Upon entering the establishment, we found it quite pleasant. The food was absolutely amazing. We all looked at each other and said we will definitely be back. The menu looked amazing as well with selections for breakfast with lemon ricotta, pancakes, and stuffed French toast which we will definitely have to give a try. Although it wasn't very busy, service upstairs was fairly slow, and several nearby tables also seemed to be waiting a while for food or checks. For drinks, we ordered the Boardwalk Lemonade, which was sweet and refreshing, and their version of an Aperol Spritz, which had a beautiful presentation. My dad's Baked Brie Burger was delicious--the fig jam paired perfectly with it, and the waffle fries were fried to perfection. I ordered the Mr. Beautiful Burger, which tasted great at first. Unfortunately, I felt VERY sick almost immediately after eating. I can't say for certain what caused it, but since my dad didn't try my burger and felt fine after his meal, I suspect mine may not have been cooked properly. Despite that, I enjoyed the atmosphere, drinks, and overall experience. I'd definitely give this place another chance, though I'll skip the Mr. Beautiful Burger next time.

The Caesar salad was 'different' - aren't they all? I've been experiencing very different types - the one tonight had a subtle dressing - with a subdued sweetness. The grated Parmesan and Breadcrumbs smothered the salad - when you see the picture, you'll understand. It was a good salad, however I would have preferred less grating and more dressing. Next up, the Waygu Meatballs, in a delicious San Marzano tomato sauce. The meatballs were excellent. I was mystified by the accompanying 'jar' of 'basil' ricotta. See attached picture-it's a large amount of ricotta - I tasted it - it was very creamy but the basil was faintly noticeable. I added a little to a meatball and it didn't enhance the 'bite' at all. I was embarrassed leaving this large jar of cheese. We shared the two entrees - the first, Sea Bass on a bed of mashed potatoes was cooked perfectly and had the most delicate taste. It was 'too delicate', if there is such a thing as- for they say, ' good fish, doesn't taste like fish '. However, the fish needed seasoning or sauce - one or the other, or both. The next entree was the mushroom house made ravioli - a tender pasta with a mushroom filling covered in a creamy, earthy mushroom sauce. We also ordered a side of sautéed wild mushrooms and added those to the ravioli - it was a wonderful dish.

I never get stuffed fish because it's always full of breading and crab which I don't prefer. This was stuffed with summer squash and fennel julienned into a spaghetti as well as orange slices. The flavor was so fresh and enjoyable. The potatoes that came on the side and the lemon caper sauce rounded it out nicely. We packed half our food to go to save room for dessert. Espresso perfectly poured, gelato sundae, mini jelly donuts (to die for!) Chef Lou stopped by to ask how we were enjoying our dinner (very much!) and our waitress Anna was so fun to chat with and provided great service.

The meal was a good mixture of shared dishes and individual entrées, which really fit the atmosphere. They don't alter the food for anyone's preferences. We had a food allergy in our group, so I reached out ahead of time. They were accommodating for the most part and very nice about it. I give Buoys five stars because, while it doesn't take itself too seriously, it takes the food pretty seriously. The whole place is just cool. Went there today for the first time since under new management. Service was phenominal, the waitress was so friendly and did not have to be asked for anything, she was so attentive. The place is spotless and has really improved since it's re-opening. I got the mediterranean omelette and it was AMAZING. It was cooked perfectly with a side of delicious home fries with a cute fruit garnish. I would definitely call it one of the local gems, and next time you're looking for a good breakfast definitely give it a try. We were dying to get to an authentic diner, this was certainly it. We were greeted with smiles and warmth upon entering the establishment for lunch. we had a fantastic server, so friendly and obliging and she kept the coffee coming! The French toast was limp and undercooked, and the French fries were hot on the outside but cold in the middle. The experience was bad enough that we noticed another customer at a table across and diagonally from us take one bite of his burger, put it down, get up, and leave without eating any more. By the time we left, we hadn't been able to eat much of anything. We ended up stopping at McDonald's on the way home because we were still hungry and needed something we could actually eat. I understand that mistakes happen in restaurants, but this was far beyond a single mistake or an off dish. Nearly everything we ordered had a problem, and the overall quality was extremely disappointing. Based on this experience, I would not return.

"A traditional French chef would define a bisque as being a thick, creamy soup made with shellfish and thickened by a paste made from their shells. Cooking shells? I had no idea! Julia Child was one chef to popularize lobster bisque in the United States; her recipe uses both the shells of the lobster and rice to thicken the bisque. Today's definition of bisque has expanded to include vegetable bisques, like tomato and butternut squash. The word is more related to the smooth texture of the dish and the use of cream. Most modern bisques are thickened using rice. Some cook the rice in the broth and strain it out later, using only the left-behind rice starch to thicken the soup. The thin shell of the cheese is a pasta filata curd made of buffalo and/or cow's milk mozzarella, while the insides contain a soft, doughy, stringy mixture of curd and fresh cream. When you cut open a Burrata, it oozes with buttery and creamy panna containing scraps of mozzarella. The cream has a rich flavor and must be eaten immediately. So, I'm on the hunt for burrata now.
