After frequenting this location for a few years now, I can say it's a solid spot for some tasty gulf seafood. After trying more of the menu, I can safely say I look forward to every visit here. It's a pretty popular spot and can fill up quickly during prime time on the weekends, but they offer options online like reservations or getting on the waitlist. One of my favorite items to order here is the rainbow trout with the tasty lemon butter sauce. It comes with two large fillets of fish, four shrimp, and a side of green beans, which I swap out for broccolini. The green beans are not great. I always have enough fish for leftovers for another meal. Really all the fish items are delicious! The house made tartar sauce here is also the bomb and pairs nicely with the dried seafood. Make sure to ask for extra! Of course the off menu crab fingers are a hit as well as the shrimp and crab cobb salad for a healthier option! Amazing! My uncle came in from Kansas City and we chose this because of his preference for clean salmon. What we got was a world class experience that included both great food and stellar service at lunchtime (more like 5 star restaurant dinner). I took my husband for a birthday lunch on Tuesday. We got there right around lunch peak time at noon. The restaurant was packed, but we got seated right away. We were seated at a booth directly under the ac vent. It was so cold luckily we had jackets in our car. We informed our server Erich because we didn't want our food to get cold and he informed management. The management team were so nice and accommodating and turned the ac up for us. The service and food were good. I like that they offer lunch specials so you can get a good deal. It is limited on the lunch menu. We ordered the Mississippi Catfish and Shrimp Etoufee and Grouper. I've been meaning to visit Pappas Seafood House for some time. I won't add to what others are saying -- the service and food are fantastic here. You will NOT leave hungry. For appetizers we started with the Seafood Cocktail: jumbo lump crab, octopus, chilled shrimp, avocado, jalapeño, black pepper crackers | 21.95. SO good. Super fresh, cold, perfect way to start. Next we tried the Baked Jumbo Lump Crab Cake ($33.95) and the Brie & Jumbo Lump Crab Spinach Dip (22.95). Both were lick the plate delicious. For mains, I selected the Wild-Caught Grouper & Jumbo Crab Seared grouper, shrimp, jumbo lump crab, lemon chile butter, Parmesan fregola (44.95). It's a phenomenal dish -- the grouper was prepared perfectly. It's a decadent dish -- incredible. Soak up that butter with the fresh french bread that's served at the table. I couldn't even think of ordering dessert but my colleagues seemed to enjoy many of the delicious dessert offerings. I can't wait to come back to Pappas on my next trip to Houston. Staff: Everyone was extremely friendly. I think anyone who walked past our table spoke or checked in on us. Our waiter was DeMario and he had a great personality and attention to detail. Before the arrived Sultan showed incredible teamwork bu getting our drinks and order started. We were seated by Christian who started the entire experience off on a good note. Food: Delicious! HIGHLY RECOMMEND: We landed at Pappa's by accident when our departing flights got canceled at IAH. *due to the 3/17/2026 snopacolypse up north. We rolled up to the restaurant with all of our luggage. We needed to sit down, grab a drink, and figure out new flights to get us back to Wisconsin. To our delight, the hostess sat us immediately. Our waitress was kind and gave us plenty of space and time to get our new flights booked. Then we ordered food which was oysters on the half shell and the catfish platter. Holy smokes it was amazing! This was a Tuesday evening dinner with my family. Everything was pretty seamless. There was no wait. The hostess greeted us and went to seat us but I did not want to sit in the bar area and it was not a problem at all. He immediately gave us a table in the dining area. We waited a bit for our waiter but another waiter came over to greet us and take our drink order. Our waiter came over shortly after... he was very attentive throughout. I believe his name is Dan or maybe Don. I ordered grilled shrimp, a baked potato and a salad. I asked for them not to put the normal seasoning on the shrimp as I am watching my sodium intake and it came out perfectly. Also ordered all my toppings on the side for the baked potato... and this was executed great! Pappas Seafood House is in our rotation of restaurants, so we eat here often and it's pretty much solid. Patty gave us great service. Like all of Pappas' restaurants, the decor is always tastefully done. Their Lemon Drop Martini was right on point as was hubby's Smoked Old Fashion. Nice setting and most of the time they are on point. My family and I frequent there very often so we expect great service as that's what they guarantee. The last two times we had reservations way ahead of time and my wife and I arrived 1.5 hour ahead to make sure everything was good and on time for our table that we reserved. Unfortunately after waiting and our party arriving early to be on time our table was given to another large party that had put in reservations via walk in so we ended up waiting an entire 3 hours total to get a table and that threw all of our timing off for the celebrations. After trying to handle it in a professional manner we were offered "an appetizer" for a party of 14 that ordered, paid and tipped very well. I truly enjoy this establishment and if they can fix the communication flaw and also make sure that their servers are putting in every order because for that same celebration myself (the host) did not get my order with my tables and it had to be fired after realizing it was never put into the system so that was an entire 30+ minutes and no type of accommodation was offered or made for that and I ordered the Pappas Deluxe Platter. I'm not going to lie we haven't been back on a weekly basis like normal since that transpired, but if they were to fix those simple flaws, we would be great. I'm still recommending because I know the industry and food and service always has been great on all of my other visits. So I hope that we can get on the same accord and my family will be back visiting one of our favorites really soon. read more

Our waitress was kind and courteous. I ordered a cosmopolitan my usual drink and got something that tasted horrible. I opened for one of their advertised drinks I believe it started with Voodoo. That was a better choice. For lunch my son ordered the chicken tenders. I ordered the fried shrimp with a Caesar salad and my mom ordered the crab cakes. Pappas Seafood House always delivers fresh and tasty food. I've been going to this establishment for years but I believe this is my favorite location. The food is very similar to pappadeux! My favorite things to order here are a caesar salad (they have some of the best caesar dressing), fried shrimp, shrimp etouffee, and a loaded baked potato. You can't miss with these items! The fried shrimp is always so fresh that you can taste the natural sweetness in the shrimp and the breading is fried to perfection. The shrimp etouffee is perfectly spiced and its buttery and flavorful. The loaded baked potato might sound average but the honey bacon they put on top elevates it!! So good. Although everything I listed is great, I've tried a variety of menu items and a couple of things fall short. While I know kids meal portions are portioned for kids the grilled shrimp kids combo is so small with 4 little shrimp. I've ordered that with a side of "Roasted Shallot Green Beans" but the green beans were literally just boiled with no seasoning. It's a shame that the grilled shrimp are significantly smaller than the fried shrimp. Also, the take home and bake bread and butter has no shelf life so be aware. Other than that, the food here is delicious and i'd recommend to anyone looking for some convenient fresh seafood in houston! read more

Ordered a shrimp étouffée to go for lunch today. I am very disappointed, I was not given utensils, napkins, and the bread was cold and stale. There was also an issue about the gift card I received when I purchase $150.00. Apparently, the Reps that issued gift card has given me an outdated card, as a result, Pappas won't honor it. However, I'm just glad that I'm smart enough to show the Rep my e-mail that it was sent to me on 05/2025 and that I bought on May 2025 according. I was glad that this happened outside in the "Go Pick up." area or else, it would have been embarassing for me. I ordered the house salad with ranch to start and the salad was delicious. It was fresh and came out right away. I'll be honest. Cajun cuisine is not the first thing that comes to mind when searching for a restaurant and is not my favorite type of cuisine. My husband feels the same way, although we are still open to trying different cuisines. Surprisingly, he was hell bent on trying the shrimp and crawfish fondue at Pappas, considering they focus on Louisiana/Cajun style favorites and Gulf Coast seafood. It took a bit of convincing, but I eventually succumbed. We ordered the shrimp and crawfish fondue (the whole reason we came), which actually tasted better than expected! It was divine and came with a large loaf of garlic bread. It's listed under "small bites" in the appetizer section, but I was almost full before the main entree arrived. We also ordered the Seafood Platter, which consisted of 2 catfish fillets, shrimp, oysters, stuffed shrimp and stuffed crab. This platter also came with fries. Everything was fried, but oh so tasty! This was a much better experience than our last Cajun cuisine adventure at Fezzo's in Broussard, LA in September. We were both stuffed to the brim and sadly, had no room for dessert. However, the server & manager had other plans and offered a complimentary dessert to celebrate our first visit to the restaurant! We chose the turtle fudge brownie, which we ended up taking to-go.
