I am happy with our pool. It's one of the best things that we ever did. John kept his promise. He stayed with our budget and built beautiful pool also gave ideas for the pool. Really like how goes over everything The plans on the cost and how much time it will take . His crew is bunch of great guys. They worked really hard and they know their business .This will be our first real summer with the pool we're actually looking forward to it. No more staying inside to stay cool now we have our pool. We recently moved to the Central Valley of California from Southern California. One of my requirements was to buy a house that had a pool, or one with a backyard big enough to add one. My house in Southern California had a pool and my kids started swimming when they were babies so having a pool at the new house was a no-brainer. We didn't find a house with a pool so I decided to have one built. I interviewed several contractors to see what they had to offer. After my research I went with Paradise Pools. The owner John came to my house to look things over and give me ideas of what to do. He wasn't pushy in anyway and worked with my price point. I went to his showroom in Visalia to look over the materials they had to offer and to look at photos of other pools he had built. The office staff were very friendly and helpful. They all made me feel comfortable and were all very professional. Once the start date was set, the process began, which only took a couple months to complete. All of the subcontractors were friendly and very hard working. After the job was completed, John and his crew followed up with me several times to make sure I was satisfied with the results, answered any questions I had, and explained in detail how to operate all of the equipment. Craig, who came out every time I had a question was very knowledgeable and helpful, he had a lot of patience with my questions and answered everything I needed. Michelle, who works in the office, has been a blessing also, she kept me updated every step of the way, answered all the questions I had, and if she didn't know the answer she would find out and get back to me quickly. Paradise pools by John Sweeney has met every expectation of mine. My back yard has been completely transformed into the paradise I have dreamed of having for so many years. Paradise Pools made what could have been a very stressful demolition of my backyard, a seamless transition from boring backyard to a beautiful pool and spa. Through the entire process communication was stellar between contractors, and all phases ran as scheduled including the dig, steel, gunite, stone copping, plaster and decking. I also have a truly unique pool and spa design that is custom to fit my backyard. In closing, I felt it important to give Paradise Pools the kudos they deserve for excellent service. Poor communication just like the other reviewers said. They don't get good subs and won't follow up. Promises made and not kept. My pool was scheduled to be done in 3.5 months. Started at beginning of August and not finished until the last of March. Excuse was COVID. They work outside. What's the problem? It is not what they claim. read more

Paradise pools email was hacked and it costed me $30,000! They did not care and they blamed me for it. No one reached out to apologize or show any concern for my loss. There was zero effort made to right the wrong or offer to build a pool at a discounted price. If I could give zero stars, I would. They just don't care about the customer. read more

I don't know where to start. I'll keep it short and to the point. There is NO COMMUNICATION. It's been 6 months since my pool was completed (November 2020) and we're still waiting for the correct pool cover. Not having the correct pool cover has prevented us from passing the city inspection. It's now May 2021. John's last text stated that he would work on getting the pool cover because he also wanted to get this over with... 2 months ago. I would NOT recommend Paradise Pools. read more

If I can give this company Paradise Pool a cero start I will. The guy came to my house to measure my back to give me a estimate about how much for a pool construction. Later he's said I will send you an email to show you how the pool is going to look and I said ok sounds good after 3 weeks he never email me and he never call me. I call in today to ask when are they going to build the and her assistant just said sorry but is not gonna happen just like the, and I ask well why? And the lady said I don't know he didn't say anything just the he's not gonna build your pool. Well at this point I'm just thinking this person and the whole company are Racists yeah. As we were finishing the build of our new home, we decided to make a dream come true and install a lap pool. Our general contractor asked around, and was told Paradise Pools was the only way to go. We met with John Sweeney, and immediately sensed his passion for pools. John designed our dream pool... and then we worked our way back to the actual budget - no fault of his, just naivety on our part. He was always helpful and professional, and ultimately designed and built exactly what we wanted according to our budget - and it's still a dream pool. There were no surprises in the process, and his professionalism continued through to the very end and beyond. A year after the completion of our pool, we're still dealing with some Pebble Tech discoloration issues - again, no fault of his, but our issue as we figure out the well water. I called John the other day, he picked up the phone immediately, and said, "how are you doing, Jason?" I reminded him of our discussion a year ago, and he reiterated his high standard, and his intent to help us solve the problem. Best things about working with John: 1) He has a sense of himself as a professional businessman, and lives up to that standard; 2) no hidden charges or surprise add ons - straight shooter; 3) his dedication to making sure his customers are happy. I contacted Paradise Pools in November for a consultation on getting a pool. John Sweeney is the owner and he personally came out to give us a quote. We instantly felt comfortable with him and his process. One of the first things that stood out was his attention to detail and the safety of our children in the pool. He right away got to work designing our dream pool! Shortly after our consultation John had a drawing for us. After a few changes we jumped on board and started our pool at the end of January. Our pool was finished at the end of April just in time for the heat! During the process of our build everything went smooth with no issues. When I decided to build a pool, I asked around to get information on pool builders. I did not hear good things about Paradise Pools. I met with John Sweeney and thought he was professional, that is, until my pool project was started. You will not hear from him unless a payment is due. The first two weeks of my pool project they worked 3 days. Oh, it does not get better after that. He never comes by to check on the work, they forget to do things, and my pool is behind schedule. I would never have Paradise Pools build amother pool. We have to call around daily to see what is going to happen next, and remind them what needs to be done. My recommendation is to use a different builder, or be the general on your project yourself. If you use Paradise Pools, you will end up being the general anyway. read more
