Went in on a Friday night, they started by saying that the rooftop was closed for a private event... okay. The appeal of the place is the rooftop and it was closed on a Friday night. But, me and my partner made it all the way there, might as well check it out. The greeter then stated that a 20% gratuity is included in every bill. I always tip 20% but enforcing it feels kind of illegal. Then the drink prices... 22 dollar for cocktails and some are even more expensive. I've travelled and been to many nice destinations around the world and haven't seen 2 oz pours at these prices. Simply insane prices for SA. Paramour is a great concept. Unfortunately, the day I went, the elevator was broken( climbed 5 flights of stairs) and NO ONE on the kitchen staff showed up. The manager(?) was very nice and gave us a complimentary sangria (very good). But we had to leave when we finished, it was about 11a.m. when we arrived and really did not want to have another drink without at least a snack. Will try again, the set up was nice. But without at least something to eat, didn't think it was a good idea to have another drink. But give it a shot. read more

Their ambience is perfect for a casual afternoon or a formal date. They have an indoor lounge and patio seating. They play good indie music indoors. They also have unique cocktails on their menu specific to their bar and can also make classic cocktails. Kind of pricey but it's a beautiful environment. read more

This place is pretty cool. They have fancy and interesting furniture inside and outside that makes the place super comfortable and also unique. It's on a rooftop so you get a good view of San Antonio which is nice. On the downside, in one area outside on a couch I sat at with my wife there were a bunch of gnats flying around the carpet and couch that wouldn't go away probably a good 50. Also most if not all of their alcoholic drinks are above $10 so it's pretty pricey you're obviously paying for the experience and atmosphere rather than the drink. I wouldn't come here if you're wanting to get a deal or save money but if you want a nice view and don't mind spending a decent amount of money then this is the place to go. read more

If I could do zero stars I would! We went last night after dinner to watch the sunset on the rooftop. There were 5+ bartenders behind the bar and a couple of people in red shirts running around. There was one couple outside and less than 10 patrons inside. After waiting 5 minutes my husband went to the bar to get his drinks, I guess we weren't going to be waited on. After another 20 minutes, I got up to go find my guy and the bathroom. He had just gotten our drinks. How on earth did it take 20 minutes with a bartender for every 2 people to make an Old Fashion & Paloma? My husband also ordered me a shot of Tuaca, concerned I might not like my drink. His concerns were correct- the Paloma was the worst I ever had! I am not one to not finish a a drink, even a bad one but this one was so bad I couldn't have more than 2 sips. I was ready to go! Bad service, worse drinks- no view is worth that! The worst part came when we got our bill....$43!!!! For 3 drinks? One of which was disgusting! On top of that you charged a 20% service charge!?!?I guess you have to do that so your people will get tipped because with your service, quality and prices I am sure that's not happening. I came here during the day and I would have, gladly, stayed until night time. From the reviews I wasn't too sure about Paramour but by the time I left, I got it. This is, definitely, a place worth visiting if spending a little time in San Antonio. And judging from my experience (and the reviews) the time to come might just be during the day: less people, no lines, no attitude, plenty of space... The only negative I can think about my Saturday midday visit was trucking up all the stairs to make it to the top. Perhaps the elevator was in session. I don't know that it was. By the time I reached the summit, I was huffing and puffing and plotting revenge on my colleague for getting me to walk up all those steps. My rage was soon abated by the ample plush seating. I like feel catered to and pampered and those pillows did the trick. The vibe is kitsch but it doesn't try so hard to be kitsch. As I melted into a pin-up girl/bombshell pillow, a manager came over to give me a menu and ask if I wanted a drink. My first coffee choice was unavailable so I just went with a black coffee with caramel syrup. 'Just.' For something so simple, I was all in. I'm not much of a coffee drinker but that sweet jolt of caffeine woke me up in the best of ways. Staying on a breakfast tip, I ordered the Sarita tacos without the (flour) tortilla. I received a plateful of chorizo, egg, potato, salsa verde, and avocado. Once I doused some hot sauce on that bad boy, it was on and poppin'. Needing to stretch my legs after such a big breakfast, I went to the balcony to snap some photos, sit in the chairs (made to look like thrones) and catch a glimpse of the view and crowd. From spending time outside, there's no secret why Paramour is popular and no question that I wouldn't come here at night. I'm past the point in my life where I seek out crowds. Think 'wide open spaces' and other such rabble rousing stuff. After such strenuous activity, I felt I deserved a cocktail. I returned to my cache of pillows and ordered a Down South Smash. As a native Kentuckian, I felt honor-bound to order the most Julep-like cocktail on the menu. Soon I was sipping on a nice smash of bourbon, sweet tea, mint, and lemon. It wasn't a Julep but it did the trick. I was really enjoying my take on an afternoon delight until I went to the men's room. I don't know what the photos were from but the imagery disturbed me. My advice: hold it and enjoy the rest of the pearls Paramour has to offer. read more

$46 for 2 cucumber martinis... $25 for a spicy margarita that was nothing special, 0 spice. They charge over 20% for service fee then still ask for a tip and act sassy if you don't tip extra. Update: it's a cute place for sure.. but very overpriced. I recommend having some happy hour drinks somewhere else then going get for 1 or 2 drinks at the end of the night since they can at least make you something special like a dessert martini or whatever you're craving. HOWEVER, Soho downtown has INCREDIBLE drinks and also can make pretty much anything / awesome desert drinks and they're only like $10 for the same level of craftsmanship and quality so it's hard to justify paramour unless it for the atmosphere. You know I always rave about this bar but this was the first time I came alone. It took 10 mins for a bar tender to come up. No hello, no how are you doing, just said "I.D." Then asked what I wanted and that was it. So it's 21 bucks for a old fashion w/ "Love.....I want to at least see "The Show" how it was made but the ENTIRE TIME the bar tender was focused on some girl. She was the one who got to see how was made, my dollar for her pleasure. Shoot, I don't even know the bar tenders name. Very disappointing nevertheless nevespoke a word to me. Some poor girl working there was dying trying to create conversation. Nevertheless, the drink was weak, service was slow and also weak, rooftop view is alright, also pricy. read more

Had a very unpleasant experience with staff and management at this establishment. A group of 35+ came to this establishment to celebrate our dear friend's birthday. It was 1:15 am and their security man walked up to the birthday boy and told him he needed to leave. We asked security what the problem was and he did not want to give us an explanation. Was he being loud? Was he being disruptive? If he were any of these things, of course it is understandable for him to get kicked out, but he really had NO reason to do so. To not cause any problems, our friend decided to leave with no further questions, and left all of his party guests there. Many of us requested to speak with a Manager. Their management had no idea on why he had been kicked out or who even made that call. While speaking to management we saw a girl tumbling down going towards the bar. Clearly she had a little too much, BUT why didn't she get kicked out? (Was this their way to get everyone out of the bar early since we were a large group?) It wasn't even 1:30am. All we were told was ''We're sorry, we will do better next time" TRUST ME! There will not be a next time for everyone who attended this celebration. Owner of this bar should really pay attention to these reviews. After reading a couple of them seems like many have had the same experience, just different scenarios. If your staff wants to kick paying customers out early and give lame excuses just so they can get off 15-20min early, Its preferably for you to change your operation hours as this is really affecting your business. 35+ people saw your staff wrongfully kicking out a client, who I'm sure helped with more than half of that nights revenue. What a waste of time! Been here a few times in the past and was nice. They have changed there business model to cater to a younger and more 'alternative' lifestyle clientele. I have no problem with that except that either since I'm just an old straight guy no one concerns themselves if I want anything or they just don't give a damn if anyone wants anything. We were the only people there so not sure what their lack of service was all about. More concerned about the late night drag and stripper crowd coming later. I would have thought my money was just as good. Female bartenders were friendly enough as long as I went to the bar. Some little dude who wanted to impress I guess was super rude to my wife. A group of friends and myself went to Paramour for my birthday a few weeks ago... we called ahead to see what music they were playing that night because we have gone before and the music wasn't so good. We also asked if they have bottle service and they informed us that they do and gave us general pricing and we said we would be there tonight. So fast forward to around 11PM we all get there, the music was good, so we try and find someone who works there to order a bottle. Can't find anyone for a bit so a few of us go to the inside area and sit in an area on the couches not knowing it was someone's reserved table and then saw there was a reserved sign. No big deal, we finally find someone who works there and they say they will get someone who we could talk about getting a table. This girl has the audacity to rudely tell us they don't do bottle service or reserved tables..... we obviously are like we were literally JUST accidentally sitting in someone's reserved section...... yet she still tries to LIE and say they don't do that. So we're obviously not going to beg for a bottle/section... and they obviously don't like/want money so we left. I don't know if they like to try and be selective or discriminative about who they allow to reserve a table, but not only was it my birthday, we specifically went there for a table and because it is one of the rare few "nice" bars in San Antonio... they need to talk with their waitresses or hostesses, whatever you want to call them and tell them to get their shit together because lying and being rude and arrogant to a potential high paying customer is unacceptable. I will be telling everyone I know to not go there. read more

What a cool place!!! We stayed at this Wyndham so this was basically steps from our hotel. We took the elevator to the 4th floor with beautiful rooftop views and a huge open industrial space decorated whimsically. We were seated in a cool sectional area and started with some cocktails. The place was so big that it never really got or felt super busy / full. Service was ok, but drinks did take a long time to arrive. Drink prices aren't listed on the menus but are $12-14 each. They also charge a 20% service fee automatically (hence the less than average service I guess). Both drinks I got were delicious (one was a gin + blueberry drink called the bramble and the 2nd a fun bag!!). Very trendy fun place to hang out! They also have a small food menu but had some interesting options. They also take reservations if you're intent on getting a table outside. read more

Horrible Staff to say the least. Very rude and they did not care. When telling one of the employees that there was no need to be rude her reply was literally "I dont care". Assistant manager did absolutely nothing. She should have been fired on the spot. Waited over 30 mins and not one person came over to take our drink orders. I had been bragging about the beautiful Paramour Bar to my husband and adult children and we were looking forward to a great time, celebrating a huge accomplishment for our son. We arrived and saw that the elevator was shut down and were instructed to take the 5 flights of outdoor stairs in the heat of the afternoon. We tried to make the best of it and ordered some cocktails and enjoyed ourselves. We figured surely they'll let us take the elevator down after having had a few of their $18 cocktails, but that was not the case. One of our friends had recently suffered a fall and was banged up pretty good and could have really benefited from the elevator. When he asked if he could use it, the manager asked him what type of disability he had, which is highly inappropriate to even ask that question. He then allowed him to use the elevator and the rest of us all head to use the stairs again. The manager then told our friend that someone had recently used an unauthorized key fob to the attached law firm accessing private records and documents. He said this was the reason they wouldn't let anyone use the elevator. There was a sign outside that said they weren't using the elevator due to Covid protocol. The mixed messages of the different excuses as to why we couldn't use the elevator was ridiculous. The manager was especially rude and unprofessional. Needless to say, we all left there extremely let down. There are many beautiful rooftop bars in San Antonio, so hopefully Paramour will work on their management issues and work their way back to the top of our list. read more

Came to town from Austin to celebrate my husbands birthday with another couple, we were met at the door and told we did not meet dress code. The young man informing us was condescending and arrogant . Our party of four was dressed nice, in fact we had just dined at Boga De Chao, and our dress was perfect for that dining location. Seems as though three is some unwritten code on who is allowed in and who is not. I would not recommend this bar to anyone visiting San Antonio. The location is not conveniently located when you have a lot of really nice bars that are. I wish I could leave less than one star.... but Based on how empty the place was at 11pm on a sat night they won't be opened long. read more

Came here for a friends birthday on Saturday and was extremely disappointed! We placed an order with one of the bartenders and he ended up disappearing and 30 minutes later, we still had no drinks in our hand and couldn't get any of the other bartenders attention! My boyfriend and I tried walking to the outdoor bar to try order drinks from there but there was a private event going on so we had to return. We ended up speaking to Daniel about what was going on, and he gladly told us to go back to our party and brought out our drinks for us! We had AWESOME service from him. What a trendy place . We sat outside in their beautiful patio/balcony overlooking the River walk. I had to go to the bar and order drinks. Bar staff is not very attentive are customer friendly except to the Rey feo group of men at one end of the bar. We came inside to get away from the cold breeze. Even inside we did not get waited on. I will always tell people you have to check out Paramour for their beautiful view of the city and their unique style but expect a wait a while for service. My friends and I attended a birthday party which included a reserved section. Even though we had a server designated to the section a lot of the guest were going to the bar because service was slow. This did not make a difference. I will tell you if you go on a busy night such as Saturday night you will spend most of your time trying to get a drink at the bar than actually hanging out with your friends. Atmosphere is great but stinks when you have to really wager would I rather enjoy 20-25 minutes with my friends on the patio or at the bar trying to catch a bartenders eye. read more

Came here after calling several weeks ahead to check that they would be able to accommodate a wedding party and they told us they closed at 2am, but it should be fine. Online it says they are open till 2am so you can imagine our surprise when we get to the bar after the wedding with the bride and groom around 12:20am. Then they call last call at 12:50am which I thought was a little odd but we bought another round thinking we had some time left. I go back outside with our drinks and a security guard is going around the outside patio telling all the groups outside that it's time to leave. I show him where their hours say they're open till 2am and he says it doesn't matter. They've decided to close. We are rushed out the door at 1:05am. It would have been nice for the bartenders to tell us that they were closing early before I spent another $20 on a drink I then was unable to drink. So I close out my tab and guess what I find, 20% automatic gratuity is included. For two cocktails, a beer and a glass of wine it cost around $65. If I could give them zeros stars I would. read more

I have a heart murmur I'm usually okay but when I got up the stairs I started to feel nauseous and light headed like I was gonna pass out and I asked the manager if I could take the elevator down and they said no there was no possible way. He said the best he could do was give me water. He raised his voice and was no help. I called 911 so they could help me. And there was an elevator and I got to use it eventually when another employee felt like helping me after I had to do all this. read more

Not really sure how this place has $$ listed when it's $$$$. Great views, atmosphere, staff. That's about it. Really hits the spot for the trendy hoity toity. Drinks are good, so is the appertivos. Other than that, what I really scratch my head about is the tips. You don't need to tip because they take what they want. I don't mind, but at least put a percentage or something whether it be 20, 25, 30%. One of my buddies got a $7 beer with $1 back, while another got $2.02 back, seriously what's up with the 2 cents? LOL. But check it out, seems like everyone else is checking this place out too! As for no dogs, completely untrue if you are a friend of the owner! let me tell y'all.....this is the place to be on a weekend. the drag brunch??? ICONIC. kristi waters, kendoll, mehgan dlux, natasha capri, i would die for any of them. honestly it was my favorite drag brunch of all time. i told kendoll i would die for her and that i'm in love with her and she said it back and gave me a peck. and on the subject of her, my god y'all she's SO GORGEOUS and her outfits... they make me drool. i need her closet. after the show, i was going to the restroom and ran into kendoll and mehgan at the elevator. we actually had an emotional conversation and i absolutely adore them. i also went to a peep show here and they had an aerial dancer, dessany, and she is beyond beautiful and incredibly talented. so sweet, too! i spoke with her after the show and took a picture with her, and then spoke with kristi waters, also very kind, and got a picture with her as well. the queens and other performers here are so lively and fun, the drinks are good, the atmosphere is amazing. the whole place is "instagram worthy" lol. they make you feel included and they're very interactive. hands down my favorite spot in sa and i recommend it to everyone! read more

I went here with my boyfriend on a Thursday night to watch the latte competition they were hosting for the baristas that worked in the city. Watching each barista's technique in creating latte art was pretty cool because it was up close and you can learn what you can do back home with your own latte. The place has a rooftop so you can explore the skyscrapers and the city around. Not much of a view but it's a nice place to bring friends to check out their extensive collection of eclectic art. There are many statement pieces and plenty of couches to relax in and out. For our first evening, the prices for drinks and food is a bit pricier than what we're used to. Their craft cocktails run around similar prices you find in Chicago, $14 for a speciality martini. Four sliders ran $18 so our bill came to be around $50-60 for 2 drinks and an appetizer, which is pretty steep. I give the place three stars because it is a rooftop bar, service we received was great and people knew how to make their drinks here. read more

I wanted to rate this higher but as a bar cocktail establishment I can't. The outdoor seating and rooftop atmosphere is a strong 5 stars but as a bar it lacks. Incredibly cumbersome drink menu, out of a signature drink, Moscow mules that tasted like straight ginger beer and incorrect labeling of a beer as an IPA when it is clearly not! Get the basics right and the atmosphere will bring me back. Oh and have the waitress at least act like they are excited to serve us, not merely tolerating our presence. Thanks read more
