Bucky was a pleasure to deal with and even called several times over the next few weeks after the sale to make sure that everything was still going OK.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The one thing that really turned us off was the hard pitch on the financing. Rather than explain what our basic costs would be and explaining the options, the guy we talked to (can't remember his name) only explained more expensive options and didn't tell us the basic monthly financing cost until we pinned him down and said we were not interested in all the extended warranties. Service here is, unfortunately, lacking. I'll start with the good: the technician I got was friendly enough, and when I sent my car in due to an (in warranty) AC repair, they put me in a decent loaner (which I actually would've really liked if it was electric like my car [yes, I'm spoiled]). Now, let's talk difficulties in service: it took them about a month (yes, a MONTH) to repair my AC. The whole time, they kept demanding little obnoxious things (like personally coming to pick up the car because they found an uneaten french fry in the back seat and I needed to vacuum the car out or pay them hundreds of dollars to clean it...again, a french fry...don't go to Paramount Kia if you have kids, y'all)...oh, and that was AFTER saying it was good to go when I'd come in a couple weeks prior to empty out the front of the car. Basically, I'll only come back here if I absolutely have to (so basically if I need another warranty repair and can't get it done in Spartanburg or Knoxville or Charlotte). If not for Scott (the technician), this would be a 1 star review at best. read more

Just before Hurricane Helene, I brought my 2018 Kia Niro Hybrid to Asheville Kia after noticing coolant leaking and smoke coming from the exhaust pipe. Despite the regional chaos caused by the storm, the dealership charged me $1,400 for what they said was a repair involving new gaskets and an EGR cooler. Within a month, the exact same symptoms returned- coolant loss and white exhaust smoke. I went back to the dealership (about a week before Helene) and explained that I believed it was the same issue. I had done some research on my own and found that this was not an uncommon problem for Kia Niro Hybrids. I even suggested the coolant heat exchanger might be the source of the problem, or at least that coolant was still getting into the exhaust system. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They dismissed everything I said and insisted it was an entirely different issue. Their proposed solution? A full muffler system replacement for $3,500.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] When I asked for proof, they showed me a photo of the muffler- not leaking. I asked again for actual diagnostic evidence. After hours of arguing on the phone with callbacks, they said the muffler had a small leak found during a pressure test. But that didn't make sense: the smoke didn't occur consistently, it only happened after prolonged uphill driving. That pattern didn't match a small leak. I knew they were either wrong or lying. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The manager (possibly named Jennifer) was rude and condescending, completely unwilling to consider that their first repair had failed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Meanwhile, my technician Kristen, who had initially been helpful, stopped responding altogether once I began questioning their approach.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] At this point, I brought the car to John's Kwik Lube in Spruce Pine. They listened, re-diagnosed the issue, and confirmed that the coolant heat exchanger was faulty- exactly what I had suspected. They also told me this is a known and common issue in Kia Niro Hybrids and that Kia should have recognized it from the start, especially after I brought it to their attention. John's Kwik Lube provided a straightforward workaround repair for under $200. That was almost a year ago, and I've had zero issues since. I kept records from both places, including pressure test results that prove Kia's original test was wrong- possibly even fabricated. I also have screenshots of Kia's repair quote (important tip: Kia doesn't let you revisit your quote history - screenshot everything while you can). Kia not only failed to fix the issue but tried to push unnecessary, unrelated repairs on me for thousands of dollars. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They ignored the clear signs, refused to listen to the customer, and left me without a functioning car for weeks, all while a hurricane was rolling in.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If I had listened to them, I would've spent over $5,000 and still had the same problem. The cars were fine. Prices fine. However I went with my mom to help her get a car. She has a very tight budget and knows what she's looking for vaguely. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The sales person, Alana, told it wasn't worth her time to show us any cars besides the ones we looked up online and already knew about.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The prices of the ones I wanted her to show were within 5k of the ones we knew we wanted to look at so it wasn't outside of reason that we could purchase them. And my mom said what she would like the number to be around. aka answered the question as it was asked. To which we were told none of the cars were in her price range.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Ya. We know. We saw all of them online. And my mom was asking for her preference of a price break. Potentially just a misunderstanding. We bought a used Honda Pilot from them a couple of years ago. It needed some servicing and we still had a warranty. I took it back to Paramount so the warranty would cover the expense. I have to say, Nathan in their service department went beyond expectations. It was not an easy fix as it is not a Kia. But he worked hard and got another dealership to help out and was able to get things fixed. 2015 Kia Soul with 56,000 miles with 10 year 100k mile warranty . provided all service records and inspections that were up to date . Main bearing on crank seized up and locked motor down ( apparently very common problem ) warranty denied because they said car didnt have emissions testing done in a county that doesnt require it . I love my Kia's, but will never buy from here again solely based on their pitiful service department. The service department has damaged my car, lied about services, provided terrible customer service (don't expect any respect). They have left my dust cover unlatched after an oil change and it blew off while I was driving down the road, put a 2011 Hyundai battery in my 2016 Sorento (older battery than the one being replaced), performed service and state inspection (with provided video) showing all things passed, then the advisor called to say they couldn't let me take my car because of a huge gash in the tire...that wasnt there in the inspection video. They refused any sort of responsibility for damaging my car, even tho it was right there in color video. I refused to take my cars back after that incident more than two years ago. Last weekend my car went into limp mode and had some significant issues. For warranty purposes it had to be serviced by Kia. And once again it has been a nightmare. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The advisor has not called me a single time. I had to call and find out what the status was.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Then after 5 days start receiving texts stating my car is ready and the balance owed, which was more than $100 what the advisor sent over beforehand. I called to discuss What the extra charge is for and the lady that answered (Sherry) tried her best to make it make sense but even she could not understand why the numbers didn't add up. Our advisor wasn't even in the building this day. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were transferred to another lady who was very rude, and I unfortunately cannot remember the name.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] She would not even listen when we told her the number she kept repeating for the total she "got it down to" was still $26 more than what we were told prior to service. Not to mention the $242 "quick item" I paid up front that was supposed to be for ONE HOUR of diagnostic...no itemized receipt to show why this so called labor is so extravagant. We had a horrible experience at Paramount Kia, Asheville. We took our 2017 Sportage in for service because our air bag light had been on for five days and we knew it was risky to drive in this condition. We were told it could take 4-6 hours to do diagnostics and fix the problem. Perhaps even 8 hours we were told. After over 5 hours we were told they fixed some recall stuff, none of which was relevant or a concern for us--but we would have to come back for an all day appointment to deal with the air bag issue, which was why we came in the first place. Very disappointing but we asked if we could have a loaner car to go back home for that all day appointment as we live about 40 miles away, and we were told we could not, because the car was no longer under warrant, even though we had purchased the car from them 6 years ago. We are never going back to Paramount, either for service or another car. read more

Buying a car is fine. But they lie about discounts to get you into the service department. And when they give you the time frame to pick up your car and you show up around that time they will tell you you have to wait 2 more hours because they forgot to include your recalls in the estimated time... so be prepared to waste 6 hours of your day. And be prepared to be charged twice if not three times as much as they claimed you will have to pay... Told me I could reschedule the recalls as if I didn't already wait 3.5 hours. Paramount Kia has worked in my car two times in the past year. The first time I paid $550 to have an alternator installed that wasn't under warranty. Eight months later the alternator went bad again and they said it had to have a factory alternator to work properly for $1500 to replace it again because they said the first one wasn't there alternator and was not covered under warranty and I had driven over 10,000 miles. I refused to have it fixed there again so they charged me $202 for diagnostic fee. They will rip you off and do not return calls. read more

Perfect example of shady car dealership! Husband tried to buy a truck here yesterday evening. They wouldn't budge on any pricing or negotiation. Not even a smidge. After he set up the bank loan and signed paper work they went to the back for a while. Then came out with management and said they can't sell the truck because of an open recall that doesn't have a solution. Manager said he would call back today and make things right. My husband had to call them and got a different manager that had no idea about the situation. The man was rude and said original manager will call. The first manager has avoided calling all day. They didn't tell the bank the situation so the loan is tied up and we can't even buy a different car until that's resolved. I think they are hoping we just quit trying to contact them and give up. Would not recommend this place. Hidden fees, not upfront on the services plan contract pricing or all of the other service plans they sell you. They add it into your contract without discussing pricing. When we noticed that the sales price on paper was $5,000 higher than the quoted price they tried to say that all of this was discussed when it was not. I tried to cancel the added service plans and extended warranties and was told they had been canceled. An entire month and 4 days later they called and said I needed to sign more paperwork to cancel the plan which they emailed me was cancelled a month ago. The worst place ever. My daughter bought her 2015 Kia Sorento from these guys last year. She had her car for not even a month and started having problems with it. She took it in for "repairs" they claimed that they fixed it. Then a few weeks later the car breaks down and stops running on her. Wouldn't start or anything. She had it towed to them and in the meantime found out that there is a recall on the car. They have yet to do anything about it and just told her that she would have to pay for it to be fixed. She never even made her first car payment on it. They still have her car to this day, as far as she knows. I also have a 2021 Kia Sportage that I bought back in Feb. of 2021. There is recalls on my car as well and when I mention this to them, I just get told that it doesn't pertain to my vehicle. Like how does it not? I have a 2008 Optima, which I purchased from Paramount KIA of Asheville nine years ago. It's a good vehicle; I've had no major issues with it. It has 129,000 miles on it. I was planning on buying a new Optima or Forte within the next couple of years. But, after what happened yesterday (2-18-20) I'll never buy another KIA, nor will I have my present Optima serviced by this dealership ever again. I bought tires from Paramount a few years ago. It's time to replace them. I did not get the present tires rotated and balanced (my bad). In fact, I haven't had anything done on the tires at all since purchasing them from Paramount. Yesterday I went to a discount tire dealership to get new tires. They told me they couldn't remove the rear right tire because two of the lug nuts had been cross threaded, and they didn't have the mechanical capability to correct the problem. I called Paramount and spoke to service manager Josh, and told him I feel that they should fix the problem at no cost to me, since they were responsible for the damage. He said he would not take responsibility for something that was done over a year ago. I drove to Paramount and spoke to sales manager Todd. He went to speak to service manager Josh. The two of them, in their infinite stupidity, came up with this solution: If I buy new tires from them at the same price quoted to me by the discount tire store, they would fix the lug nut issue at no charge. Can you say.....BLACKMAIL?? Over the last nine years, I have had my Optima serviced at Paramount many times, and have spent in excess of $2,000. I am FURIOUS at their refusal to take responsibility for their error. What difference does it make how long ago they screwed up? They STILL screwed up! How dare they try to extort money from a long time, steady customer? They need to change the name of their facility to Dickheads R Us. read more

Most disreputable dealership I have ever dealt with. Make you sit for hours waiting for finance dept. and then rush you through signing. By the time you are signing you have been there 4 to 5 hours and are in a hurry to leave. They don't review docs with you and you later find out that even though you asked several times what the monthly payment was going to be and you told them the max you could afford the payment amount was twice what you could afford. Then they tell you sorry - it's your problem. Michael Cole will tell you anything to get a sale and their business manager is a problem also. So friendly until something goes wrong then they don't even want to acknowledge you. Will make sure I tell everyone I know how horrible my experience was with these folks. read more

I purchased a car from them in 2009. Today I called the parts department regarding a new wheel for my 2008 KIA Rio5 SX. I was given a quote of $350.50 per wheel. When I asked for the part number they told me that it is their policy not to give out the number since I would just purchase it from another provider and was told I would have to do all the hard work myself. When I asked if they were monopolizing on car parts for KIAs by withholding such information the guy said yes. I asked if I found it at a cheaper price, if they would price match. I was told no. I have had nothing but grief when dealing with this facility when it comes to parts and service. I certainly will not be using them to service my vehicle when I can get locals who are more professional and nice to do the task. read more

I called on a 2006 Mitsubishi Raider they had on their website. It said, "Call for price". When I did, it was not out of service and detailing yet, so it took the salesman a couple of days to call me back. On the phone he said it is in the $13-14K range. Sounded good to me, but when I get there, he tells me that the price is $16,500 "because of so much interest". This is just another Kia dealership pulling out all the tricks, I am used too it in the new car sales, but it apparently is their motto for used cars as well. I recently went in to this dealers service department to check it out. I bought my car at a different kia dealership and had such a great experience with their service department that I thought it should be the first place I check as I just moved here. My 2006 sorrento has 60k miles, and has been well maintained. But since moving here, I was concerned with the brakes since there are a lot of hills. Also it was idling kinda high, like 2k rpm sometimes. And lastly the e brake was stretching out. So check my brakes, adjust the idle, and tighten the e brake chord. The e brake I've had done before. Very easy to do. The service guy did not seem to know much about cars. He was new, but that should have been a yellow flag. But, we've all been new at a job so I gave him the benefit of the doubt. He suggested an oil change, which I was due for to have them check the brakes. Ok 2 birds one stone, made sense. Then they would take care of the rest. 1 hour in of waiting he says the oil change is done and the brakes are ok but should be replaced soon. I will add he did not know what 5w30 was, yellow flag again. 2 hrs in he returns and says I'm all set. He explains the truck needs a list of repairs. Love it, I ask them specifically to check 3 things and change the oil. A total of 2 hours later he has come back and have this list of things the truck needs done. Well what about the three things I came in to have you check? The brakes had been done, well what about the idle? Oh, you have to go back and ask the mechanic? What about the ebrake? Oh you didn't have it fixed and to do that will be another 45min? ! So the three things I came in for, you only did one! He checks with mechanic and comes back, with what sounds like a guess on the idle. Fine, do the ebrake. All in all I'm out 200, have a list of 1k in repairs that I didn't even want you to look at, and I walk away with an oil change, a tightened ebrake that you charged me 45 bucks for (other dealer did for free) and a guess on the idle issue. So 2 out of 3 items answered and a list of items I did not and I'm out 200 bucks! How about 2 out of five stars. 2 because you did get me in same day. read more

My moms had her car at Kia for well over 2-3 months services for airbags .. tonight they decided to try to give back a dead car ( car had no issues before) And the airbag light was on after they jumped it. They claimed to had fixed her car which is a lie, I had to stop by to make sure my mom had a car to drive home , they locked the rental they had given her thinking they only had one key she hadn't even got her stuff out of it yet . And told her to give back the rental car when they never fixed the issues they had she was on the phone with me at the time I was driving using blue tooth hands free to speak to my mom and heard that and said I was on my way, when I got there they had given my mom the rental car back but again didn't understand why the car was dead and why the air bag was still turned off when they had claimed after 2-3 months of having her paid of car with them due to a major recall. To try to con a older lady is so ridiculous! I'm angry with this whole ordeal , my mom left her Kia there and is calling the manager tmrw in hopes to figure out what was going on. I wrote a review of Paramount Kia the other day about them scamming me out of a battery. Their response was that "I should reach out to them". They know my number and I gave their service manager every chance to fix my problem. He would not. These guys unfortunately let their sales team profit philosophy drive their service culture too. BTW: I have been unhappy since I bought the car from them since they sold me a VIP Service Package with the new car. Nobody has been able to tell me what a VIP Service Package is since then and I have asked repeatedly. Don't you think it would mean loaner cars, car washes, etc... Nope. Nothing. Don't be fooled by add-on stickers when you buy a car from them or anyone else. They also scammed us by misrepresenting the the average MPG.
