Sadly, Coriander Bistro has new owners, and the restaurant has changed for the worse. I've been there 3x since it changed ownership, and I'm not sure whether I'll go back. Today, the heat was off (the plates and flatware were sooo cold!), the lights were off, and the music was off. The food at the buffet was also not plentiful -- they ran out of rice and only 1/2 refilled it, and we even had to ask for naan. Only 2 other parties were in the restaurant with us at 12:30 PM, which definitely tells me that others have noticed. This place used to be packed for lunch buffet on a Saturday! Service was incredibly slow and inattentive, which is very odd because 2 servers were present and only 3 tables had diners. I'm so disappointed! This truly has been my favorite restaurant for several years, both before and after they were closed for 6 mos in 2023. I may have to try eating here again in a few months, in hopes that they get it together.

Amazing experience at Coriander Bistro! I randomly picked this place for my family and we loved it! The Dinner for two is an amazing deal for new visitors to try everything. The butter chicken I can't stop talking about! I'm usually not a fan but I could eat it like soup here. Highly recommend!

This place beats out a lot of the competition in Indian food. For an app, we got Vegetable Momo dumplings (identified as 'Nepali' specialty). These were truly excellent and not at all what they look like in the photos, i.e. frozen wontons. An interesting mix of sesame flavor, tomato, and fresh veggies. If I had to criticize, I'd say I would wish the portion size was just a little bigger for this app, given the price. However taste and quality in this and the other dishes were excellent. For mains, I got Lamb Kabob and the wife got Chicken Tiika Saag. The lamb was tender nicely marinated, generously portioned and covered with fresh cilantro. Wife's chicken was also quite good and portions were good. The meat was tender, tasty and not greasy. Another thing I liked about this place was they provided the Basmati rice at no extra charge. Many places would charge extra. They also threw in a couple of Papadum crackers and the three chutneys that you often get when dining in at an indian restaurant. Even though this was a minor detail, the chutneys had a fresh taste, not a cheap canned taste that you'll often find in the average Indian restaurant. So yeah, I thought this place was pretty damm good. Really a 4.5 stars based on our experience. I think this might be my new go-to place for Indian.

My friend and I split a bunch of things and keep talking about what to order when we go back. We tried a few of their appetizers and they were all delicious! We split to entrees and the mango curry was a knock out! The menu is slightly different than the usual Indian restaurants we go to, and I am obsessed. Our server was lovely. The owner came to speak with us and he was super friendly. The restaurant was clean, the wine was cold, naan was tasty, and I had somewhere to park my car. Can't wait to go back!!!

I was a bit apprehensive as some places with nearly perfect ratings tend to let you down, but Swad did not disappoint. The interiors (5/5) are tastefully modern with well thought out decor, with a bar near the entrance and plenty of tables for dining in. Music was pleasant and added to the ambiance. We started off the vegetable pakoras as an appetizer and mango lassi to drink. These vegetable pakoras (4.5/5) were delicious and well-liked. My only minor complaint would be the portion size as it likely should have included an additional 2-3 pakoras for the price, as the accompanying chutneys took up a good chunk of the space on the plate these were served on. The mango lassi (5/5) was refreshing with perfect hints on mango without being too sweet. For meals, we went with their butter chicken and paneer tikka masala (both 4.5/5). We really enjoyed the gravies with these dishes, as they were of high quality, and you could tell they were prepared by a chef that knows his recipes. The chicken was tender and not at all dried out, and the paneer was of good quality as well. Meals were served with ample rice for both dishes. We tried out both the butter naan (4.5/5) and garlic naan (5/5), which were excellent and served in a decent portion size, with a slight edge going to the garlic naan as it was one of the best I've had recently. For dessert, we went with the mango kulfi (5/5) which was beautifully presented and a perfect way to end off the meal, and a decent portion size for sharing. The service (4.5/5) was kind and attentive throughout the meal, and the server was happy to bring out additional bowls and utensils so that the dessert could be shared. The owner was also kind enough to check in on us a few times, happily engaging with us and ensuring everything was to our liking, which is always a cornerstone of a well run business. Overall, we were highly satisfied with our meal at Swad, so wouldn't hesitate to return or recommend them to others looking for high quality Indian cuisine in the Providence/Riverside area.

The restaurant was comfy; there was an electric fireplace on the wall which made the room feel homey. We got fried pork momos, which were delicious and juicy. I was interested in trying the C-style, but we had a non-spice eater at the table. I got the pork chili from the appetizer menu and garlic naan for my meal, and my companions got the chow mein and sekuwa. The chow mein looked standard and sekewa was grilled chicken served with puffed rice (looked like rice krispies). Everyone was happy with their meals, but I especially loved mine. There were slices of pork belly in a flavorful sauce with tomatoes, onions, and bell peppers. Note that the pork belly still has the skin on it (which I personally love). My only complaint was at medium, the food seemed mild, but I'll be clearer of my spice preferences next time. I would definitely come back specifically for the pork chili!

Decent South Asian and Nepalese place with surprisingly a karaoke night!…read more The bara is a fried pancake of sorts, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The dipping sauce was good as well, possibly a mint-like flavor. The pork momos were really good too, with nice crimping on the skin and decent fillings inside. The chicken vindaloo was decent, though I might have liked more specificity to the flavoring of the vindaloo. The potatoes were nicely textured. The chicken bites were a bit large, they could have been chopped up a bit. The gorkhali khasi (a goat curry) was fairly decent with tender nice pieces. The flavoring was oversalted and again could have used a tad more definition. The bone-in aspect was appreciated as it held the flavor of the meat. The bhindi masala (okra) was fairly successful with a solid infusion of flavor into the okra. The dish was overall too oily though and some steps need to be taken to minimize the oil. All in all quite enjoyable!
