They performed a x-ray and the doctor same in. She was friendly, professional, and very thorough. She listened and performed an exam. Gave us a strong plan with our involvement. We shall be back! The people that work at Paramount Dental are the kindest and most caring, but still professional there are. My first tooth emergency I had was a crown that came off while taking a bite of frozen chocolate (no judgment). They didn't even know me, but my husband had just had open heart surgery and this was the last thing I needed. They got me in the next day. I couldn't get in anywhere else. Aspen Dental would take me but it would come with an expensive price bc they knew I was in a pinch. I just had another tooth emergency and again they got me in the same day and my husband was yet again just out of the hospital with a diabetic injury. They were so caring which I think is what I needed after caring so much for my husband. They kept their prices the same and didn't stress me out by overcharging me. I've just returned from a regular dental cleaning and three things occurred to me: 1) The visit was pleasant (yes, the cleaning was rigorous but the people there are good to know when getting the mouth stuff done), 2) I've been seeing Dr. Nguyen for 9 years now, and 3) I had not provided Dr. Nguyen, and ALL of her team at Paramount Dental, the review they continually earn. Perhaps you can relate when I remember how I ended up at Paramount Dental: I had moved to Austin and was still stuck in that "new to town" mode that requires a person to find the following necessities: a good doctor, a good dentist, a good mechanic, and a good hair stylist. All that takes time and some tragic trial by error. I won't lie, the combination of "good" and "dentist" is a hard one. At the time, I had committed to another dentist only to have a crown put on that was not shaped well, catching food, and causing irritation. Dr. Nguyen came as a referral from a new friend so I went to her to see if the crown could be fixed. As a new patient, the first person who consulted with me was Dr. Nguyen, the sole owner and doctor. I thought she showed up because I was there for a crown and not a cleaning, but I've since learned that she meets all her new patients for all initial consultations, no matter the purpose. The practice allows her to get to know her patients and it also supports her hygienists so they are prepared for the patient's needs before getting started. I remember when I first thought I should come back for another visit: Dr. Nguyen was elbows deep in smoothing out that crown and observed that the previous dentist probably was young but hadn't really done that bad of a job with the crown. She approved of the packing and setting, but stated that with a little more practice the other dentist would be able to finish it better and be more successful. The observation struck me b/c she had extended an unsolicited courtesy to a practitioner that I was not particularly fond of at the time, but her views were supported and professionally clinical. Since then I have appreciated Dr. Nguyen's direct professionalism and tireless interest in researching her field and updating her practice. Her own professionalism is also evident in the team she relies on to support the clinic and the patients. Dr. Nguyen obviously challenges herself and those expectations and challenges also exist throughout her team members. Every single person you encounter from entering to patient chair to exiting is highly competent and knowledgeable in their own skills and responsibilities. And they like where they work and who they work with/for. You can't help but feel better about being a part of that, even when it's only for two or three times a year. And, as I mentioned ages above at the start, they are all just good people to know. Do I like dental cleanings, crowns, or other various dental necessities?...No. Hmmm...yep, still no. But they are all necessary and I'm largely responsible for my own daily dental/gum care ...but after stumbling onto Paramount Dental I am also secure in the knowledge that I have the support and maintenance that I can rely upon, and yes, leave after a pleasant visit after all this time. read more

I love paramount and everyone that works there. I always know ahead of time what's going to be done, how it's going to be done and what the cost will be. I've never had such a thorough exam. Just had a whitening treatment performed in the office and wow great results. I'm having to deal with some sensitivity but I was told that could be the case so no surprises there. actually I went in for just a cleaning and mentioned I'd like to make an appt for a whitening and robin (my new special friend) said we can do today. a while back I had a mini stroke and they called to see how I was. what's next chicken soup (I would 't be surprised). read more

Receptionist actually rearranged another patient on the fly to be seen at 2:35 and for me to be seen at 3:00 so I didn't have to miss my appointment. Superb customer service. I would highly recommend Paramount Dental. When I first moved here I had a horrible experience at Best Dental (smelled bad and dirty Office) and then Castle Dental because of that I put off going to the dentist. I then had an emergency situation and found paramount Dental and decided to give them a try. Best decision I've made. They have great customer service! Each staff member is friendly, kind, and attentive. Dr. Nguyen is great! She and her staff are great with those who have anxiety and do a spectacular job at making you feel comfortable and at ease. It's a little pricey, but I feel it is worth it because of the great Dr. and staff and knowledge. It is also a nice clean office. read more

I went in for a tooth extraction and after 4+ hours of extreme discomfort and very little input during the procedure from Dr Nguyen, she finally gave up. The tooth broke numerous times during the process ( which may be common, I dont know). At least twice I was hit with piercing pain that almost brought me out of my seat. My biggest complaint is when the Dr decided to give up, SHE DIDN'T SAY A DAMN THING TO ME. She simply walked away and had her receptionist tell me that I would need to go see an Oral Surgen. In fairness the support staff was great, especially Jenny who called me later that evening to see how I was doing. Needless to sat I will not be back. read more

Avoid at all costs. If you have to go here because your insurance makes you, change insurance providers. Jenny at the front desk is extremely rude. This office seems to think their time is very valuable and the patients' time is not. Be ready for fees if you miss an appointment, and rudeness to boot. The next day they cancelled my appointment. When I asked if this cancelled my "late fee" they said that "the circumstances were different." The dentist works hard, but her staff really brings her down. I was also placed with a temp assistant twice who did not know what she was doing. I wanted to use Dr. Nguyen because my wife is Vietnamese, but I will be moving my whole family to a different dental office. I hate that I feel so angry at this office, but the truth is that I do, and that is not a coincidence. Vote with your feet people, find a different dental office! read more

Dr. Nguyen saved my smile Sept. 11,2014!! The night before, while enjoying a hot, homecooked meal with my family, I accidentally bit down on my fork (which was further in my mouth than I thought) and chipped my two front teeth. Although it was only minor damage, I was horrified because I thought I had caused permanent damage to my teeth, ON TOP of ruining my smile forever! I called Jenny (Paramount Dental's AWESOME office manger) to see about getting an appointment for later that week or the next. Jenny found a way to work me in THAT DAY!!!! Dr. Nguyen assured me that it could easily be fixed with minor "bondo" work and that no permanent damage would follow!! In less than an hour, Dr. Nguyen and the ladies at Paramount Dental had me all smiles again!!! Now, my teeth are as good as new!! From now on.....I am eating with chopsticks!!! I found this place on the internet for fast braces. I made an appointment for a FREE consultation. They took x-rays and I ended up having to pay for that. I didnt know any better, as I called the office and told them I'm making an appointment for a free consultation and when they took x-rays, i was confused, but I thought it was part of the consultation? Needless to say, I have no insurance so I had to pay that out of my pocket. I was desperate for fast braces at the time as I was getting married within 8 months. I paid $6000 for fast braces for just that 8 months. I shouldve researched more on the prices because all if my friends said that is way overpriced. 8 months later, my teeth isnt completely aligned and Dr. Nguyen told me I would have to wear it for another 2 years. (My teeth wasn't that bad to begin with. I really just needed to straighten 1 tooth only) Waaaaaait! Hold up! What was the point of fast braces if it's advertised as wearing it for a couple of months!? I was getting married and there is no way I'm wearing braces for my wedding photos. My teeth still isnt straight and I feel conned. Overall, I feel like this place took my money and scammed me from the first initial visit. Do your research and don't settle for this place. Having a DHMO you only have a few choices other than going to castle dental (no thanks). After reading a few positive reviewers for this dentist I tried for a week to make an appointment for a cleaning and no one ever answers the phone (Called Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday). You get a voicemail telling you the office hours and that the office is closed. Say what? I'm calling during office hours. Not a good feeling to start a new dental relationship with an office that no one answers the phone after calling for several days. I had to switch dentists because of insurance. I made an appointment with Paramount to get my teeth cleaned My current (less than 1 week old) x-rays and exam records were sent to Paramount Dental a few days before my appointment. I also emailed Paramount a few days before the appointment restating that I was coming in to have my teeth cleaned. 20 minutes before my appointment, Paramount Dental called saying they would not clean my teeth, but instead insisted on making me get (and pay for) new x-rays and exam. There wasn't any problem with the x-rays they received. They said they would not accept what another doctor had done (just 6 days earlier). 1. It's ridiculous not to accept recent x-rays from another doctor (medical doctors share x-rays all the time). 2. I made it explicitly clear in my email several days earlier that I was expecting a teeth cleaning. To wait until 20 minutes before the exam to tell me that they would not do it is very discourteous and unprofessional. 3. To want to repeat and charge me again for procedures just completed 6 days earlier is a waste of my time and money. If that is the way they treat their customers, I'll definitely take my business elsewhere. read more

What a great dental experience! I had not been to the dentist in several years because the options that my insurance provider offered were downright awful. I moved to Round Rock last year and found Paramount Dental in the listings for Round Rock providers. Although the office is a bit hard to find, I was seen almost immediately upon arriving. The office is small, clean, and quiet. Everyone here was extremely pleasant and helpful. Dr. Nguyen was thorough but quick and I really appreciate that. I feel the need to warn people about this dentist. Having HMO insurance, this was one of my few options other than Castle Dental. I went in for a cleaning, and Dr. Nguyen insisted that I needed a full mouth debridement. A cleaning would have been free for me with my insurance, and the debridement came with an additional charge not covered by my insurance. I have good hygiene, so this seemed suspicious. When I refused the debridement and said I just wanted a cleaning, Dr. Nguyen told me that since she had diagnosed that I needed a debridement she would not do a cleaning on my teeth. I can not stress enough how much I regret having that debridement. After the debridement I had a headache and felt dizzy for at least a day. Not to mention feeling scammed into an "upsell" so the dentist could make more money. The story gets worse. Dr. Nguyen told me I had a cavity that would most likely need a root canal and a crown. She was also trying to sell me expensive at home treatment options that I did not want. Since I had realized by this point that this dentist is a scam, I did not return to have any further treatments done. I switched to a PPO insurance plan as soon as I could, and went to see a legitimate dentist. The dentist did full mouth x-rays and showed me how I have NO CAVITIES! Not one! If you feel like you have no other options but to go to this dentist because it is the only one your insurance will cover, I urge you to find other options. The amount that I pay for my new insurance plan is worth every penny because if I had stayed with Dr. Nguyen she would have performed thousands of dollars of unnecessary dental treatments. read more

I did not have a problem with Dr. Ngyuen or her dental hygenists but the office manager Jenny is extremely rude and disorganized. They have tried to bill my insurance for a date of service that was already paid three times and are trying to bill me personally for the same date. Dr. Tam Nguyen is excellent and the best dentist I've ever had. I trust her 100 percent. She went to dental school at the University of California, Los Angeles, ranked as the 15th best dental school in the world. When I first moved to the Austin area, I went through multiple dentists until I found Dr. Nguyen. She delivers the highest quality in dental care. She is conservative in her treatment and never rushes to do anything unnecessarily. She is a perfectionist in her work and caring. She uses the latest technology in her office and carefully explains to you what treatment is needed and why, and shows you digital photos on a big screen so you can see for yourself in a magnified view whatever the issue is. Whatever dental treatment I have received here through the years has been exactly what was needed and highly successful, including crowns. I experienced mouth trauma several years ago when a softball ball was batted into my mouth, knocking many of my teeth loose; a nightmare. Dr. Nguyen successfully guided me through recovery, saving my teeth. Sherri, her dental hygienist, is excellent, and all of the staff is great.
