I stayed at the Paradox Hotel for my birthday trip, and overall it was a great stay. One thing to know: the main entrance is a little confusing. It's in the back, although you can also enter through Karma on W. Georgia. Just go to the elevators and down to UL to check-in. The valet attendants were consistently friendly, especially one of the taller gentlemen whose name I wish I'd remembered. At check-in, Shashim (I hope I'm spelling that right) found out it was my birthday, upgraded my room, and even sent up some treats. Nice touch. The hotel is beautiful, and my room had a great view. The only hiccup was that my room wasn't serviced during my three-night stay. It turned out I had accidentally activated the DND setting on the in-room iPad controls. The first night they put a letter under my door but it referenced a "sign" when the actual physical sign was on the inside of my door. I was confused but just moved it the next morning. Once I called to ask why my room wasn't cleaned again and for fresh towels, the staff explained what happened. The manager called me personally while the housekeeping associate waited outside my door until I gave permission to enter and he even showed me the setting so I wouldn't run into the issue again. But by then, I only had one night left. Once I realized the misunderstanding, everything made sense. I appreciated how professionally the staff handled it and I'd definitely consider staying here again if I venture to Vancouver again. read more

We stayed here with my 3 kids under 7 and overall was a great experience. The good: best room service ever. The food is actually good. They are so prompt, friendly and set everything up for you. The burger was amazing, we got it twice. Breakfast was good too. Overall, loved their food here. The rooms are very nice and somewhat spacious, nice bathroom and nice view. You cannot hear any city noise. No weird smells and overall comfortable beds. The parking is hit or miss but manageable without valet. The decor is somewhat Vegas like and nice overall. Great location. Great job cleaning the hotel while we were gone. The not so great: I was a bit disappointed with the lobby and front desk. I didn't feel very welcomed and I hardly am hard to please with that but it was cold enough for me to notice. The lobby is also so dark and not inviting. No coffee or anything. Just felt somewhat dead. But my kids did love the foos ball game. They close the pool for kids at 7 pm. We respected this but definitely felt it was not very fair. I recently stayed at Paradox Hotel with my girlfriend and was honestly disappointed by the cleanliness, especially considering this is supposed to be a luxury, high end hotel. When we first got to our room, we wanted to have a drink, but the glasses were covered in dust. They looked like they had been sitting there for months without being washed. There were also visible marks and smudges around the room that could have easily been wiped down but clearly weren't. I called the front desk to let them know, and they offered us an upgraded room for an additional $50. Unfortunately, the upgraded room was even worse. The glasses were even dustier, the bathtub was dirty enough that I had to clean it myself before using it, and there were dried stains running down the walls that looked like spilled coffee or juice. There was also crusted shampoo that's been sitting in the shower walls from the last people who showered in there and they did not clean it... finding this was very disturbing. These weren't permanent stains they looked like something housekeeping simply failed to clean. It made us feel uncomfortable staying there as it feels like they didn't clean. On top of that an alarm that was very loud started going off the whole building including inside our room at 4am which they said was a fire alarm and it was a false alarm which i'm not sure how but it scared us out of our sleep and we had a very hard time going back to sleep from the anxiety it gave us. I think the alarm was glitching im not sure. Overall, I expected much better from an expensive, luxury hotel. Cleanliness is one of the most basic expectations when you're paying premium prices. While the staff tried to help, the condition of both rooms was unacceptable. I hope the hotel improves its housekeeping standards because this experience did not match the reputation or price of the property. read more

The hospitality at this hotel was AMAZING. It was probably one of the best that I've experienced. I'd definitely stay at Paradox if I visit Vancouver again. We went during off season so the hotel was very quiet. The room condition was great--everything seemed very new and well maintained. I literally had to check how much I paid as I was entering the room because the room was too fancy for the price that I paid. The only downside was that there was no privacy in the room as the room was facing an office building that was only a few feet away. We kept the curtains closed completely, which wasn't a big of a deal for us as the view wasn't great anyways. It rained all day on the day that we arrived in Vancouver so we ended up spending the entire day in the hotel, having some drinks at the lounge (we got two drink vouchers to use while waiting for our room to be ready) and a dinner at Mott 32, which is inside the hotel. read more

Awww kiddos loved it! We went on March, and we had a very nice weekend. Staff was very courteous at all times. It was only us at the pool. They have a spa outside on the balcony. It is relaxing. Pool is inside. I felt it could use a little bit more of warmth. Baby was a bit cold. There are towels at the entrance so better grab one in advanced. You can leave them there too. We stayed at rooms in the corner. All.of them were different with good views yo the city. Even the bathroom had a full window. Lots light but close the curtain when taking a shower! There's an office right infront, and with better zoom now a days...imagine! They have cute dolls so the kids can play with. They are for sell though. Breakfast was on the bar. Yes, kids in a bar. Food is the same, but they were doing some kind of remodel. We were sat next to the door. It was chilly. Anywho. We all sat at bar tables. Good for kids. Low for adults. This hotel is basically for young rich people. Its pool is in the middle of a huge night club complete with a DJ booth: the weirdest thing ever. To drive there, ignore the huge "PARADOX" sign out front - the only entrance to the hotel is through the back alley. It's like they are emphasizing their club much more than the hotel. The room was perfectly sized, however the shower was weird in that for the 'rain' showerhead to work you need to use the control directly below the showerhead. Oh, you WILL GET BLASTED BY COLD WATER, I guarantee. Other than that I liked the plugs, the free WiFi and the push-button controls for everything from the lights to shades to curtains to DoNotDisturb. I appreciated the turndown service nightly as well as the frequent offers of water to go any time you leave the property. The valet staff was particularly friendly and helpful. Be sure to ask them to charge your EV if you have one - plus join the Paradox club before you book for nice perks! read more

This hotel is so absolutely beautiful! Our room had floor to ceiling windows with an amazing view of the city. The room came with free water, coffee and even a iPad that you can use. Very high tech and modern room. We even had a bottle of wine delivered to us when we arrived!! They offer fresh fruit every day at the front desk. Second floor has a beautiful restaurant/lounge. Well. This was a pleasant surprise. I was worried when we walked in through "Karma" the bar/nightclub and it was hopping. Definite meat market and hookup bar. I didn't like that vibe. Quickly walked through, and it was modern, clean, open, and reminded me a lot of Vegas hotels (without the awful smoke smell.) Really beautiful and high end. So we went to check in, and the front desk experience was also great. The guy who checked us in asked if we were celebrating anything and we said our anniversary. He gave us a free drink card for Karma Bar & it also had 10% off food. He also said they would send something special up from the kitchen which was so kind and great service!! So we headed up to our room. And it was beautiful. GREAT views of the city, modern, upscale and clean. There is a main control panel on the wall near the door for temperature, lighting (you can turn it ALL on and off there,) and the drapes and shades can be opened and closed there. THAT said, small aside as you can also do that IN BED with buttons on the nightstand on BOTH sides!!! Then there is the bathroom, heated floors y'all. I think this is SO much more common in Canada than the US but oh I sure loved them in the bathroom!!! Every aspect of the room was thought of for guest comfort. It had plenty of storage, the bed was firm and had cozy covers and pillows and it was QUIET. I say that as we were on the 15th floor, so I don't know if floor 3 gets loud because of the nightclub, or 4...but 15 was so quiet that we slept until 10:30-11 our first morning out of pure LIFE exhaustion. We didn't need housekeeping, so you can just hit the privacy button or put the do not disturb sign up. I couldn't have asked for more with the comfort and cleanliness and QUIET. This is by far the best hotel in Vancouver. The service is immaculate in every way. I am a Expedia gold member so they updated my room and gave me a bottle of wine without me asking. Hotels never want to honor perks like this without you begging them for it. I suggest choosing valet parking which is located on the back side of the hotel. Everyone is knowledgeable of the area. Check out Karma lounge and Mansion nightclub if you're feeling social. For my husband's first trip to Vancouver, I wanted to book a nice hotel, so I booked Paradox Hotel based off the pictures and good reviews. For our room, I booked the Paradox King Balcony, which felt super spacious and I loved the modern and stylish interior. Unfortunately for us, it was way too cold/rainy/windy to use the balcony to its full extent, haha. Also, we were on the seventh floor, and the direction we were facing wasn't the greatest in my opinion, as it didn't provide much of a view. The room had a super neat touch pad that controls everything from the shades and blinds, lighting, and temperature. Both nightstands also had options to control the shades, blinds, and lighting. On top of one of the nightstands was an iPad for us to borrow for general browsing/Netflix/etc. which I thought was SUPER nice of them to provide! The room also comes with a mini-fridge in case you wanted to chill your drinks or keep any snacks in there. The bathroom was advertised as having "heated floors," but in our bathroom, maybe only 1/3 of the tiles were actually heated (not sure if that's a purposeful design thing or if some of the tiles no longer heat up correctly). The tiles that were actually heated, felt really nice after a cold day out or right after stepping out of the shower. We did really enjoy the rain shower, and the hotel has complimentary Fig+Yarrow shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. I really liked that these were wall-mounted, rather than coming in small, tiny bottles. The only other downside of the room, is that the walls felt really thin, or at least not soundproofed well. Often at night, we could hear loud noises coming from upstairs, and if anyone is in the hallway talking, you could hear them loudly and clearly in our room. It wasn't a super big deal, but does take away the "luxury" feel of the room. Amenities wise, the pool isn't much to look at. It's pretty small and not visually appealing. The fitness center is a little better, and they provide towels for your workout. The treadmills especially look very modern and updated, with all of them having large electronic screens. The gym isn't very big however, so the treadmills are placed very close together (just an observation). Details about the room and amenities aside, the service here was phenomenal and unmatched to any prior hotels I've been at. You can stay in contact with them via text, and I was able to text them questions I had about the room as well as general questions about Vancouver. They were always courteous and replied promptly to any questions I had. The housekeepers did a fantastic job tidying our room, and even left a cute note after servicing the room! They were generous with supplying us with water bottles, especially after seeing how many we used up, and they even have a "turn-down" service, where they came around in the evening and gave us candies and more water bottles. They had umbrellas for us to use as we trekked around rainy Vancouver, and every person we encountered in the hotel was so kind and helpful! I seriously cannot commend the staff enough for the exceptional customer service we were provided, and I would stay here again solely because of how well we were treated here! Is this hotel perfect? No. But the level and quality of service provided here more than make up for the downsides we encountered while staying at this hotel. this hotel is AMAZING. it was my first time in vancouver and i feel like i hit the jackpot. as soon as i arrived, charlie welcomed me and i even got a complimentary upgrade. i was like yassssss! as soon as i got to my room i literally freaked out because it was gorgeous and the views BLEW MY MIND! like i had to pinch myself. when i came back downstairs to head to dinner, charlie had a 5 page document of different restaurants arranged by cuisine waiting for me! i mean talk about customer service! he and marty both assured me if he safe walking to dinner and were both so kind my whole stay. every staff member made me feel like the queen i am! i already am planning to come back in spring and cannot wait. highly recommend and it's well worth it! read more

I have been to two events at this hotel, both large gala fundraisers. The first, when it was still called the Trump hotel and the second last night, as the Paradox. The first time, the venue was booked because the prices were excellent as it was under-booked. This time, I don't know why it was chosen for the Arthritis Research Canada Soirée, that is usually at the Panorama Roof of the Hotel Vancouver. It's always been an event that runs smoothly thanks to lots of planning & many dedicated volunteers. (I am not affiliated with the organization or venues.) Last night's event was a stand-out. The multiple servers managed to wend their way through the crowd gliding large trays of food with what seemed instinct. A plethora of inconspicuous staff intelligently served an overflowing room. There was always enough food, napkins, and libations. The food was outstanding. It offered a great variety and all of it was easy to eat as finger food - often a rarity at stand-up events. Even the staff member, Alex, I asked for directions in the elevator (the elevator buttons did not make the way out clear) was intelligent and human. He also offered to fetch our car from valet parking. While it seemed odd that the main entrance was off the alley, this was no grotty back alley. The signage off Georgia St, where we'd expected the main entraince to be, was simple, easily read from the street and made it clear where we needed to head to and, bonus, it was all right turns. The other side of the alley from the hotel was lovely townhouses with manicured front gardens. I would not hesitate to attend another event at the Paradox Hotel in Vancouver. read more

My husband and I stayed at the Paradox after coming off of an Alaska cruise. We were looking for a centrally located hotel where we can explore Vancouver for theee days. Paradox met our expectations and then some. We were immediately greeted and welcomed by the staff outside. Mei at the front desk was so friendly and provided a great check-in experience. This hotel is new and they thought i'd everything. The room came with an iPad that allowed us to stream to the TV. A small touch screen pad controlled the lights, the temperature, shades, drapes and more. The view from the windows and balcony we're breathtaking. I enjoyed a cup of coffee (provided by a fancy coffee machine in the room) every morning on the balcony. I highly recommend this hotel if you are in the Vancouver area. read more

This hotel is visually stunning. The room was large with floor to ceiling windows with full city views. The tub and shower are open to the city exactly as shown in the photos. What they don't state online is that this beautiful view goes both ways. We mistakenly assumed that if you show a woman in a bubble bath overlooking the cityscape that the glass is one way. Not sure what the purpose of the open cityscape bathroom is if you can't actually use it without closing the curtains. The room was clean, tech filled and modern. Room service quick and the food good. However, we had to call after 2:30 pm to get housekeeping to come up. We were gone all morning, did not have the Do Not Disturb on but no one came until after we called. When they did get there, they simply straightened out the sheets and blankets and tucked them back in. Nothing was done with used towels or the bathroom area at all. It was underwhelming. They do offer a lot of fun colored candy several times a day. Strangely they are a large hotel with no airport shuttle either. Quick to call a taxi but still odd for a big hotel that counts tourists as their main customers. Overall, a beautiful room with friendly employees, a concept bathroom that doesn't work and mediocre housekeeping. Not enough to encourage us to go back. read more

I can't say this enough but I love this hotel, my friend was getting married and I booked them a room as a surprise, not only did they accommodate our early check in (so she could get ready) but the room itself was soooo beautiful!!! This is the second time we stayed at Paradox Hotel. The bar was set high ever since our first experience and each time they exceeded our expectations. The first time we stayed at paradox, we were a little bit hesitant as they were still under construction. What caught our eye was that the hotel was pet friendly which allows our furry friend to journey with us. Upon checking in, the hotel staff had been amazing! Valet service was top notch as they were courteous and speedy in assisting us. The check-in process was immediate and there was no wait whatsoever. Special thanks to the front desk staff who also offered tips on local hotspots to enhance our experience. There were several restaurant and dining area which was hidden beneath our noses. We thought the hotel might have been loud as our first stay was during their renovation, but our room was on the 19th floor which kept us away from all the noise. It was so tranquil, we completely forgot it was under renovations. The room offered a city view which oversees Downtown Vancouver. During the evening, the city lights up and offers a breathtaking view. In addition to being so high up, the noise posed by the bustling streets of Vancouver was absent. Fast forward to 2023, we booked another stay and was expecting top notch service. To our surprise, they exceeded our expectation and offered another amazing experience. Similarly to the first experience, valet was immediate and took our luggage's to the room. The front desk and staff (there were about 3 this time) and they were extremely courteous. I wish we caught the name of the front desk staff who checked us in, as she was extremely helpful and courteous! The local spots she recommended at Granville Island was stellar! This time we booked the executive suite with our puppy Meeko. The room was spacious, well kept, and offered amazing breath-taking sights of the city. One of the highlights was having a balcony on the 19th floor which let us enjoy the crisp air Vancouver had to offer. The morning time coffee on the balcony with our puppy was one of the most peaceful we've had when we traveled. Although it rained on the second day, the positioning of the balcony still allowed us to stay dry and enjoy the ambience the city offered. We especially enjoyed the that the room was spacious enough to have a dining area separate from the bedroom. We enjoyed having dinner together and keeping any scent of food in another area. The bathroom was especially well kept and well stocked. My wife and I especially enjoyed the tub which was spacious enough for 2. What caught us by surprise was and brought out our inner child was the rubber ducky. Our puppy travels with us on a constant basis and our hotel selections primarily consist of pet friendly lodging accommodations. Seldom do we highly recommend a hotel or find a hotel worthy enough for a review, but this hotel set a new standard in luxury hotels in the city of Vancouver. Even then, they exceeded expectations and we look forward to our next adventure here. My reasons for 3.5 stars; Conditioner dispenser in our room was almost empty, not even enough for one person and only a very small bottle of lotion was provided for us and we did not like the pool ( Pool in general, not appealing and quite small and the pool hours is from 7am to 7pm) Are we coming back here? Not sure because of the pool. read more
