Enter Tara, who said she'd try her best to make something special. She delivered an adorable bear on my drink! She said she might be able to do better, but I loved her effort and enthusiasm. My friend and I headed outside to enjoy our drinks on the patio. Several minutes later, Tara came outside carrying another latte. She had PERFECTED the latte bear and gave it to us for free! Unfortunately there's only one person at the cashier register and I think there's only one register and there's only that one person who's taking the orders. While I understand that this is a small run shop I will say that standing in line and waiting on a Saturday morning really is discouraging. The food however, a super delicious and came out very timely. So absolutely no complaints for me and they also have a water station set up so you can help yourself to water which is fantastic. After sitting around for about an hour to an hour and a half this place got super packed with families's children and strollers which made it even harder to move around. The ambience is fantastic so definitely worth it for your social media. I would come back here again, however I'm not really someone to order alcohol here at this time but for breakfast I think it's great.

This place was such an experience from start to finish. One of our favorite surprises was the self-serve ramen bar. It was quick, easy, and so much fun! For dessert, we tried both the Misugaru Bingsoo and the Strawberry Ube Bingsoo. I absolutely loved that you can customize your bingsoo with any of their homemade ice cream flavors, and you can even choose between a cup or a bowl. The bingsoo is made with incredibly creamy shaved milk ice, topped with generous scoops of their homemade ice cream and delicious toppings. It was light, fluffy, creamy, and so refreshing. And the ube croffle...I'm still dreaming about it! It was soft, buttery, and crispy all at the same time. It reminded me of a funnel cake topped with ice cream--but somehow even better. It came with the biggest scoop of ice cream, and one thing we noticed throughout our visit was how generous every scoop was. The Asian-inspired ice cream flavors are unlike anything we've had before. Every flavor we tried was rich, creamy, and left us wanting another bite. Our kids absolutely devoured the Oreo ice cream and kept asking for more. This was the perfect family outing. There truly is something for everyone here, whether you're craving ramen, bubble tea, bingsoo, croffles, affogato, or unique homemade ice cream. Even though they are both cafes, they are very different. Gianni's is more of an Italian bistro. What I found interesting with this coffee shop versus others is that they open at 10am and not the normal 8am or 9am on a Sunday morning. When I arrived (about 15 minutes prior to them opening the shop), I found plenty of parking on the street. Behind the building there are more parking lots, so there is plenty of parking for the restuarants, bars, and shops in the immediate area. Upon entering the shop, there are little clusters of seating areas all over the cafe. The clusters have cushioned chairs, couches and comfy seating - not a hard seat in the place - which is perfect for meeting up with friends, grabbing an expertly made coffee drink and a delicious treat, sandwich, or salad. I ordered my go to: an iced oat milk mocha latte with an extra pump of mocha and some kind of pastry. On this occasion, I ordered a Nutella and banana crepe. When it arrived, the crepe was the size of the plate. It was sweet, but not too much, and had a nice blend of Nutella and banana, but it wasn't drowning in Nutella, which is often the folly and failure of other places that use this hazelnut spread. We had a lovely time and they don't shoo you out as more people arrive. The staff is friendly, the music is not too loud, and the ambience is conversational. It's a great location to meet up with friends and colleagues in Palatine. A place I will surely revisit.

The chair was completely pushed under the table... so I had no choice but to put my foot up on the other side of the booth (which I was avoiding). Also the booth cushion is not attached so when you lean on it it comes up... making it very hard for a handicapped person like me to get in and out of a booth. other than that our experience was enjoyable. My husband ordered the corned beef hash breakfast. It came with Corned beef Hash, 2 eggs (he ordered his scrambled) diced potatoes or hashed browns (he picked diced potatoes) and toast or pancakes.
