But there must've been some pesticide overspray on the plants from Monarca because my caterpillars all died. I watched some of them twitching violently before they died. I visited this nursery once before and was impressed by the large number of milkweed plants in stock. The owner even showed me a green Monarch chrysalis that was attached ito a piece of drip tubing. I didn't even think about the pesticide aspect until my caterpillars died. If you don't care whether or not they use pesticides then sho here but if you're trying to raise Monarch caterpillars, then you should go contact the people at This Is a Monarchy, which is up in Thousand Oaks. These people are very careful even about the fertilizer they use and use zero pesticides. You have to call them and make an appointment because it's a private residence. They're the ones who told me what probably happened to my poor caterpillars. I still feel bad about them!

They were planted correctly and properly watered and fertilized. Vineland Nursery won't replace them because "they didn't grow them". The grower, they claim, is responsible, and mentioned that other customers had the same problem. This lack of due diligence in vetting the grower and their plants is unprofessional, and the onus is not on the customer. I expect full exchanges or a refund for my purchase.

If you want healthy, hardy plants and excellent service then this is the place to get your garden perfected. I've ordered from them multiple times and every time they come up roses! This nursery has a great selection of drought tolerant plants, cactus and succulents! Mario is great and will also find or grow plants for you if he doesn't have it. They have an amazing selection of trees, that have nice canopies and are in top notch condition. (So often trees are one sided from other nurseries or have bashes on the trunks.) I used them a month a go after searching around for pricing all the the others was 400-550$ for queen palm tree not in clouding deliver, and with paramount, it's cost me 275$ including delivery !! They showed up the next day morning Extremely happy with the service and the price !! read more

Totally get it. After walking in, I decided to move away from the few people already hovering over certain plants. But was then told the section I was in wasn't open or not for sale? Not sure. From my understanding only 1 & a half rows inside of the greenhouse were actually for sale. It's misleading, expensive & and an awkward experience (1st time here). The plants are not cheap. I went to Home Depot after & the plant in the picture was $25, whereas the same plant here was $15 before the sale for something waaaaaaay smaller. This is prob the place if you're looking for a very specific or rare cactus/succulent. I don't think I'll be back.
