I watch DDD every weekend. So when my wife said did you see the episode at Paradise they opened in Tempe. I found the episode on YouTube and I knew this was going to be good. Most of the DDD restaurants in Arizona suck. I swear del falco burns my pizza everytime I give them another try Anyway to make a long story short this place is legit. If you like smash burgers this is about as good as it gets. I love that the patties are 4 ounces each so you get plenty of char. I love the bread. In my opinion cheese burgers are supposed to have a brioche bun. My only complaint is I feel like both the onion rings and the fries are too salty. My wife and I were very pleasantly surprised when we happened across this gem the other day. I had the Booze burger and my wife had the Daddy Melt. Both were excellent. Los Onion rings were a must try. We enjoyed the French toast fries, but probably wouldn't order them next time so we can order two servings of the onion rings. We were excited to have PVBC open in our hood. I am a burger purist, which means I don't like all those newfangled burgers places have come up with. I like the classic cheeseburger with burger sauce. At PVBC, they switch up the classic cheeseburger a bit by replacing the regular onions with pickled onions and pickles are replaced by cucumbers. Those small changes really heighten the flavor of a regular old cheeseburger. Hubby likes the burger that's topped with green chilies and avocado. This is a fantastic new burger joint in Tempe! The restaurant is clean, modern, and sports a mural featuring a picture of Guy Fieri, of DDD fame. The staff is friendly and efficient, and the person I ordered my food with at the front counter even came to my table after I was served, to ask how my first few bites were. I had the CHS burger and seasoned fries. The food was brought out to my table right away by someone in the kitchen. The burger was cooked to perfection, with the cheese melted and warm. I liked the brioche bun too. The seasoned fries had a spicy-sweet taste, which was a surprise. They were crisp, and warm with no oily feel to them. The fries are to die for with their secret bbq dry rub seasoning! I'm so grateful they opened up this second location cause it's a little closer to my house! The guys working the front taking your order are very knowledgeable and helpful when ordering. They have a smaller menu but each burger is thought out and different from each other. Was/Is a good experience every time I come. The new location has Guy Fieri art on the wall because the original was on Diner, Drive ins and Dives. It's a little more modern than the original and I like that it has ample seating. This is a must try for first timers and a definite return for customers who are looking for a quality burger. The husband liked his burger but not the sauce that comes on it. Lucky for him, he got it in the side. Our daughter did not like her burger, but she is very particular about burgers. Burgers were all good nicely, medium. Fries were good, crunchy, and soft in the middle. The spice they put on is a little sweet for me, but my husband loved them. Onion rings were crisp and good. The star of the show was the jalapeño fries. Smoky and flavorful and just a hint of heat. My non spicy eating husband even loved them. He also ordered the Los Onion Rings which has a spicy honey dressing drizzled on them and roasted thyme as well. The tunes here are also on point! With 80's classics- makes it such a vibe. Really REALLY disappointed in these guys. My fiancé and I went here last year probably later summer and it was great, big burger, lots of toppings and pretty damn juicy. We went again last night and I was almost furious at how small the burger patties had gotten, literally looked less than a 1/4lb patties but still paying over $12.50 for a double? I remember the entire burger before was huge and juicy and i was amazed at all the food I got. Now I was screaming inside when I got the burger at the table, completely shocked and confused. I was very hesitant to try since I'm not a big PB&J fan, but Taz, the employee who helped us out, assured me it was actually really good and they themself typically hate PB&J! Food was amazing! I had the Kentucky Fried Burger special, and also sampled my wife's Paradise Valley Burger. We split some onion rings. Never had anything quite like the Kentucky Fried Burger, which came with seasoned mashed potatoes ON it, plus gravy on the side. It was delicious! Paradise Valley Burger was a bit less flavorful but still made with fresh, high-quality meat, perfectly cooked. Super-friendly staff. I thought about dinging a star because they have some appliances stored in the dining area, which made it a little less attractive. The service/staff seems a little disorganized with the front end and kitchen not communicating well, leaving me waiting for an order that had been finished awhile. It costs less than a bun, but they charge you more. The portion of a side of fries is sort of small. The price for 2 people to eat a burger and fries was about $32 before tip.
