I had a number of options from checking Yelp. While others wanted me to leave a message, most of which were not returned, Noble picked up the phone on the first or second ring. I explained what I needed, and he agreed to stop by the next day. He took measurements, gave me a price, and a date to do the work. Due to some last-minute family issues, I needed to postpone the work by a day, which Noble agreed would not only work, but would make it easier for him, as he could do some prep work the day before, making installation quicker and easier for him. Installation day arrived and he was ready to go an hour earlier than we had discussed. When he got here, he quickly unloaded his van, and went right to work. He was efficient, personable and did an excellent job on the installations. Great service, fair price, everything we wanted and needed! This was one of the best experiences I've had in years with getting a project done at our house. Noble Laird was amazing. Skilled, knew his product, prompt, caring, and respectful of our needs. I called to get three bids, and by far Noble beat all the others by leaps and bounds. We didn't need a new lift (Mom is 93), and one of the first things Noble said was "I'm a mechanic at heart." I normally don't do reviews but I am so impressed with Noble and Kylie, the "creative" couple who came to service my chairlift this afternoon. He looked at the lift and knew immediately what the problem was. They got to work right away. They showed me things about the lift I didn't know. They were trustworthy, friendly, and fun to work with. He fixed things that the original installer didn't bother to do. She cleaned the lift so it looks brand new while he did the mechanical part. They're very pleasant to have around. I fully trust their work. Very reliable. Very punctual. Hopefully I won't need their services again but wouldn't hesitate calling them for help when needed. I'm not one to write reviews. I think this is my 3rd review in my entire life! But I had to share how grateful I am to Laird Lifts. My 96 year old grandfather was stuck in his house because his stair lift chair was broken and needed a new battery. I must have called a handful of lift companies and either they never responded to my calls, or their price was outrageous. Noble got back to me right away and was able to head over there the next day. He noticed it needed an extra part and so he also returned the following day (having to drive from Oakland to SF). Our Stiltz Duo Thru-Car elevator installation has just been completed by Laird Lift Company. The equipment is surprisingly complex and very high quality. I was impressed by the quality of the equipment but the quality of the installation was even more than equal. Nobel, who with his assistant installed our lift, gave great attention to every single screw, from making sure he had Loctite on the fasteners to adjustment of the spring force and clearances for various safety interlocks. All the care he exercised gives us confidence we will have long and reliable service. I appreciated that he referred to factory installation manuals to insure he was following directions exactly. (I worked at a laboratory which dealt with manned spacecraft, and the care Nobel uses to assemble the equipment compared favorably with the care used there.) Every single operation had to be done exactly right. The craftsmanship on mundane parts, such as cutting holes for wires in the carpeting in the cab was top drawer. We are proud of the equipment, but also very proud of the quality of the installation. We were most fortunate to have such a caring craftsman, so passionate about his work and its quality, install our Stiltz Lift. I offer my highest recommendation to Laird Lift Company. read more
