Restaurant is located in an area with lots of tours near the cemetery and museum. Only the take out window was opened on a busy Friday. I had a chicken shawarma sandwich, which was a bit pricey but very good! It was packed with chicken and the other toppings, and pleasantly filling. This is really good food put together by people who care. I do take out from there almost weekly when not traveling, and have yet to have anything but a good meal. My wife and I are big fans of the chicken shish, which is perfectly seasoned and cooked, and served with the rice, cucumber/tomato salad and pita, makes the perfect meal. WOW WOW WOW is all I can say. Food was amazingly fresh and flavorful,..better than anything ever experienced from Boston's highest rated Mediterranean restaurants that we frequent often. It's obvious they love what they do and execute it exceptionally well. They have it all, absolutely delicious. Just go there. A real find, no doubt the best in Salem or anywhere for that matter. The hospitality is second to none. This will be #1 on my list and will be back often. Real hole-in-the-wall place in a pseudo-ally off of the main drag in Salem. They are pretty quick and priced really well. Both meat-eaters and vegetarians I've taken here have been happy with their meals. Originally I was all about their pita wraps. Very filling, easy to eat on the go, lovely fillings. However if you are very hungry go with a bowl. Same great insides but you can pick the flavors you want in every mouthful. I like the hummus and tahini on the side so it can travel a little longer when getting takeout. My husband swears by getting fries inside every order. As a result of COVID, the Paprika Grill takes orders online then you pick up by the window, but there is an outdoor seating section which is extremely convenient. The menu has a wide array of options and also accommodates those with dietary restrictions. While I can only attest to their bowls, they are a strong indication to the care Paprika puts into all of their food. The Lamb Adana bowl (everything style) has great, tender lamb that is seasoned and cooked incredibly-- juicy and flavorful. Paired with fresh vegetables that add vibrancy to the meal, rice that adds substance, and their tzatziki sauce, hummus, and hot sauce which rounds up the meal beautifully. For a little more, you can also add grape leaves, fries, or other sides, which is great value and delicious. Prices are great for the amount you get .. the hummus is amazing and so is tzatziki sauce.. falafel's are cooked just right..they don't mind adding more sauce , hummus whatever you'd like if you ask on side as my friends/ bf don't like it as much as I do .. don't know why as theirs is amazing! After a couple of trips, it's time for a review! Okay so what I've tried so far has been interesting, and I would like to try more items. With this recent trip, I only ordered the chicken adana wrap. The veggies were crisp and fresh, and the chicken had a very nice flavor to it. The overall flavor was mellow but not bland. It's listed at being spicey, I presume because of the red pepper but I am inclined to disagree. I am excited to see a place in the north shore area offering things like fresh baba ganoush, hummus, and stuffed grape leaves. Looking forward to trying these out in the future. The restaurant is this little hole in the wall on Liberty street. It is nice because it is in a quiet area, but I fear people are missing out because they do not know it is here since it is not visible from the foot traffic on Derby street. Great little spot in downtown Salem with small indoor seating or take out food they will even deliver! We started with Baba Ganoush and Warm Pita, totally delicious. Followed by Doner and Chicken Shish Kebab dinners. Nice tender texture on meats, balanced with rice and toppings. Meals served in round tins so if there are leftovers just pop a top on it for tomorrow! Got the rice pudding to go. Very simple ingredients with everything and so good!! Great fast casual Mediterranean spot. Not to skip ahead, but the baklava here is not to be missed; its super moist and flavorful. The chicken shawarma was heavily seasoned (in a good way) and quite tender. Their baba ganoush is all-time; there is so much smoky flavor in there. Wow! A gem in the heart of downtown Salem. The food is tasty, fresh, and well seasoned. Service was quick and staff was very friendly. Seating is a bit limited inside, but there are a few tables outside that are nice. I'm not sure what it would be like during the winter, but the outdoor seating was awesome during the summer. Came here looking for something keto inspired and I was not disappointed! Tucked away right next to the Salem cemetery you'll find this cute eatery. They freshly grill up your meat of choice and serve it with lettuce, pickled cabbage, carrots, hummus, and rice as a bowl, wrap, or pita. Super delicious food and genuine hospitality by the entire staff! The food was perfectly cooked and fresh.

A friend who lives in town suggested this place so we (a different friend and I) decided to try it for a late lunch. We didn't realize it was more of a takeout location with only about a dozen seats: two regular height tables and about four high tops and worse of all ... NO bathroom. We decided to stay to give it a try. The menu is posted above the counter where you order, paper menus are also available ... which is what I needed since the fine print under the menu items was a challenge for me to read. My friend decided on the Chicken Adana bowl, me the kofta over Mediterranean salad and both of us a small soup of the day which was described as lemon chicken. We ordered at the counter, paid and were told the food would be brought to our table. We took a seat at a high top located 3/4 into the restaurant. As we waited (for what felt like at least 10-15 minutes), we thought our soups would be served first. When the soups did arrive, the lunch entrees arrived minutes later. It would have been nice to be able to enjoy the soup first. When the soup was described as lemon chicken, I envisioned the the Greek lemon chicken soup (Avegolemono). Much to our disappointment it was far from that. It was a light broth with lightly cooked chopped carrots and celery that floated toward the top and diced chicken at the bottom. The soup base was very peppery to me. Very hot but just not what I thought it would be. Same for my friend. My friend's chicken was "meh" and she expected the rice at the bottom of her bowl to be hot but it was room temp. My kofta was ok, not the best I've ever had. Salad greens were fresh and crunchy. The two people working there, a man and women, were both polite but said very little. About $28 total for both of our lunches. We didn't leave hungry but didn't leave content. Not sure what the hype about this place is as we later saw it was listed as one of the top 37 restaurants according to the Boston Globe Magazine. The restaurant was freezing, we kept our down coats on the whole time we were there. Don't think we'll be back. read more

I stopped in for lunch before heading back out of the city and got the dõner kebab bowl with everything. It was delicious. The flavors were amazing, it was fresh, light and the meat was so tender while being super filling. My food came out timely and the service was nothing to complain about. Great middle eastern food in the heart of Salem! Paprika Grill seems to focus mostly on take out orders since they do not have much seeing inside. That being said, the food is delicious and definitely gives you a bang for your buck. When you go be sure to try the Mixed Grill Rice Bowl. Loved stopping at this restaurant as my first dining experience in Salem. I ordered a chicken kebab rice bowl which turned out amazing. All the ingredients are fresh and delicious. I also had the baba ghanoush appetizer which I was surprised by the size of the eggplant dish I received (much larger than I expected from any restaurant) but i loved it and that's why I highly recommend grabbing a bite to eat here. This is a good place to get great quality takeout or a quick stop for some delicious food (seating area might be limited). The lady working was incredibly nice and made our meals perfect. One of the best Greek places I've been to!! I ordered the lamb Adana bowl and had the rice substituted for extra veggies. I think I was up charged $1 for doing so, but whatever. The lamb was super flavorful and really tender!! The veggies were pretty standard, but not bad at all. I'd definitely come here again. read more

This place is a bit easy to miss since they currently just have online ordering with window pick up right now but it's one of the BEST food places in Salem and the surrounding area.
