I've been a customer of Paramount Elevator for more than five years. They service our residential elevator in SF every month. During this time we've had a range of maintenance issues and several state inspections, and Paramount has always been responsive, helpful, and credible over dozens of calls, service appointments, and email.s Elevators are highly regulated and need regular updates, and Paramount has consistently helped us navigate those requirements. Their pricing is fair for the level of expertise. I've compared quotes from other vendors multiple times, and while Paramount isn't always the cheapest, their quotes are thoughtful, accurate, and align with the work delivered. Don't be fooled by someone giving you a quote that hasn't actually looked at your elevator :) They also know how to navigate state compliance really well - shoutout to Derek, their operations manager. I understand there are some negative reviews here but I think a lot of these other people are angry at having to maintain expensive, legacy elevators and not actually reflective of Paramount's work. read more

I have an old freight elevator in a commercial building in SF. When the pump driving the piston failed, no other company was willing to work on a repair. Paramount referred me to a pump repair shop that fixed the pump and then reinstalled it in about half the time that they had originally estimated. I am beyond happy with their service. Their technicians are highly experienced and very professional, and their management's communication is very timely and accurate. Highly recommended. read more

suprised at all the one star reviews. Figure I'd add something positive on these guys. Known them for 15 years. Converted service contracts to them from other vendors and saw repair bills plummet. Their service is really good. Way less problems and issues and stuck elevators and expensive T&M bills. There really isn't a comparison. I think most reviewers just don't understand the unfortunate expense of having elevators. I can attest that over the long haul they will be more cost effective that other vendors I've used as they don't stick you with continual T&M repair bills. I had a elevator that used to go out monthly, and ever month I'd get a $500-1500 repair bill. Goes out about twice a year with these guys on service and it costs around $500 usually to get it back up and running. read more

I never write reviews. This is my first and it is because this company is the worst. We have been a client for 15 years and terminated the service. It all started with a request to meet inspection, complete with a preliminary order. We called 4 times with a assurance that a tech would contact us. Nothing happened. Then we called again and was told that I could do it myself. We ended up calling the State of California who then intervened by sending this company an email to assist so that we could meet our deadline and avoid a penalty fee. ( I asked to file an extension). The owner or manager blamed the whole thing on us after we got angry. Long story short, the worst service, rude employees, rude owner on top of it. hey teach your drivers how to follow traffic signs! one of them just before noon on Wednesday 7/10 drove the wrong way down Powell Street past stopped cable cars and almost hit one in addition to passengers (like myself) as he was heading for the turntable. he had to stop, turn around and head the other way. One of there service techs, put about a half gallon of dripping hydraulic or elevator oil into one of our blue, cardboard, recycle bins. A huge mess to clean up. But what is worse is the trail of dried oil on 4 flights of stairs. Everyone makes mistakes, but wow. Really? read more

These guys simply suck. The elevator in my apartment building was out for around three weeks. Their excuse was that they were waiting for 'special parts'. They finally got it working again, but after less than two weeks it shut down again. They came out that same day and got it going again which is good, but it went down again the next day. Everyone in our building is trying to convince the landlord to dump these clowns and use another company. read more

Our apartment elevator systems get a lot of abuse from our college student tenants but thanks to Paramount they're kept running year after year. They can usually get to minor repairs within 1 business day or do same day emergency repairs. All their employees I've met are friendly and real experts at fixing all types of equipment. They've done everything from major equipment upgrades to helping trapped people during power outages for us. State inspectors will always find something to write up - it's job security! The good news is that Paramount takes care of needed repairs and paperwork quickly for you so you meet the state's deadline. With Paramount maintaining our elevator systems we've never had a safety issue or problem with the state inspectors. read more

Terrible service! Very unresponsive and dismissive! They said they would come out to repair our elevator several times and never showed! Only to finally tell us they didn't want to come out and service our property because the previous owner never paid them. We even sent proof of new ownership! But the worst part is that they weren't even honest at first. Then they said they didn't care if we never used them, they have plenty of other business....this is directly from the owner. We also talked to an Alyson. Overall very unprofessional. I wouldn't recommend them to anybody. read more

I have worked with Paramount for about a year. So far so good. The prices are exceptional, you cant beat them. Response time has been immediate. I am not sure how they are so affordable, even provide payment plans for big ticket items, but whatever they are doing they received 6 more contracts from me within the past six months. State inspectors will find something at every building it seems, it really doesnt matter who is maintaining your elevator, and I have worked with 3 other big elevator companies who also get written up. Most important is how the elevator company responds to State Inspections, how fast, and how affordable they can remedy the situation... read more

honestly, I have no idea what kind of work these guys do. Reason being because they haven't done it yet. What I can say is that they are unresponsive, they don't follow up with the person initiating the work (even if it's mandated by the state and you're looking at a fine if you don't get it done). I recently switched elevator companies on two of my apartment buildings. I formerly used National which changed hands. I was never happy with the service or should I say " lack of". They were always over priced and never fixed any problem I had. I switched to Paramount Elevator about four months ago and couldn't be happier with my decision. The customer service is great and when I have a problem they send a tech there same day and actually fix whatever problem which arises. If your looking for a dependable honest company that your not digging into your pocket book every single month I strongly recommend Paramount. read more

For 45 minutes Paramount Elevator Corporation employee, Gary, acted out like a brat with his lack of willingness to work together and be cooperative. Time is money. On March 2, 2016, I had the most obnoxious encounter with a Paramount Elevator Corporation employee, Gary for no reason other than his laziness and greed. I am a private motorcycle detailer who works out on the streets for I haven't any garage to work from. The motorcycle I was contracted to do was waiting on the sidewalk of the motorcycle shop that had hired me. This was the third day in the past five I was working on the same motorcycle, each day in the same spot on the sidewalk, which also happen to be across the street from where Paramount Elevator Corporation was doing their contracted work in almost the same amount of days and their truck was even parked next to the motorcycle I was working on in that time. But on March 2, 2006, the motorcycle shop pulled their motorcycle out to park it in the same spot on the sidewalk. This is where the shop had been parking it longer than Paramount Elevator Corporation had been working in the neighborhood. Gary, Paramount Elevator Corporation's employee who was sitting in the passenger side of their truck (sidewalk side of the truck) refused to close door to the truck which prevented the motorcycle from being parked properly and to be worked on. When my employee asked him politely to shut his door, Gary said "Fuck NO! Move the bike. You have the whole sidewalk." I showed up after I heard about this and asked Gary to shut the door if he doesn't mind. Gary's words to me. "I do mind! You have the whole sidewalk ass." he then opened his door all the way now preventing me access to the motorcycle. He was just sitting there eating with all his windows closed, his legs where not hanging out of the truck, I could not figure out what going on with him and his lack of cooperation and not to mention his logic. I asked where is his boss, he claims he was, and thats when I tried to talk to him as a private contractor to another private contractor and hopefully an adult conversation. I told him as a private contractor I am not allowed to move motorcycle shop's motorcycles due to insurance reasons. I also told him I am not preventing him from his livelihood like his is with mine, he still refused to cooperate. His brat attack costed me the deadline for this contracted job I was higher for. Thank God for cameras, cause I did take advantage of Gary's disposition as well as his position in photos showing how he had been blocking the access to my work. I've been told I should sue for my loses. Time is money. If this guy, Gary, is Paramount Elevator Corporation boss, that says too much about Paramount Elevator Corporation. If this guy, Gary, is not a Paramount Elevator Corporation boss that says too much about Gary. But regardless of whom Gary is trying to sell himself as, this is Paramount Elevator Corporation's representative. With all that obvious build-up nastiness showing up I would have to be concern on their focus ability. What is so stupid about Gary's antic is I live in a 1921 building with it original working elevator that need TLC-ing at least twice every six month, Paramount Elevator Corporation lost an ongoing contract with my building with that level disregard toward his own business. read more

When the state came to review our elevator, after continuous service from this company, they state shut it down, citing several problems, including a bunch of oil on the bottom. Instead of fixing it for free, this company billed me for cleaning up the floor and keeping the fluid at the right level even though the inspector said they should have fixed this as a part of regular maintenance. I would not recommend this company. read more
