    Affogato

Saw this restaurant listed in Orlando's Magical Dining and wanted to try it. The inside was bustling and lively, and a bit on the louder side. The food comes out decently fast, but our server only came by a few times to check on us due to the amount of other tables they were serving. For their Magical Dining menu, I went with the Burrata with Crostini appetizer, Rigatoni alla Vodka & Stracciatella entrée, and Affogato dessert. I especially enjoyed the rigatoni; the sauce was great and perfectly creamy. I do want to mention that there is some inconsistency with the amount of sauce given for the same pasta plates, as my friend who also ordered the rigatoni had a drier, less sauced version that came out a while before mine did. This also happened to other people at my table who ordered the Chicken Parmigiana Tradizionale; plates came at different times and one was way more sauced than the other. Overall, I enjoyed my meal and my table had a pretty good time despite the crowdedness and inconsistency. I'd say it's worth a try, especially during Magical Dining.

We had a lovely dinner here! It's very unassuming from the outside but the inside is so cute and nice. It's not stuffy but feels nice. Our service was fantastic and the food was excellent. We had the meatball appetizer and the bread that came with it was amazing. It's homemade there and had butter or olive oil on it. My husband had the cheese pizza and said it was perfection. The dough is fermented for days and it shows in how good the crust is. I had the chicken parm and it was amazing. The cheese was so good and the portion was huge - I turned it into three meals with leftovers. This is a great stop in Orlando!

This was a huge surprise find just scrolling Yelp! Was looking for a little more "grown-up" pizza out of the park stuff and WOW. The setting and food here is a real fine dining experience like you'd find in a much bigger city setup. So much attention to detail and quality! The menu is over flowing with amazing options. Everything we tried was super fresh and decadent. So much more than pizza, but the pizza is fantastic, and the dining experience here is way nicer of a meal than a typical pizza place. Super short drive from Universal park hotels.

This is really a fun dinner experience. The ambience was very lively and classy. We had a party of about six people. The staff and manager were all very friendly and very helpful. Check in on us in a timely manner. Attentive enough and friendly enough. Thank you! Food was delicious. Ordered the pappardelle with bolognese and the chicken Parmesan with spaghetti. We ordered multiple drinks and a few bottles of wine and everything was what we were hoping for. My colleague had the tiramisu martini and she said it was absolutely divine. Definitely a place I would recommend whenever you're in Orlando. Dessert- Personally thought the white chocolate cookie butter pie was too much - too sweet and not a stand out dessert. Tiramisu was also a miss. Limoncello spritzer was ok. Two bottle of Sauvignon blanc were good. We ordered the prosciutto appetizer . They used the machine to slice and cut the prosciutto table side. I enjoyed the theatrics. I thought it was really good. Aged 30 Months prosciutto. They had a plate that was covered in caramel sauce on the bottom then they scooped two scoops of vanilla ice cream and then poured the espresso on top. Yummy

This place is nice. They greet you instantly. Service is fast. The pizza was amazing. The pasta wasn't fully cooked I tried to eat it. Was charged for it with a discount.

Food: I won't say that this isn't Italian as the country has many regions who all take different liberties on the way they make dishes. This chef's take on Italian is not what I prefer. Sauces were thin, dishes seemed to be under seasoned, and pasta overcooked. Burrata appetizer was underwhelming with prosciutto that seemed to be out of a package I can buy at a grocery store, too thin and didn't taste like the prosciutto I prefer. Lasagna bolognese left a lot to be desired. Large piece but they seemed to rely on a thick layer of melted cheese to mask the under seasoned sauce. The cannoli dessert left me wishing I had ordered another option. Both creams were lukewarm which indicated to me that these are plated and left to sit outside of refrigeration. The amount of filling was one dollop on either end of the cannolo, with the center left empty. For drinks, I ordered a Coca Cola, which comes in a can. This just makes me feel as if the owners are wanting to nickel and dime its customers out of refills. Food overall was very unimpressive for the price point this restaurant sits at. Service: Our Waiter Raul was doing the best he could. He seemed to have half of the restaurant as his section, and was stretched thin leaving him unable to check in as much as he would have liked. I don't think it was a staffing issue as there are a ton of staff and management running around the restaurant, but that's all they are doing. Running around the restaurant. Food comes to the table in a very unorganized manner, and after plates are sitting on a bar top from the kitchen with no warming lights to at least maintain some sense of freshness. Staff grab plates at random from the bar, and seem to hope for the best from there. Raul took our appetizer, entree, and dessert orders separately through the service which at least allowed us to not feel rushed by having our next course showing up right as we got the previous course. Had he not done that, it would have been overwhelming and felt rushed. Despite that, we still felt rushed. At no point did a member of management do a table touch and see how things were presented or tasting. Rather, the owner Victor, loomed over every table that looked like they were nearing completion seemingly forcing customers out so that he could rush his team into seating another one of the overbooked reservations. This rush clearly carries itself over into the kitchen, as numerous times I saw dishes set out to be delivered with no one ready, and glassware being set on tables with the remnants of the previous customers lipstick still on the rim. The owner Victor is causing a tense atmosphere that is apparent while looking at the staff working in the restaurant, as no one would make eye contact with him and seemed visibly annoyed when he would step foot towards a table. Consistently through the service, Victor would point noticeably at tables with customers still eating to the point that patrons would notice and begin to feel uncomfortable. The only exception to this was for parties that he made it very obvious he knew. They would get warm greetings and hugs, and multiple check ins between grilling his staff in the middle of the dining room. Victor himself, made me select a 1 star for this review for service. And his attitude and demeanor lent to the 1 star review for atmosphere. Atmosphere: What starts as a visually appealing interior, reveals an attempt at squeezing every possibly penny out of the space. Tables are uncomfortably close, causing customers to feel on top of each other, and staff having to constantly bump and squeeze around each other and customers to serve tables. There is no room for a customer with a wheelchair or mobility device to comfortably maneuver into, among, and out of this establishment. If someone isn't friendly and you are in a wheelchair or use a mobility device, you can't get in. Chairs are rock hard, and it is so loud inside, you can't hear your server or others in your party. I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone.

This was our first time at Papparella Trattoria, but it most definitely will not be our last. The service was excellent as well as the food. The restaurant was very busy and is a smaller space, so it did feel quite crowded. I would definitely suggest a reservation ahead of time. We started with two appetizers, the Italian bread and the Pappa's Burrata. My only critique is the amount of pesto on the burrata was quite a bit and therefore it was a little overbearing. We ordered two entrees to share. The Rigatoni Alla Vodka and the Martina's Risotto. We went specifically for the risotto. It's rare that I can find my three favorite things in one dish, filet, truffle, and a well cooked risotto. Not only did I find it here, but I found it done remarkably well. If you're in the Orlando area and are looking for very good Italian, I would suggest giving this restaurant a try. There are several dishes we still want to try, so we will be back.

A decent Italian restaurant on the food but with no service. When you got into the restaurant, you would find the restaurant is actually is warmer than that outside. I always pay attention to the restroom in a restaurant, one of the employee came out and did not wash her hand. This is BIG NO No in restaurant business. My server came checked on us once during the 2 hours meal, they are charging high end pricing with no services.

We had a reservation for 7 pm on a Saturday (I highly recommend having one because the restaurant was packed). Despite having a reservation we were not seated until almost 7:30. I didn't appreciate that our table was really for 6 people and they squished our party of 7 plus a baby there. Our waiter was ok, but the wait staff who brought the food definitely needs better training, not professional at all. There was also a man (likely a manager of some kind) who was running around yelling to try and seat people, very off putting. The saving grace for this place was the food, which was excellent! Large portions but honestly overpriced considering everything.

I am not a restaurant or food critic, but I do work in customer service, so I have a critical eye for these things. I also want to point out that this place is Brazilian-owned and seems to be a Brazilian take on Italian food. I was invited to a casual birthday dinner on a Saturday night. The party had 9 people, and I arrived a bit late. As I pulled into the parking lot, it was completely full, with people parking on the grass. Since my mom and I were in heels and it was already dark, I didn't feel comfortable doing that. Luckily, I found a spot as someone was leaving. Inside, the restaurant was extremely crowded. The space is very tight, and the tables are so close together that you can hear other people's conversations and see what they're eating. It was also hard for servers to move around, which made the whole environment feel chaotic and made it difficult to enjoy conversation. When I sat down, someone (not sure if it was our waiter) placed the menus in front of us without introducing themselves. Since everything felt rushed, I ordered quickly. I also never saw a drink menu, which felt like a missed opportunity. My mom and I shared a margherita pizza. It came out quickly, which was a plus, but it was underwhelming. The crust was very thin and flimsy, yet difficult to cut, and there were barely any toppings. It also left me feeling bloated afterwards. Drinks are canned with no refills. Service overall felt rushed and unpolished. No one checked on our table, and they repeatedly tried to clear our plates while we were still eating. At one point, my mom was still cutting her pizza when they asked to take her plate, and then came back again shortly after. We ended up giving our plates away even though we weren't finished, which felt uncomfortable. There was also a spill near our table that was cleaned with paper towels instead of proper equipment, which stood out given how busy the restaurant was. The restroom experience was also concerning. It was very small, with one stall and two sinks, and seemed poorly designed. More importantly, staff were using it as a passageway to the kitchen, walking through while guests were inside. This felt inappropriate, unsanitary, and lacking basic privacy. I also didn't notice a changing station or any alternative restroom. For what we ordered (one pizza and two canned sodas), the total was around $50, which felt overpriced for the overall experience. I also noticed that gratuity was included, which in my opinion can lead to minimal effort in service since the tip is already guaranteed. I usually tip 15-20%, but had I paid closer attention, I likely wouldn't have tipped based on this experience. As someone who values the full dining experience, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant if you're looking for a comfortable sit-down meal. The concept may appeal to some, but the execution didn't match the pricing or expectations.

Everything about this place is incredible. Food, atmosphere, wait staff! We had a wonderful time and enjoyed every bit of the family meals. Very authentic!

Chicken Piccata with Spaghetti aglio e olio and Broccolini

I have driven past this restaurant several times, living only a few miles away. I decided to stop in for dinner with a friend of mine. Sorry, but this has to be the worst Italian food I have ever had. If I can give the food negative stars, I would!! Service was not bad, and the atmosphere was ok. I ordered the Chicken Piccata with Spaghetti with garlic and oil, and Broccolini. The Chicken was a small piece of grilled chicken breast, that had to have been cooked for an hour...(chicken piccata is first dipped in flour then cooked in olive oil and butter...in case you need to know) and it was covered in some kind of lemon caper sauce that neither tasted like lemon or caper. The "homemade" spaghetti was a hard clumpy, gummy mass of yellow strings. No flavor whatsoever. No salt in any of the food, and no salt on the table either...but that would not have helped this whatsoever. Honestly , the food came out so fast after it was ordered, there was no way the food was made to order. I do have to admit...the can of coke was cold, so that was a plus!! My friend ordered the Pappardelle Bolognese. The pasta was "ok", but again no salt. The Bolognese sauce was a watery substance with some ground beef. This should have never been called "bolognese" because nothing in that plate represented a bolognese sauce whatsoever. I would have had a much better meal at Olive Garden, and I am no fan of Olive Garden!! All in all, I will never, EVER, recommend this restart to anyone. It was HORRIBLE. I gave the remainder of my food to the homeless person next door. I hope he eats it!
