Will not be going back for the following reasons: 1) I was rushed to pick out my nail color. I specifically said I wasn't quite ready and the lady grabbed the colors I was holding and said "do this one." Not at all relaxing, which is what I want when I go to a salon. 2) The nail lady completely tore up my cuticles and the skin around my fingers. It looks really ugly. 3) She cut my nails WAY TOO SHORT!! They are so short that the tips of my fingers hurt because that part of my skin wasn't usually so exposed. 4) She slopped the nail polish all over the skin around my nails. It literally looks like a 10 year old did my nails. 5) She had the audacity to ask for a tip. Normally I tip anyway but.... How tacky!! read more

Are manicures supposed to hurt? Went here for a mani/pedi thanks to a Yelp deal. They got me into a chair quickly and the atmosphere was relaxing. 2 of their 3 staff were attending to me so it was a pampered beginning. Until the manicurist deeply cut the cuticles on my right index and middle finger. This was the first of my hands and feet to get serviced, so I couldn't relax as well after. No one acknowledged it until they surprised me by splashing rubbing alcohol on the cuts and I saw the red bloody mess. I was then told, "you have thin cuticles. Sorry." At least the woman apologized. Cons: - Cuticle cuts - ouch. - I don't know what these other people are talking about, I was not offered water. - Never handed me the control for the massage chair. It was hung to the back of the chair the whole time and when I asked for it the woman picked a setting for me and went back to work. - Lots of starting/stopping of the massages due to money handling (but at that point I was the only customer in the place). - dropped a chunk of scrubby oil slush into my Naturalizer sandal. Didn't tell me when putting my sandal on my foot, so I felt it when I stood up and really ground it into the leather. Pros: - Good quality massage. - Awesome additional massage with a bag of paraffin wax on my legs and feet while the polish was drying. - Now I know not to come back. read more

I've been getting my nails done at Paradise Salon for over a year now and absolutely love this place. All of the ladies are wonderfully friendly, detail-oriented, and always do an amazing job - I frequently get compliments on my nails from complete strangers! An extra special mention goes out to Lan. My last few gel manicures have lasted over 3 weeks thanks to her remarkable work. Though they allow for walk-ins, it's always best to give the salon a quick call in advance as they're often busy. I've been coming to Paradise salon for over a year & I have never left without full satisfaction all the way around. I've seen "Lann" for 7 years at a different location and was delighted to see her start here shortly after I started coming in. Lann in particular is precise, thorough, detail oriented, & wants to make sure everything is p e r f c t while doing so in a timely fashion which is hard to come by in this field. I've had pleasant experiences with all of the workers here but in particular I would recommend Lann. Love love love. read more

Not rude, pushy or talking behind your back, lol -bottled water for your refreshment -it doesn't smell like a stanky nail salon -decor and ambience are super cute, nice skylight -great selection of shellac and regular nails -massage chairs (3) After visiting FIVE different nail salons in Corte Madera/Mill Valley area we settled on this one. The others were either too busy, smelly, rude ladies, cheap quality and interior, just not suitable for a girls day out. We walked in on tues afternoon and we were ready to go. An hour later, we came out with pretty hands and feet. Came here for the first time today because the yelp reviews were so high. I was handed off to a woman who rushed her way through my entire manicure not even cleaning the edges of my nail when she was finished. She set a timer when she started to make sure she didn't go over her TWELVE minutes.... If I am paying for a $22 manicure the manicurist better take her time and do it right. I was given a fan to dry my nails for literally 3 minutes and then it was taken away and I was kicked out of my seat for another customer. Horrible experience. Will not return. read more

Love this place! Lan did a great job with my pedicure and Jenny did a great job with my acrylics! It took a long time but worth the wait. This salon is pretty well priced for Bay Area (i relocated from Sacramento so by now I'm used to the sticker shock of higher prices here), but overall a good experience! I have finally found my go to nail salon in Marin!! I have tried numerous places in Marin and have been thoroughly disappointed by all...except Paradise Salon! This nail salon is small, but the decor is peaceful and clean. They have a great selection of polish colors and the ladies working here are so sweet. It is truly a relaxing experience here....not to mention their manicures and pedicures last a very long time! My only gripe with this place is that they are not open on Sundays and closed most holidays...ok ok I know, that's asking a lot to be open 24/7, haha but sometimes with work etc, I like to get my manicures on Sundays. I will happily adjust my schedule to come here though, because they do such a fantastic job and make the experience enjoyable. read more

Had a manicure today with Lan and it was one off the best I've ever had. She is very friendly and has strong hands - really great with the massage. And she went much longer than most. I am pretty rough on my hands and she got them back in shape and feeling good. My wife got a pedicure and she really loved hers as well. I definitely recommend this place! Been a year since reviewing Paradise Salon and happy to say it's as terrific now as it was then. I'm so not a girl and admittedly don't do this or shop. I get sweats even going near a mall. And no my boyfriend does not know how lucky he is :-) But a few weeks ago I took both my children here as a special treat. I don't believe 17 and 15 yr olds should make this a regular habit-sorry but they should be saving their money for a car or college. They did love the indulgence! They were treated so kindly, so warmly, and their mani pedis turned out so beautifully, 100% they would become regulars if they could. I do believe I'm changing, however slightly. I'll never be a diva-way too old ship on that sailed long ago-but having nicely done up nails yes does make me feel more feminine. So do diamonds and Porsche's but first things first. Lan couldn't have been more welcoming. I'm not a regular yet she treated me almost like family. She's at once tough and nurturing; she clearly cares about her salon and clients. I had this gel manicure they all seem to get nowadays. Lasts weeks and you can abuse your nails without worry. Whomever invented this did patrons a service but I imagine salons now have to wait longer for clients to return. So many color choices too. It really is that good! There are a zillion nail salons in Marin. So why come to Paradise? Loyalty breeds familiarity. When you become a regular client you'll not only have beautiful nails but you'll feel you have acquired an aunt-and not a crazy one either-but an extended family member who will ask you about your crazy cute boyfriend and acknowledge how lovely your children are. Now who wouldn't want a little more authenticity in their life?! Next time-in three weeks she told me to come back-I'm gonna get some luscious purple or deep pink nails. I came here today for a mani pedi, last minute. They saw me right away. One woman focused on my hands, while another woman focused on my feet. They were both really nice, and gave good massages. I opted for the extra foot and extra shoulder massages, each for an extra $10. For my hands, I got a French manicure with gel polish. And for my feet, I got a pedicure with pretty pink polish. Both look great. They shaped my nails well. And they check to make sure you like it. I will return again. Terrible ....So at this place they really sell you on the new powder nail polish and say how good it is for your nails and easy to get off.. however if you are under the age of 30 or look under the age of thirty... they will completely just try to rip your nails off / do whatever is quickest. After telling me when I got the nail polish , that it is easy removal ... I come back in 2 weeks later and they immediately rip off two of my nails to were the layers are visibly shredding and the women cut off completely one side of my real pinky nail. Twenty minutes later a married women ( clearly regular ) comes in and they start using the aluminum and acetone ( as advertised) on her. DO not go here.. bad people , so they def dont follow sterilization rules either . read more

In my twenty-three years of walking this earth, I only recently decided it was time to know what a pedicure was. Holy moly, this place set the bar high. The shop is clean and nicely decorated. (They use plastics in the foot tubs for sanitation reasons, I was very pleased to see this right off the bat) They had me pick out my polish and sit down in their massage chair. They offered me water and magazines. I declined because I was so absorbed in watching everything going on. I've since had a couple more pedicures at different places and now I know how good this place really was. The "extras" at a lot of other salons are standard here. There was a quick little foot massage, about 10 minutes. A sugar scrub for my feet and legs. And I feel like there was something else, but I can't remember. Other salons tend to charge for these things. These guys didn't. My pedicure was like $36 or so and you could upgrade to mani-pedi for something like $42. The color looked great, they paid attention to detail. I have ever so slightly ingrown toenails on my big toes which can make getting the edges tricky. Not only did they paint the edges, they also shaped them so that they were growing in a proper way. As a bonus, I ran into my high school Spanish teacher. I don't think this is standard for everyone, but it was a happy treat. ;D read more

So I drop in half an hour prior to closing time for a regular nail polish manicure. I figured my odds of actually getting my nails done was 50/50 because I had no appointment and they'd be closing soon. As I walk in the door, I hear a cheerful "Hi! What do you need?" and I knew I came out a winner on that 50/50 coin toss. Yass! I didn't get my manicurist's name, but she does beautiful work *without* cutting cuticles. ​I was very disappointed when I went there just a few days ago. When I was a kid and got gift certificates to from here from a family, I would walk heer all the time because it was convenient. This time I got acrylics with French. I wanted something simple because I am going to Europe in one week. It also is my birthday this week, so I wanted to treat myself. I wanted to add some flowers, but it was going to cost five dollars per finger!!! It took me 30 mins just for them to get started on gluing on the acrylics. I started on the pedicure chair because the manicurist was busy. Then they didn't ever correct my needs. Whenever I am worked on, I always say what I want, and the workers adjust, so it looks good, that did not happen this time. I rarely get my nails done since I work in the food/customer service industry. This also isn't the first time I have had bad nails from Paradise Salon; it's also quite pricy. I have had better.
