Fast forward again and things have indeed changed here over the past several years. Starting with their service which is now both friendly and efficient. The ambience is still that of a dinner but clean and well taken care of for sure. It is cozy but not over the top charming as it should be for a dinner. Now the most important part the food which is consistently delicious. They have items like real maple syrup and fresh squeezed orange juice. Their menu is extensive and provides choices for everyone. The only nit here is the pricing which is still very high. Not hard to spend $50 here with tip for breakfast for two people. If they were 10-15% cheaper I would be rating them (5) stars. But, be that as it may, we will breakfast here from time to time. read more

Busy day but still seated promptly, orders taken and delivered swiftly, and the food was great. I had the "Bubble and Squeak" (cabbage, potatoes, eggs) with "bangers" (Irish breakfast sausage) plus outstanding Irish soda bread toast -- the special St Patrick's Day menu was still available. Other diners had the always-excellent pancakes (pro tip: get the REAL maple syrup). The friendly welcome, homelike atmosphere, and ever-attentive owner-managers make it all come together. read more

Great service, great food. That's what you expect from a good diner and that's what you'll get here. Service is efficient, friendly, and professional. We all ordered the Paramountal breakfast which was perfect. Eggs, home fries, bacon or sausage, and French toast or buttermilk pancakes. You can't go wrong! read more

MANASQUAN: The Paramount Diner in downtown Manasquan has a cozy outdoor patio where leashed-dogs are allowed. The owners, Linda and Mike, encourage bringing doggie customers and lovingly refer to them as "patio pups." You might see some of their regular pup customers there weekly! Mike even brings out bacon for all special furry guests. The food is eggcellent with all breakfast, brunch, and lunch favorites. We enjoyed the avocado toast and a benedict that was uniquely draped over a corn muffin! Huge portions and the best fresh squeezed orange juice. You can even BYOB. We give a lot of credit to small businesses that are excellent at what they do all around! read more

My favorites are the gingerbread pancakes and the blueberry lemon creme pancakes (comes with a side of lemon curd). This year I also got the Connecticut style (butter not mayo) lobster roll. Came out from Arizona to meet family and decided to stop in the paramount due to the number of high reviews. The ambiance is very nice. It's easy to see this place is a hit with the locals. The two problems we had was that our order took over 35 minutes to arrive. Multiple tables around us were sat after us and received their breakfast and were done before we had our brought out. The biggest problem was either the manager or the owner would not acknowledge that there was a problem. He had the audacity to tell me it was because of what we ordered. We ordered their scramble plate and biscuits and gravy. He never came close to saying sorry it took so long we had an issue in the kitchen. Great food, nice place, but our impression is so negative due to the manager/owner that we won't be back. read more

Just had a wonderful experience for breakfast at a very intimately-sized, charming, and ultra clean in-town diner. Highly recommend. Interesting menu- I had the" Bliss" which was three eggs scrambled with bacon bits, chives, and cream cheese on a large English muffin. Delicious. The other dish was ham & Brie on thick French toast. We have been coming here for awhile now, it's our home away from home on weekends whenever we are at our home in Belmar. We go and forth all year long but never miss an opportunity to come here. First thank you Mike and Linda for always being so welcoming, we feel like family whenever we stop in. The food is always delicious, fresh and plentiful. The hardest part for me is changing what I order! I tend to stick to a few favorites only because I like them so much...Can you say Vege Benedict! Yum! The staff is very attentive and knowledgeable. A wonderful experience, year round and it never disappoints. I'll update the review with some photos this weekend when we stop in to wish everyone a wonderful holiday! Try it, you'll be glad you did! my friend and I went there on a Saturday afternoon in July. The man who sat us looked miserable. He looked at us, asked "two?" and led us to our table. All The while with a miserable look on his face like he just lost his best friend. Our waitress was OK. I asked for a water and my friend asked for a water and the waitress only brought one. I asked for extra napkins, and the waitress didn't bring any. Coffee was pretty bad because it was weak coffee. I ordered an omelette that was supposed to have sweet peppers in it according to the menu. No. The omelette had green peppers in it. there is a huge difference between hot, sweet, and green peppers. It's not just this diner. It is many restaurants that list green peppers as "sweet peppers." despite this, the omelette was very good. I would go back to try this place again. I just wouldn't order an omelette with "sweet peppers" read more

Can you give 5+??? What a find, and what a perfect breakfast and exceptional server we had one early Saturday morning! We were staying at a local shore club for a wedding. They offered "continental breakfast," but I preferred to have something more substantial to hold me until the early evening's festivities. First of all, the young woman who greeted us and then took our order was the most chipper (the best word I can use to describe how cheerful & perky she was, so early!) person, and friendly and speedy. My poached eggs came out perfect, my husband's veggie omelet was stuffed with vegetables and he loved it. The potatoes were crisp and had bits of peppers and onions. Very good coffee helped us wake up! Our caloric splurge, a short stack of apple nut pancakes, topped it all off. If I'm ever down that way again, I'll have breakfast (or try lunch) at this small but wonderful diner again! We recommend it if you're in the vicinity! read more

Ordered a tuna salad with gluten free bread. Bread was falling apart while trying to eat sandwich. Ordered onion rings they upcharge for gluten free bread and charge for substitute of onion rings ... which I don't mind paying but the food quality is terrible it's mediocre at best the tuna tastes like I can make better tuna at my house. $16.59 for mediocre food and service. My server did give me a pickle and didn't charge me for it. I definitely won't be back. Slow service too. Not very friendly dinner. Terrible food quality. read more

Love trying new places for breakfast & this one was a gem. I had an Italian Omelet which was superb. Everything was cooked perfectly & my wife had a Blueberry Yogurt Bowl which she said was extremely fresh. She drinks decaf coffee which was fresh brewed for her & she said it was delicious. Truly a lovely Manasquan institution! I have been coming to The Paramount Diner for years and never had a bad meal whether it is a simple egg platter (pro tip: ask for cheese on your hash browns!) or a delicious tuna melt. The food is always fresh, the establishment clean and the wait staff is both pleasant and efficient. I highly recommend the Paramount (or the P-Mount as we call it in my household) for anyone in the area that wants a quick bite! read more

I love the food and great atmosphere!!! Its a childhood favorite!! However.... was recently there... asked for extra napkins from our waitress. I had two near my plate. The waitress actually picked them up and said YOU HAVE THEM ALREADY.. speechless, I said we'll they are for my husband... who doesn't have any. Seriously. Just give me a few extra. Don't be so rude and nasty about it. I'm still annoyed but I will continue to go because I like supporting local businesses, I love the new owners, and that's my home town. read more

Went here for breakfast this morning. Was greeted warmly by the waitress/hostess and seated. Order coffee, "fresh squeezed" orange juice, french toast and bacon. The coffee was so strong and bitter that no amount of half and half would make it drinkable. The "fresh squeezed" orange juice was anyhting but - I observed the waitress fill half my glass from one homem-made looking container but the she filled the rest of the glass from a container of orange juice. Fresh squeezed not!!! No pulp at all - tasted like Sunny Delight that kids drink. The french toast was smoothered in powdered sugar and cinnamon - way to sweet. The bacon tasted like grease. What a waste of $25 for a truly tasteless breakfast. Never again! read more

Situated right in the center of town, this diner has been a mainstay in Manasquan for a very long time. I believe new owners took over the place five years ago. Before that time they tried to attract a dinner-crowd which did not fare that well. Now the hours are from early morning to 3 PM. I arrived before my friend and was greeted by Debbie, my server, also a mainstay here. Coffee was immediately ordered. The place is super clean as I noticed the Xmas decorations being slowly taken down by the staff. I ordered breakfast as my friend arrived. Food is excellent here as I ordered eggs, bacon, home fries and rye toast. I have not tried lunch here so you should check the other reviews. Overall I find the breakfast prices a tad high, possibly because it's down at the shore and during summertime higher prices prevail. There is free parking on Main Street, if you can find a spot. Usually this early in the morning there will be no problem (during the off season). read more

Hash browns really flavorful and nice portion of bacon on the side. My husband got corned beef hash and eggs and I'm not sure of the seasoning but it was also delicious, one of the best we have had! Very friendly service. Will go again definitely!
