understand that Kingfisher has earned Michelin recognition, and the quality of the food certainly shows why. However, I hope the overall dining environment can improve because the talented kitchen deserves a setting that matches the excellent dishes they serve. I would gladly return if this establishment were located in a cleaner, more welcoming area without the homeless encampments nearby.

We had our Appetizer, main course , and dessert but I'm just gonna review what we had for our main entree since my wife already did a full review of what we had here. So I had the Cassoulet, I always enjoyed this dish because it has Variety of meats on it, taste-wise it's the same as the other Cassoulets I had in French restaurants we've been to, just like ordering this because of the Duck, Sausage and Pork Belly. My Son had a Pork Chop and it's a big one, it has a delicious mushroom sauce. My wife had the Duck Confit, the duck has a nice crispy skin and juicy inside, with delicious creamy sauce. It's a very small, but intimate restaurant with only a handful of tables. I would definitely recommend making reservations ahead of time. The intimate vibes are definitely heightened by the dim lighting, which as perfect for a Valentine's Day dinner. Overall the waitstaff was attentive but service was on the slower slide. With such a restricted table count one would hope that they would be a little more prompt getting food out. I didn't mind too much since I had the most wonderful company, but with the pace of service we were there for quite a while. It was a celebration so cocktails were in order. My girlfriend got a Kir Royale and I opted for The Saint. Both cocktails subscribed to the less is more philosophy of mixology and were thoroughly enjoyed. No smokes in mirrors needed, just crisp, refreshing and deliciously clean flavors. Now for the food. 1.) We decided on Escargot as our appetizer and they offered very balanced yet rich, garlicky, buttery flavors with some nice texture contrast provided by the puff pastry. This was definitely a 4/5 dish for me. Though it was delicious we did find ourselves wishing for a little more crisp coming from the pastry. 2.) I chose the Confit de Canard for my main. It was my favorite dish of the evening. The duck was perfectly cooked and full of that rich flavor one expects. The brussel sprouts were nicely cooked and made for a fine side dish. I did find that the mustard cream sauce its served with was unnecessary and in my opinion created a sort of disconnect in the dish. I think I would've preferred something a little more subtle to pair with duck so that it would supplement the dish. Instead I felt like the flavors were competing, which may be a positive to some, but I found I could've gone without it. 3.) My girlfriend went with the Cote de Porc and did not enjoy her dish as much as the rest of our meal. I tasted a bit of it and it seemed like the pork got a bit lost between the mushroom cream sauce and the potato gratin. The gratin itself was my favorite component from her dish. All in all we were treated to a good dinner here at La Bonne Table. It's a relatively small table and small restaurant so its something I'd be open to trying in another occasion, for another celebration, but it's not a place I think I would come to with a higher frequency. Overall it was a 4/5 dining experience.

This place exceeded every one of them. Nestled in a quiet residential neighborhood, Wolf in the Woods feels like a hidden European café you'd stumble upon while traveling. Sitting outside beneath the umbrellas with a cocktail, watching the neighborhood stroll by. It felt like a little corner cafe in Paris. Then the food arrived. Every plate was beautifully presented, but the real magic was in the creativity of the flavors. The combinations were unexpected, yet every one worked. Every dish had me wondering how on earth someone came up with these pairings in the first place. The Sweet Corn & Piñon Soup deserves a standing ovation. We literally stopped talking after the first spoonful. Rich, savory, slightly sweet, comforting and completely unexpected all at the same time. Both of our eyes rolled back in our heads. The Beef Tataki completely surprised me. The outside had a delicate seared crust, the inside cut like butter, and the citrus pairing made me rethink what flavors belong together. And the mushroom and polenta dish? The mushrooms had an incredible texture--like savory little pieces of mushroom jerky. I would have happily bought a pound of them just to snack on. Every dish felt like it was taking me somewhere I'd never been before, yet somehow felt familiar at the same time. Wolf in the Woods creates an unforgettable experience.
