Don't get me wrong, wasn't expecting much, and I had a great time w/friends as I always do when golfing. So, cafe is closed and you can buy beer, soda, water, chips, etc. when you check in, no coolers allowed but they were everywhere - obviously the place is suffering so much they just don't want to turn anyone away. The course itself is in bad disrepair - greens were like mini golf - hard, bumpy and some had huge holes. The rest of the course was hard as a rock too, and lots of dirt patches. What I did like was it was wide open and cheap - so a great practice spot for the short game. For $19 you play & get hand cart - a little pricey considering the lack of ammenitites, and condition of the course, but golfing on a neglected course still outweighs not golfing at all. read more

I played here this morning and thought the value was great. I paid only $23 for a 7:30 tee time. The grass is well maintained. The gentlemen in the pro shop was very friendly and helpful. This isn't the nicest course but it a good executive course and was enjoyable to play for a beginner like me. read more

Inexpensive executive course even in peak season. The greens can sometimes look diseased but all in all an ok place to golf. Staff maybe short on a friendly smile but the green fees can usually cheer you up. You know the course can play fast when you got guys at the 19th drinking their 3rd PBR at 9am. Haven't played this course since it was run by Brian Whitcomb. I always liked the layout with mainly par three holes and a few par fours along with one par 5. Pros and cons. Guys in the pro shop were friendly and helpful. Problem was the cafe area is only open Thursday through Sunday, so no opportunity to get water or a cold beverage to take out on the course. Water fountains on the course were in bad shape and virtually of no use. Not a good situation in the Phoenix heat. I had to quit after nine due to onset dehydration. As to the course, it's a disaster. Fairways for the most part are about 50% dirt with some grass. Tee boxes are basically dirt and hard to sink a tee. Greens were in excellent shape and ran true. The course needs increased maintenance to improve the enjoyment. Unless, that is, the owners are waiting to sell the property so some developer can come in and build another new apartment complex. Apologize for being snide but that's the impression I left with. read more

So this is a really cheap golf course.. It is fine for beginners. It is not in the best shape. It is what it is. They have a range as well... They have carts for the course. It is short.. Doubtful I would go back. But for people starting out, it should work for them. read more

I came here with my husband and two of our friends. Checking in was really easy and the staff was very kind and helpful. My friend and I went to buy some drinks before heading out with our husbands and we were happy with the service and the fact that they packed them in ice for us. On the course itself the green was in great shape and they had recently seeded. Overall with the prices they charge this was a steal. We highly recommend this course! read more

Played here on a Saturday morning and won't be coming back. Like so many others on here, we also received rude, entitled attitudes from both of the guys in the pro shop. It's amazing how bad they are. They must hate golf or hate people. Either way they both need to find a new line of work. Unfortunately the course is equally bad. Hard packed and just not taken care of all around. Lots of better courses around town for the same money with people that understand what customer service actually is. read more

Played here multiple times because it's close to home but I'll never play here again. Lenny at the front desk has terrible customer service. It also rain today, didn't even get through 4 holes and they wouldn't give me a rain check. Greens are in horrible condition and half the fairways are yellow. Use to frequent this course 3-4 times a week and it has gone way downhill! Workers in the club house are rude, booked tee times are not followed, always backed up, no range balls at 5:00 p.m. when they close at 6:30 p.m. Do not waste your time or money on a business who doesn't care! The front desk staff are very rude. They hang up the phone without saying anything. They have horrible customer service. I called to schedule a t time at 5:22pm and the guy said he had just shut off his computer (The place closes at 6pm) so I am supposed to call back tomorrow. Worthless. read more

A great, executive, short course that will test your iron play! Nice, easy pace. A few par 4 holes and one par 5. Few sand traps that are easy to play from. Greens are fairly slow but manageable. A nice alternative to the higher priced venues. A definite destination for the golfer who will enjoy a less-than 4 and a half to five hour round of golf. Easy access from AZ-51 and N 101. I will return for another golf outing for sure. read more

Pro shop was friendly and accommodating. The course for $40 was a bit pricey for the course and conditions. The snack bar was a joke. I asked for a hotdog and the lady behind the counter told me that it would be 30 minutes to warm up the grill. The lady didn't seem to care about doing her job. If you're into off-roading cart parts, tee boxes that break more than the greens, and fairways that smell like chicken coops, then this is the course for you! Terrible course. Even thou they just overseeded and it was cart path only, cart paths were horrible. Watch out for a pot hole all the way through the course. Terrible service, we never been there and really didn't know where to go, we drove to the 10th hole by accident, the guy in the pro shop came out and started yelling at us. Would have rather gave that $35 to a homeless person. Play one of the city courses instead. read more

Like golf? Like it cheap? Then Paradise Valley Park Golf Course is for you! I give this place three stars because it's very inexpensive and allows people that just want to play a casual game of golf to do so without breaking the bank. But keep in mind that you do get what you pay for, and that this is no Pebble Beach. It's not the greatest 18 hole course out there, but it's still fun. If you're looking to just hit a few balls, you can always do that too for a few bucks. Since this is a community course, there's no membership required and anyone can come, including the little ones. Take the kids here when it cools down and have some inexpensive fun! read more

Worse course I've ever played. Greens are terrible. Everything is super dry. Not even worth the 20 dollar hot deal.

Course isn't in good shape at all. But if you are looking for a cheap place to practice your irons this isn't bad. Just don't expect the club house staff to be very nice since it seems like most of them have their panties in a mess. read more

This public golf course has to be the worst one in the Phoenix area. The fairways and greens are a mess, there is no attempt at landscaping around the holes and although it is not expensive they charge more than other public course and put no effort into keeping this course even remotely acceptable. Probably the worst golf experience Ever! Don't waste your money. Used to be your average muni course maintenance crew was lounging all over the course smoking and joking. Have the tee boxes were not set up. Cart paths are over grown. I complained to staff at the end of the round he smiled and told me to have a nice day. At least he was polite. We've played at this Executive course for several years, every time we visit family and friends in Phoenix but it has gone way downhill over the past few months. We were told it is under new ownership who obviously isn't interested in keeping it in good condition. I came across the most arrogant golf shop desk man that I have ever experienced. Mr. Michael Miller had the audacity to call the police and have them ask me to leave the driving range for a minor infraction (retrieving 4 golf balls slightly ahead of my driving range area) and telling the police that I was rude and would not leave when asked to. Mr. Miller definitely has some personal issues and does not believe in customer appreciation and relations. An absolutely terrible approach over a very innocent situation. read more

Not sure how this course has a rating above one. I make the mistake a couple of times a year of heading over to this course thinking that maybe it's turned around and the staff will be friendly and act like they are actually enjoying their job, or the range balls will actually have dimples but I'm always disappointed. I'm not the only one, check the reviews. This course needs to hire people who make you want to play the course or hit some balls. Instead it seems like you are inconveniencing them by showing up. Almost always older staff that are grumpy and rude. Go find a job you like guys. Might be time to revaluate the hiring process. As far as the course when I've played it, you get what you pay for I suppose. Although the rates in the winter are way too high when you can play much better courses, that aren't executive, for the same price. Save your money as their are so many courses that will be enjoyable for you to play in the valley. This isn't one of them for sure! When it comes to finding a good golf course for a decent price, you'd think this place would be the perfect place. Boy, were we wrong. When it comes to Paradise, this is far from it. They should name it Death Valley golf course from the way the greens are. I couldn't tell If I was putting on the greens or on the cart path. That's how bad the greens were being taking care of. Oh, and their snack shop, is literally a snack shop. They can't even sell like a hotdog or a simple sandwich... just chips and crackers. And the lady who runs the place won't sell alcohol unless your license is horizontal. She says it's against the law. But if you google Arizona drinking laws, it only can't be vertical if you are from AZ. Didn't know I can go to a club with a vertical license and get in and buy drinks, but forbid me from getting a beer at this course. And if the lady is reading this, then you should go check the laws again. You could be making more money to pay for better green conditions. read more

Have been playing this course for over 20 years but, unfortunately, the current management and staff have made it next to impossible to want to support this course anymore. The head pro (yes, his title is 'Professional') and the assistant are some of the rudest and crass people I have EVER encountered in 25 years in the golf business. From closing the course 2 hours before sundown to pulling the flag on 18 as you are teeing off (while the sun is still shining).....It is clear this is not THEIR business, and they could care less about customer service or satisfaction - only about getting off work early. One could only hope the owners are aware of the issues and are making necessary steps to rebuild the image of Paradise Valley Golf Course. I have golfed at this course for several years and it has always had issues with some of the greens along with other issues as well. The sand traps are awful but the worse part is the staff. This weekend finally pushed me away for good. I went to hit balls on the range with my wife and they were having issues with their credit card machine. This is the statement that came directly from the old so called golf pro at the counter. I asked if he could try again so he did but then about five other people walked into the shop and he totally changed his attitude. When he saw everyone waiting he then stated, "your credit card has been denied. You need to call your bank and see if there is an issue with target from the issue they have going on." I asked him what the heck he was talking about and told him I had just used my cards before arriving at the course. He insisted, really loud so I asked him what an issue from several months ago had to do with my cards today. He kept saying it over and over and was incredibly rude so I left. My co-workers and I have golfed there for many years on Friday after work but this will no longer be the case. This guy was as rude as it gets without using vulgar language. If your looking to get out and just practice then it is fine. The fairways are turning to dirt and the greens are really bad. I play there because it is close but as in another review, you get what you pay for. The prices for the course are too high. I play 2-3 times a week and play Paradise Valley Park golf maybe once a month. It can be fun when it's not too crowded. Now, mind you that the range balls suck as does the range, practice greens are decent. My real issue has always been the jerk-off people that work in the pro shop. These guys seem to compete with who can be the least helpful and the most rude. I can usually deal because I just feel bad for them and chalk it up to them recovering from drinking or whatever makes them like that... But today was different because their bs attitudes and lack of basic ability to do their job negatively impacted my ability to play golf and ruined my day. I showed up 40 min before my tee time and spent my extra time putting just outside the pro shop while they called golfers over the PA. However, my tee time came and went without any communication by the announcers over the PA or otherwise. When I went to check on things, they told me that I MISSED THE TEE TIME to which I replied- no, YOU MISSED MY TEE TIME. He then began to give me other reasons why it was my fault like: "there's more than one clock", "I was on the phone when your tee time came up, how was I supposed to make that announcement with someone on the phone?", "sometimes we don't call them", "you should have looked at the time". Well, I don't wear a watch when I golf, moreover-it's not my job is it? And how do you manage to make an announcement with someone on the phone? You ask them to hold. That info seemed to blow his mind! Anyway, I went to the first tee to find 7 people waiting to tee off so I went to the 10th where I could join or play through with some nice gentleman who gave me the option only to be interrupted by the same guy in the pro shop coming out to specifically tell me I had to start on 1. So naturally, I went and told him what I thought of him and his inept ideas of how a golf course works and demanded my money back. Then I called golf now where I booked and they told me it wasn't the first time they had complaints about this course and its management and issued me a voucher for my wasted day. In other words, the correct way to handle a paying customer who got screwed. The folks at PVPGC should all find a different line of work- like maybe at the MVD where they would fit in so much better (not to offend the nice people at the MVD, just using the stereotype to illustrate these bozos). read more
