We've been coming to Isla Ixtapa for almost 20 years now, and this is our go-to place. Pepe is the owner, Tina is our usual waitress. It's at the end of Playa Baradero ("Boatyard Beach," as it is the beach where the boats anchor) and they also have tables on the other side of the island, on Playa Coral, where the snorkeling is. Plus, Maria and her husband Esidro run the massage tent there (on the Playa Coral side), and they are very well trained in the art of massage (unlike a lot of the massage tents in the area).
Our favorite is fish filleted and barbequed whole; they will bring today's selection by your table. We also like the garlic shrimp and the octopus.
My only complain is that they don't have dark beer (few places on the island do), but they are OK with you bringing in outside beverages, and I sometimes bring my dark beer. read more
